“Practice makes a man perfect- says Mayank ”

Mayank scored 450 marks in AIPMT 2015. He preferred NCERT textbooks for his AIPMT preparation. Here are some preparation tips that may help you in some better way.

Mayank preferred NCERT books first and then other refreshers. He practiced MCQs for Biology from GR Bathla and Arihant books. For Chemistry, he preferred RC Mukherjee (physical chemistry), GR Bathla (inorganic chemistry) and Jagadamba (organic chemistry). Being attentive in class, was his strategy for the good performance in Physics. He says, a bit of theory before practicing numerical clears most of the doubts. He only followed his coaching notes and solved previous year questions many times.

Ans. I joined Omka ra classes and its regular test series was very much effective for my AIPMT preparation.

Q. How did you manage AIPMT preparations along with your Class 12th exams?

Ans. My main emphasis was to clear the concepts and perform well in the board exams and after board exams, I laid my focus on solving more & more MCQs and did revisions.

Q. What were your Strong and Weak areas? How did you prepare and what special efforts did you put for improving them?

Ans. I was strong in physics so, I gave it less time than that of other subjects. I was almost okay in chemistry but still was not that strong enough in organic so, I gave it more time. Biology was my strongest point but I put more focus on solving as much MCQs as I could.

Q. What is your Five Point Rule to excel AIPMT 2016?

Ans. 1. To remain attentive in the class.
2. To revise the subject matter taught on the same day.
3. Practice as much MCQs as I could.
4. To clear my concepts.
5. To attend each and every test.
6. Post-test analysis is most important.

Q. What mock papers did you take?

Ans. During the final month I joined Aakash test series as it was an online & all India level test series so, it was very helpful to know about my preparation and my all India ranking.

Q. Websites you followed regularly for practicing sample papers and get updates?

Ans. I did not give much importance to the online sample papers or online materials but when I had any doubt I simply searched it on google or asked my teachers.

Q. Share your thoughts on the Strategy for the aspirant who is starting 4 months before the exam.

Ans. Master the concepts and try to eliminate each and every single bit of doubt that is present. Practice a lot.

Q. What are the things you would like to go back in time and change to get into a better college?

Ans. I did not perform as I expected. I must had done more hard work to get into one of the top 10 colleges in India.
