Master of Pharmacy, commonly known as M Pharmacy or MPharm is a 2 year master level course that students pursue to enter the field of pharmaceutical science and research.

Those students who have completed B Pharmacy usually want to opt this course for a brighter future. There are a number of MPharm Entrance Exams that offer admission to this specialized post graduation course in India.

The course curriculum of MPharm is designed keeping in mind the latest trends and demands of the industry by enhancing knowledge and skills of students regarding pharmacy to enable them having a flourishing career as pharmacists.

The main course delivery methods include classroom teaching, lab work, hands-on practical training, live assignments, workshops etc. Apart from this, students are required to submit a master degree dissertation after completing their course.

The program structure comprises core courses, electives and lab practicals. Each college & institution may have a syllabus of its own but the general topics that are largely covered in the most of them are as follows:

Biological Evaluation Principles of Pharmacological and Pre-clinical Evaluation of drugs, Bioassays, Modern Methods of Pharmacological, Alternatives to animal screening procedures, The purpose of this paper is to impart the basic knowledge of biological evaluation involved in pharmaceutical science.
Product Development & Formulation Fundamental Aspects of Product Development, Pilot Plant Scale-up Techniques, Development of Parenterals, Ophthalmic Preparation, Suppositories, Dermatological Preparations The objective of this paper is to acquaint the students with different aspects of product development and formulation.
Novel Drug Delivery Systems Fundamentals of controlled release drug delivery systems, Oral drug delivery, Parenteral controlled release system, Mucosal drug delivery models, Ocular Drug Delivery, Regulatory consideration in controlled release The aim of this paper is to teach the basics of novel drug delivery systems.
Biopharmaceutics & Pharmacokinetics Absorption of drugs, Distribution of drugs, Elimination of drug, Bioavailability and bioequivalence, Pharmacokinetics, Non linear pharmacokinetics This paper provides an insight into biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics required at master level.
