The only eligibility for pursuing this course is that the student should have obtained a masters degree in political science from a recognized college. The college should be affiliated to UGC and the student should have obtained the minimum marks required.
The percentage in qualifying Master’s degree increases to 60% in colleges like Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Pune. While it drops down to 50% in Presidency College, Chennai.
Open universities like IGNOU and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad asks for 50% and 55% respectively in post-graduation.
Admission in M.Phil. Political Science is provided through the entrance exam conducted by various universities and colleges. Students are selected through a written test and personal interview thereafter. Final merit list is prepared on the basis of the marks secured by a student in the written entrance test, marks of the interview and marks secured by him/her in the qualifying examination.
