A minimum percentage or equivalent aggregate of 50% is required at the level of graduation which should be completed from a well recognized university or institute. All SC/ST candidates are given a relaxation of 5% under the minimum eligibility criteria.

Most of the fashion institutes and colleges offering the course admit candidates on the basis of their performance in a relevant entrance test, conducted either at National level (CEED, NIFT, etc.) or at institutional level. Students, who have secured the qualifying percentile (cut-off) in the entrance exams, are eligible for the subsequent counseling process.
