AIIMS MBBS Exam Pattern 2019 - Marking Scheme and Syllabus

AIIMS MBBS Exam Pattern 2019: AIIMS conducts a single computer-based (online) entrance exam for UG aspirants seeking admission in MBBS courses offered by 15 AIIMS in India. The exam is conducted on a national level at specific institutes enlisted under AIIMS.

This year, AIIMS MBBS 2019 is scheduled for May 25 and May 26, in two sessions – morning and evening. The duration of the paper will be 3½ hours. The entire paper will be divided into five sections viz.

  • Section 1 – Physics
  • Section 2 – Chemistry
  • Section 3 –  Biology (Botany and Zoology)
  • Section 4 – General Knowledge
  • Section 5 – Aptitude & Logical Thinking

The question paper is set both in English and Hindi. Thus, candidates must state their preferred language while filling in the application form. The online mode paper comprises 200 multiple choice and reason-assertion questions.

  • The exam pattern of AIIMS MBBS 2019 is such that the question paper will contain 200 multiple choice questions.
  • The questions will be based on topics from Physics, Chemistry, Biology(covered in class 11 and 12), General Awareness and Aptitude and Logical Reasoning.

AIIMS MBBS Marking Scheme 2019

  • Against every correct answer, aspirants will be awarded 1 mark whereas for every wrong answer 1/3 marks will be deducted.
  • Besides, no marks are given for any un-attempted questions.

Note: As per the official booklet of AIIMS, minimum eligible marks for MBBS entrance will be 50 percentile for general category candidates and 40 percentile for SC/ST category candidates.

Use of Optical Response Sheet During AIIMS MBBS 2019

  • AIIMS MBBS 2019 paper will comprise multiple choice questions and re-assertion type questions.
  • Out of four options given, select one option which you find is correct.
  • Those who appear for the exam are provided with Optical Response Sheet to mark their answers.
  • Select the appropriate circle given against four options provided for each question.
  • This can be done by clicking on correct answer using virtual keypad.

AIIMS MBBS 2019 Important Instructions

Before applying for the exam candidate must thoroughly go through a set of instructions given below:

  • Mode of exam is only online.
  • Time duration of the exam will be 3 hours and 30 minutes.
  • Negative marking is applicable for every incorrect answer.
  • The question paper comprises total of 200 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge and Logical Reasoning.

AIIMS MBBS Syllabus 2019

Tie-Breaker in AIIMS MBBS 2019

The tie breaker will be determined as follows:

  • Candidate securing high percentile in Biology will be placed higher on the merit
  • In case of further tie, candidate obtaining high percentile in Chemistry will be placed higher at merit
  • In case of further tie, candidate securing high percentile in Physics will be placed at higher merit
  • If tie persists, candidate senior in age will be given priority.

Hello Garima, Candidate can take 3 attempts for MBBS 1st Professional Examination (Regular & supplementary)  and can take 4 attempts i.e. 02 regular plus 02 supplementary Examinations for 2nd Professional Examination/3rd Professional Examination.
