ATIT 2017 SYLLABUS

NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST

ATIT 2017 exam comprises four subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. The exam will be held in both online and offline mode. IFHE University, Hyderabad conducts **ATIT** exam for admissions into B.Tech courses in ICFAI university. ATIT 2017 application form will be available from April 2017. Candidates can fill the application form on the official website of ICFAI university. ATIT syllabus majorly comprises the 12^{th} class syllabus. ATIT paper will contain 120 multiple choice questions. Each question will have four options out of which one answer is correct. The total duration of the exam is two hours. Check the following table to know the **ATIT Exam Pattern** as mentioned below:

This is the scoring section for candidates in ATIT examination. Reading comprehension is quite easy to attempt. It consists of 30 questions in the exam. The following topics are asked in the examination as mentioned below:

Reading Comprehension, Diction, Formation of Effective Sentences, Sentence Completion, Vocabulary, Common Errors.

The major topics with their sub-topics asked in physics section are given in the table below. This section consists of 30 questions in the examination. The topics are categorized under separate units to provide a fair idea to the candidates.

Work, Energy and Power | Concept of work, energy and power. Energy – kinetic and potential. Conservation of energy and its applications, Elastic collisions in one and two dimensions. Different forms of energy. |

Rotational Motion and Moment of Inertia | Centre of mass of a two-particle system. Centre of mass of a rigid body, general motion of a rigid body, nature of rotational motion, torque, angular momentum, its conservation and applications. |

Gravitation | Acceleration due to gravity, one and two-dimensional motion under gravity. Universal law of gravitation, variation in the acceleration due to gravity of the earth. |

Solids and Fluids | Inter-atomic and Inter-molecular forces, states of matter. |

Oscillations | Periodic motion, simple harmonic motion and its equation of motion, energy in S.H.M., Oscillations of a spring and simple pendulum. |

Waves | Wave motion, speed of a wave, free and forced Oscillations, resonance, vibration of strings and air-columns, beats, Doppler effect. |

Heat and Thermodynamics | Thermal expansion of solids, liquids and gases and their specific heats, first law of thermodynamics. |

Transference of Heat | Modes of transference of heat. Thermal conductivity. |

Electrostatics | Electric charge – its unit and conservation, Coulomb’s law, dielectric constant, electric field, lines of force, electric flux, Gauss’s theorem and its applications. |

Current Electricity | Electric current and its unit |

Thermal and Chemical Effects of Currents | Heating effects of current, electric power. |

Magnetic Effects of Currents | Oersted’s experiment, BioSavert’s law, magnetic field due to straight wire, circular loop and solenoid. |

Magnetostatics | Bar magnet, magnetic field, lines of force, torque on a bar magnet in a magnetic field, earth’s magnetic field. |

Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents | Induced e.m.f., Faraday’s Law, Lenz’s Law, Self and Mutual Inductance. |

Ray Optics | Reflection and refraction of light at plane and curved surfaces |

Wave Optics | Wave nature of light. |

Electromagnetic Waves | Electromagnetic waves and their characteristics |

Electron and Photons | Charge on an electron, e/m for an electron, photoelectric effect |

Atoms, Molecules and Nuclei | Alpha - particles scattering experiment, Atomic masses, size of the nucleus; radioactivity. |

Solids and Semi-Conductor Devices | : Energy bands in solids, conductors, insulators and semi-conductors. |

Nuclear Chemistry | Nature of radiations from radioactive substances. |

Hydrocarbons | Classification. Sources of hydrocarbons. |

The difficulty level of Mathematics section in ATIT 2017 is slightly higher than other sections. Owing to vast syllabus and difficult questions, the average marks scored in this section is lower than the other sections. Check the complete syllabus for mathematics in the table below:

Two-Dimensional Geometry | Recall of Cartesian system of rectangular co-ordinates in a plane, distance formula, area of a triangle, condition for the collinearity of three points and section formula, centroid and in-centre of a triangle, locus and its equation. |

Three-Dimensional Geometry | Coordinates of a point in space, distance between two points; Section formula, direction ratios and direction cosines, angle between two intersecting lines. |

Vector Algebra | Vectors and Scalars, addition of vectors, components of a vector in two dimensions and three-dimensional space. |

Measures of Central Tendency and Dispersion | Calculation of Mean, median and mode of grouped and ungrouped data. |

Probability | Probability of an event, addition and multiplication theorems of probability and their applications. |

Trigonometry | Trigonometrical identities and equations. Inverse trigonometric functions and their properties. |
