AFCAT 2018 Eligibility

Indian Air Force invites both male and female aspirants to join in flying and ground duty (technical and non-technical) through AFCAT 2018. Certain eligibility conditions must be fulfilled to appear for the exam

  • Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for AFCAT 2018.
  • The age of the candidates for flying duty must be between 20 and 24 years.
  • Applicants for the ground duty (technical and non-technical) must be between 20 to 26 years of age.
  • Candidates below 25 years of age must not be married, widowers and divorcees.
  • Qualification eligibility varies for different positions. 
  • Candidates have to be physically fit to apply for any post as per the physical standards set by IAF.

The AFCAT Application Form 2018 can be filled until January 23, 2018 on the official website


AFCAT 2018 Educational Qualification

Educational Qualification for various posts is different. Candidates must go through the details given below to know about educational criteria set by IAF.

For Flying Duty

  • Applicants must have secured 60% marks in class 12 with Physics and Mathematics.
  • Also, 60% aggregate marks must be obtained in graduation in any discipline.
  • Those who secure 60% marks in section A and B of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers can also apply

For Ground Duty in Technical Stream

  • Candidates must have secured 60% marks in class 12 with Physics and Mathematics.
  • Additionally, they should have secured 60% marks in graduation of four years in Engineering or Technology in only a technical stream,
  • Also those who score 60% marks in section A and B examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers can apply as well.

For Ground Duty in Non-Technical Stream

  • Applicants must have secured 60% marks in graduation in any discipline

or

  • scored 60% marks in section A and B examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers

Note: The candidates who are in the final years of their degree course are also eligible to apply. Such candidates need to submit the proof of passing the requisite qualifying examination by a date to be specified by the organizing committee


AFCAT 2018 Age and Marital Status Criteria

The age limit and marital status of applicants has also been defined by IAF to fill AFCAT Application Form 2018. Go through age limit and marital status criteria here

For the Flying Duty

  • The age of the candidate should be 20 - 24 years as on January 01, 2019 i.e. they must be born between January 02, 1995 and January 01, 1999 (both dates inclusive).
  • The upper age limit for candidates holding a valid Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxed to 26 years i.e. they are eligible if born between January 02, 1993 to January 01, 1999 (both dates inclusive).
  • Applicants below 25 years of age must not be married, widow or divorcee at the time of commencement of course.

Candidates are also not permitted to marry during training

  • Married candidates above 25 years of age are eligible to apply.
  • Such applicants will not get an accommodation for their partners, neither will they be allowed to live out with family during training period

For Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical)

  • The age of the candidate should be 20 - 26 years as on January 01, 2019 i.e. they are born between January 02, 1993 and January 01, 1999 (both dates inclusive).
  • Those below 25 years of age should not be married, widow or divorcee at the time of commencement of course

AFCAT 2018 Physical Criteria

To apply for AFCAT, the basic criteria for candidates is to be physically and mentally fit. Candidates are advised to get themselves examined medically before filling AFCAT Application Form 2018, so as to avoid rejections at a later stage. Additionally, candidates must be free from any disease or disability

Height and Weight Eligibility for AFCAT 2018

Below are the height and weight eligibility standards for male and female candidates for any position of Indian Air Force. Note that the acceptable weight will be ± 10% of the average weight mentioned below
