M.Tech. in Computer Science: Application Process

There are many colleges that consuct entrance exam of their own to get into M.Tech. in Computer Science course while most of the colleges accept GATE or TANCET score for admission to the program.

GATE: Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering comprises of two sections which have questions related to general awareness, quantitative aptitude, language and reading comprehension, engineering mathematics and mining engineering.

Some institutes like Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu and Bhiwani Institute of Computer and Technology – Haryana also give direct entry to the M. Tech. CSE on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in B. Tech or B.E. course.

Some institutes like Jaypee Institute of Information Technology University, Noida offer lateral entry to this course as well. The student must have cleared 1st year in order to get admitted to 2nd year in M. Tech. CSE.

M.Tech in Computer Science: Syllabus and Course Description

The eligibility for M.Tech. in Computer Science course is either a B.E Degree or a B. Tech. Degree with minimum 50% aggregate marks in Computer Sciences or any equivalent degree by a recognized university.Duration of the course will be of 2 academic years consisting of 4 semesters, each of six months duration. At the end of each semester, an examination will be held that will cover the subjects studied during the semester. This examination will be referred to as M.Tech.
