Ques. What is the BHU PET cut off for different subjects?
● Top Answer By Rupsha Sen on 25 Jan 21
Ans.The cut-off marks differ from subject to subject in the case of the BHU PET admission procedure. But most importantly, it depends on the opted course. For a student to select his/her choice subject in a particular course, they have to secure themselves a position within the top 100 ranks. The cut-off marks list of a few subjects, for the year 2020, has been published on the official site. The cut-off range is given below. Subject Cutoff M.A. English 530-598 M.A. Hindi 875-899 M.sc Physics 267-278 M.sc Geophysics 156-179 As a general student, you will need to score a 75% mark at minimum to be on the safe side of the admission procedure. As per the new rule which was implemented in the year 2019, the minimum percentile to be scored by each category is – General and OBC – 35% Sc/ST/PWD – 25% This is the current percentile cut-off for each category. Ques. What is a recommended book for the BHU PET entrance exam for an MA in economics?
● Top Answer By Deepak Tiwari on 25 Jan 21
Ans.In earlier question papers, you can notice that the stress was laid primarily on Economics (40%), Math’s (40%), and Indian Economy questions (20%). But with the onset of 2019, the pattern was changed. Now, the focus of the questions are on - English grammar (std. 4th level) and objective math questions such as upstream/downstream questions, simple interest, ratio proportion, etc. In other words, the mathematics questions were akin to the questions asked in Bank Clerical Exams. Previous Years Question Paper: An example of the official question which was asked in the 2019 question paper was – “What is the technical word for the person who cleans the windows?” On analyzing this question, one can say that this question has no relation to the economic stream of study whatsoever. The pattern of the entrance is similar to the previous year’s pattern. Recommended Books: The list of books which you can follow, as per the changed examination pattern in the year 2019 and 2020, are as follows. Books Author Objective Quantitative Aptitude R.S. Aggarwal Objective General English R.S. Aggarwal Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning R.S. Aggarwal Current Affairs R.S. Aggarwal If you are aware of any other book, by any other author, designed for the bank clerical examinations then, you can prepare from those books as well. The above-recommended books are selected and short-listed based on three factors- Changed entrance pattern in 2019. References from appeared students. Objective Overview of PET. When you appear for other entrances of economics, such as The Delhi School of Economics Entrance, ISI MSQE entrance, etc. you feel a sense of challenge. You develop a sense of intellectuality which later on transforms into satisfaction, irrespective of the success in the entrance or not. However, this feeling is absent in the BHU PET entrance exams. In this case, you will feel like you have appeared for a bank clerical exam of the railway recruitment board owing to the type of questions asked of the economics-based students. Following the above-mentioned entrance pattern, getting admitted through BHU PET is achievable if you are well-prepared for Bank clerical exams. Thus, it won’t be extremely tough if you are aware and prepared accordingly.Read more
Ques. What is the syllabus for BHU PET Statistics?
● Top Answer By Himani Nayak on 25 Jan 21
Ans.The first issue which you might face while preparing for the PET entrance examination for BHU is the lack of detailed information regarding the syllabus for the examination. A detailed syllabus is not given in the M.sc entrance information brochure for the BHU PET. The only piece of relevant information is regarding the type of questions in the entrance paper- the questions which will be present in the question paper will be taken from the syllabus which is taught in BHU U.G. (B.sc/ BA Statistics) course. However, this does not apply to all the courses because the syllabus for the UG course varies from one university to another. Therefore, a student can’t know for sure if the chapters taught to them by their respective university is included in the BHU curriculum or not unless he/she has a concrete syllabus in their hands from BHU. Previous year questions: If you are unfamiliar with the syllabus of BHU or haven't been a former student of BHU in the past, go through the previous year’s question papers. You can find it easily on the BHU official website Statistics Syllabus: To answer the above question, for a Statistics paper you need to be well-versed with the concepts of statistics which he/she studied in their graduation days. The question paper division for Statistics paper (2020) is as follows. Total Duration – 150 minutes for the entire paper Total number of questions asked – 150 questions Segregation of the questions- 125 questions from the area of statistics and 25 questions will be along the baseline of statistical computing with the use of high-level language programming like FORTRAN and C. Revision of the previous year's question papers will give you a sense of familiarity with the topics covered, therefore, you can keep a note of the important topics to be covered for the entrance. This will ensure the attainment of high marks.Read more
Ques. How should I prepare for the BHU PET in zoology?
● Top Answer By Samar Majhi on 16 Jan 21
Ans.For the BHU PET Examination for masters in Zoology requires the candidates to have a fair knowledge of Zoology concepts till graduation level. The examination is to measure your control and awareness over the syllabus of zoology and the concepts covered. The table below shows the expected cut-offs for M.Sc Zoology in BHU PET, according to recent data. Category Cut-off General 90-105 OBC 47-67 SC 44-68 ST 30-48 BHU General 65-79 BHU OBC 28-38 BHU SC 16-28 BHU ST 2-8 Key highlights for the preparation of BHU PET in zoology: Candidates should have a clear concept about the topics of zoology till graduation level. The candidates may go through past year papers for understanding examination patterns and topics. Concepts about topics that are not in the syllabus for undergraduates and having a solid foundation of basic principles may help the candidate during the interview. For instance, some of the off-topics my friend came across were Genetic Modification experiments on animals and plants and the stage of commercial exploitation that happens due to this in countries like India. In addition, how can Genetic Modification help India in the production of food fauna on a large scale, is another experimental approach she worked on. Destruction of stabilized Gene pool in Indian fauna due to GM experiments is another topic with a huge resource. The third-year B.Sc syllabus of Zoology generally has the maximum importance and should be covered as much as possible. Time management is an important aspect of every entrance exam. Solving previous year and model question papers helps in framing the timeframe and most feasible approach for BHU PET.Read more
