M.A. Fashion Design: Eligibility 

All the candidates aspiring to pursue a career in Fashion Designing, are required to first fulfill all the below mentioned criteria, in order to be eligible to apply for the course.

A minimum percentage or equivalent aggregate of 50% is required at the level of graduation which should be completed from a well recognized university or institute. All SC/ST candidates are given a relaxation of 5% under the minimum eligibility criteria. 

Also, students waiting for their final year examination’s result are welcomed to apply, on a provisional basis. 

Although, it is advisable to candidates to have a work experience of minimum 24 months, as it is required by many reputed institutes.

M.A. Fashion Design: Admission Process

Most of the fashion institutes and colleges offering the course admit candidates on the basis of their performance in a relevant entrance test, conducted either at National level (CEED, NIFT, etc.) or at the institutional level. Students, who have secured the qualifying percentile (cut-off) in the entrance exams, are eligible for the subsequent counseling process.

Candidates have to go through two additional rounds of group discussion and personal interview, as a part of counseling, wherein their communication skills and knowledge of fashion is examined by highly qualified and experienced faculties. A merit list is then issued by each university allocating available seats to the most deserving aspirants.

Students in their final year of graduation, waiting for exam results, are also eligible to apply, but admission to such candidates will be given on a provisional basis until they fulfill all the above-mentioned eligibility criteria.
