Ques. Which is the best option, Mathematics, and Computing at IIT Guwahati, CSE at IIIT Hyderabad, or CSE at BITS Pilani?

● Top Answer By Sharon Rose on 04 May 21

Ans. CSE at IIIT Hyderabad is so far the best possible program one can aspire for in India in the software industry. It’s better than IIT-B CSE and hence, far better than BITS Pilani or IITG CSE.  IIIT Hyderabad IIIT Hyderabad has initiated a dedicated software inclined course structure right from the first year. It is a course highly inclined towards academics.  The institute completely focuses on preparing software experts called CODERS.  It has highly active coding clubs, excellent coding culture, and the highest average package among the above-mentioned colleges. However, it lacks a lot in the overall development due to the poor campus life. You have to leave your campus life behind if you are willing to be extremely academic. BITS Pilani It has a great course structure along with great campus life. You will be very happy with the coding culture over there.  The institute enjoys years of alumni outreach.  0% attendance can sometimes put forward a very lenient attitude of your and might even affect the coming phases of your life. IITG MnC This branch offers a BTech degree and has a course with 45-50% Maths, 45% CS and some finance courses.  The campus life in IITG is definitely amazing and the weather is pleasant. However, the coding culture is lacking as compared to the other two.  The location and young alumni network is a major factor you should consider. Considering all pointers mentioned above, it is clear that CSE at IIIT Hyderabad will be a best suited option for you.Read more

Ques. Is placement in computer science (B.Tech) in NIT Trichy on par with IITs?

● Top Answer By Arunima Sethi on 03 May 21

Ans. The placement statistics in CSE Department at NIT Trichy are not only as par the placement statistics of top IITs but also among the best in the entire country. Unlike IITs, at NIT Trichy most of the top companies don’t come to the campus placement on the same day, so, there’s no overlapping.  Except for Facebook and Google, other top-level companies have come down to this institute for the hiring of candidates.  Companies like DE Shaw, Amazon, Morgan Stanley, Microsoft, Flipkart, LinkedIn, Samsung, Goldman Sachs, etc have visited. All of them offer a minimum CTC of 15 LPA. Besides, there is less competition among the students as the topers mostly go for higher degrees. A good number of students from NIT Trichy get PPO, while the others are left with insignificant competition. Thereby, the placement process on NIT Trichy is quite easier than the IITs. It is why a decent number of students from the CSE Department at NIT Trichy successfully get the top-paying jobs. The companies generally consider NITs in the lower strata than the IITs. It means the same job profile could obtain the students a comparatively higher CTC, considering their NIT counterparts.Read more

Ques. Which is better for BTech from CS: IIIT DELHI or MNNIT, Allahabad?

● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 29 Apr 21

Ans. One of my friends was from Uttar Pradesh and was charmed with MNNIT. Hearing good things about this college from his relatives, he was quite determined to study there. He used to think it was better than IIIT Allahabad and IIIT Delhi, but gradually his misconception became clearer and he started to see the reality. IIIT Delhi is much better than MNNIT in many ways like -  Best faculty in India, unlike MNNIT. Most modern and updated curriculum for CSE in India. They offer students better research opportunities for their career ahead. Pay attention to their students and see to the fact that they grow into better knowledgeable individuals. IIIT Delhi’s infrastructure is also better than MNNIT. A better location with coding culture and make sure students improve very quickly. Categories IIIT Delhi MNNIT Course Fee 14.10 Lakhs 6.55 lakh Placement Percentage 100% 96.42% Highest CTC 43.31 LPA 39 LPA Average CTC 16.97 LPA 18.02 LPA Recruiting Companies Deloitte, L&T, Accolite, Adobe, etc. Capgemini, Morgan Stanley, ONGC, BHEL, etc. It is clearly visible that IIIT Delhi is better than MNNIT in performance overall. You can easily opt for IIT Delhi over MNNIT.Read more

Ques. Which is better for a B.Tech in Computer Science: MIT Manipal, IIIT Sri City (Chittoor), or IIIT Guwahati?

● Top Answer By Sandip Pal on 29 Apr 21

Ans. I know a few students at IIIT Guwahati and therefore, I would try to answer your question. IIIT Guwahati is the highest-ranked IIIT among all the other IIITs by NIRF 2020. This is a huge achievement because it was established in 2013 under the Public-Private Partnership by the Government of India. It is growing rapidly. The CSE program at IIIT Guwahati is very well-developed meeting the standards of an IIT. The institute provides a good research facility. Also, in the first year, the course is the same for CSE and ECE. Here is a brief overview of the CSE program offered by these three institutes. Parameters  MIT Manipal IIIT Siri City  IIIT Guwahati  Average CTC 7.50 LPA 7 LPA 10.2 LPA Highest CTC 43.31 LPA 21 LPA 17 LPA Course Fee 17.06 lakhs 9.94 lakhs 9 lakhs At IIIT Guwahati, the B.Tech CSE program first starts with computing-oriented courses and later allows the possibility of doing science courses. The institute will definitely quench your thirst for computer science.Read more

Ques. Which is better NIT Jamshedpur CSE or IIIT Allahabad ECE?

● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 23 Apr 21

Ans. If you are concerned about the brand then definitely go for IIIT Allahabad. But, if you are clear with your choice of stream you can choose either of them. If you choose NIT Jamshedpur CSE it’s good and so is the same with IIIT Allahabad.  I can share one of my cousin’s experiences, who passed out from NIT Jamshedpur. When he cracked the JEE with decent marks and got a chance to opt between these two colleges; he chose NIT Jamshedpur CSE over IIIT Allahabad comparing few factors like placements, exposure and money plays a vital role here. It is all up to you whether you want a tough competitive exposure or a light and cooperative environment. Let me make it more clearly for you by categorizing engineering colleges: Tier - 1 IIT B,K,KGP,D,M,R, BHU, HYD,BITS Pilani-Pilani campus,IIIT HYD, IIIT Allahabad, NIT K,W,T, DTU, NSIT, ISM(Dhanbad) Tier - 2 New IITs like Mandi, Gandhinagar, Patna, DAIICT, BITS HYD, BITS GOA, BIT Mesra, IIIT Bangalore, IIITM Gwalior, NITs - Calicut, Nagpur, Rourkela, Kurukshetra, Allahabad, Bhopal, Jaipur, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Jadavpur University, IIIT Delhi, LNMIIT, Thapar university. Tier - 3 Rest of the NITs Tier - 4 Lower Level State Government Colleges. Tier - 5 Amity, LPU, ITM, Manipal, SRM Main, GLA-Mathura, Galgotia, BML, SRMS, VIT, JNTU , BMS Bangalore , RV Bangalore and other private engineering colleges and other IIITs Like Vadodara etc and other top state government colleges. This categorization might help you to decide. Also, skills do not depend on the branding of the building. It is something you learn eventually. Moreover, choose a college which has easy access to transport, shops, etc. Also, if you see around there is infinite demand for highly skilled electronics engineers with impressive TopCOder and GitHub profiles. So, choosing either of the colleges won’t be a loss. But, if you have a specific interest in a particular stream like ECE in IIIT Allahabad or NIT Jamshedpur will prove a good choice too.Read more
