According to their review, the Department of Applied Mechanics at MNNIT is known for its rigid and research-oriented teachers.  If you plan to complete a Ph.D. and further studies after M.tech then this course is a good option. Ans. NIT Manipur is a central funded autonomous institute ranking 148th in the engineering category by NIRF 2019 ranking. The placement record is 80% for all branches of engineering every year. The department of thermal engineering from NIT Manipur develops students through scientific and intellectual knowledge.  DIAT Pune is one of the best institutes for pursuing marine engineering and imparting technical education for 60 years. The institute ranks 57th in the NIRF engineering rankings. Moreover, nearly 80% of placements are offered by the institute.  Admission process:- NIT Manipur:- The minimum criteria requires a 60% marks in BTech. The candidates require a valid score in the GATE examination.  The cutoff required is 626 in the GATE examination. The total fees is INR 1.48 LPA. The seats alloted is 37. Ans. M.Tech Mechanical is a preferred stream but its success is directly proportional to the level of placements offered by colleges in comparison to the fees or investment made. The number of students enrolled is less compared to B.Tech making it a less lucrative option for campus placements. The detailed analysis is as follows. Eligibility: The basic criterion stands at graduation with a minimum score of 50%. The common examination accepted is GATE. Fees: NIT Surathkal has a fee structure of Rs. 1.85 Lakhs ISM Dhanbad offers the course is Rs. 1.05 Lakhs. ISM has fewer fees as compared to NIT Surathkal. Placement Details: The prime-most details to be focused upon are the average and highest placement scenario of both the colleges in general. College Placement NIT Surathkal Average-Rs.11.90 LPA, Highest-Rs. 18.75 LPA ISM Dhanbad Highest-Rs. 12.50 LPA 79% placements in NIT Surathkal M.Tech as opposed to 50% in ISM. Major Recruiters are Teradata, Cisco, Dell EMC, Riverbed Technology, and Huawei Technologies. The M.Tech in Machine Design at IIT Bhubaneswar accepts students based on the scores of their GATE examination. There are 20 seats for Machine Design at IIT Bhubaneswar. The annual tuition fee for this course is 60,000 approximately. Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must register through the official website of COAP. Students need 600 points in their GATE exam to be eligible for a seat in IIT Bhubaneswar. For Machine Design the required cutoff in 2019 was 605 (General).
