Ques. What should I read to take the BHU UET test in B.A. (social sciences)?

● Top Answer By Anubhav Singh on 20 Jan 21

Ans. There isn’t any specific book for the preparation of BHU UET Test in B.A. (Social science). You must go through the previous year’s questions of B.A. B.H.U from Banaras Hindu University. You can also refer to Arihant B.H.U entrance books. The general studies book can also be helpful.   You should make notes from sociology and economics both as it will help to enhance your chances.  Social sciences has turned into a co-ed so the merit is higher than before in every entrance now. Students should prepare as much as they can and follow the previous year’s papers. Students referring to general studies books will get the general knowledge of every subject such as history, geography, economics, political science, etc.  The book recommended for the preparation of general knowledge is Lucent General Knowledge. These are the ways through which students can prepare for the BHU UET test in B.A. (Social Sciences). Books recommended Prices Arihant BHU Entrance books Rs. 269 Lucent General Knowledge Rs. 160 Previous year question papers Rs. 250 Things students should keep in mind at the time of preparation –  The actual solutions should be focused upon rather than mugging up the whole facts.  A separate notebook should be made for preparation. The target should be to score 200+ for admission to the main campus. Keep updated with day to day news  If you are an applicant then you should have a basic knowledge of sociology and psychology. You can refer to any basic book as only an elementary level of knowledge is required. As the questions aren’t so huge, one can simply score by practicing a bit. Ques. What is the syllabus for the BHU UET BSc in Maths (Hons)?

● Top Answer By Sweta Singh on 20 Jan 21

Ans. It is hard to decide on any particular book for qualifying for the exam. Though, students must have good command over their 10+2 syllabus. Students preparing for JEE or medical indeed have an added advantage as some of the questions are tougher than the 10+2 level.  Here are a few of the recommendations based on each subject: PHYSICS:  The book recommended for physics is HC Verma. It is more than enough for covering the physics syllabus. Students may skip the tough questions and problems.  The concept should be very clear among the students for solving the questions and problems.  Numericals are mostly average level, so you won’t need HC Verma’s level of intelligence to solve these. You can also opt for reference books recommended for the 10+2 syllabus. MATHEMATICS  You should know about the relations and functions along with their notations. The recommended book for mathematics is RD Sharma.  Focus more on complex numbers as it is the second most important chapter. It is indeed regarded as the toughest part of the paper.  You shouldn’t only rely upon 10+2 books as it may hamper their chances. The previous year’s papers need to be solved accordingly for better preparation.  The binary system should also be looked upon as two questions come from it every year.   CHEMISTRY This is one of the easiest and most scoring subjects as there is no need of referring to any other book except the 10+2 level reference books.  With the help of reference books from 10+2, you can easily score 100+ out of 150 with the least effort. Though, with good efforts, you can achieve a 125+ score which will further boost your chances.  Mentioned below are certain facts about BHU UET.  Conducting Body Banaras Hindu University Exam duration 2 hours 30 minutes  No. of questions and Marks  150 and 450 respectively Availability of seats   8000 (approximately) Courses available B.A. (Hons), B. Com (Hons), LLB (Hons), LLB, B. P. Ed, BPA, BFA, B. Voc., B. Ed,  Eligibility Criteria 50% in Boards Students should go through last year’s questions which will give them an overview of the nature of the questions. No matter which book students refer to, they should be able to solve last year's questions.Read more

Ques. What are the general cut-off marks for BHU UET B.A. (Social Sciences) for general category?

● Top Answer By Anurag Munshi on 20 Jan 21

Ans. Applicants often get anxious after the announcement of BHU UET results thinking about the cut-off marks for B.A. Social Science. As per the stats of 2018, students secured AIR 28 rank after scoring 277 marks. This implies that the highest score may be around 305-320 approximately.  Students scoring 196 marks had a general rank of 1471 while those scoring 194 marks had a general ranking of 1,573. This shows a major rank difference in comparison to marks. In 2016, the cut-off rank for the general category was 140 while the cut-off rank for the hostel was 160.  Though, with the introduction of Co-ed education, the competition definitely got tougher as the social science department was only for boys where they had to compete against each other.  After the Co-ed education, boys have to compete with girls which made the process tougher than before.   So, as per the stats of 2018, it can be estimated that 195 is the ideal mark for securing admission. Though, in 2018 the general cut-off rank was 1504 which can be estimated between 190 – 200 marks.  The table below consists of the data of the 2018 and 2019 admission stats of BHU UET B.A. (Social Sciences): Year Category Cut Off Rank Cut Off Marks 2019 General (Regular Category) 1629 193 General (Paid Seats) 2118 185 2018 General 1504 195 Students scoring 190 -200 marks indeed have a high probability to secure a seat under the general category while students scoring less than 190 may have to wait for another year.Read more

Ques. How tough is BHU's UET BSc Maths?

● Top Answer By Shashank Tiwary on 16 Jan 21

Ans. The entrance for BHU’s UET BSc Maths is tough but not in terms of the level of questions. It can be cracked with proper planning and strategy. If you prepared for JEE Main then you can easily score high marks in BHU’s entrance. There are three things which you need to do religiously for this entrance – Practice previous year's question papers. The more you practice, the more you will get acquainted with the type of questions, and also your speed of solving the questions will increase. The total time allotted to complete the question paper is 150 minutes and the duration is two and a half hours. Hence, the student needs to time out your sections skillfully. Assert one minute or even less than that to each question if you intend to complete the entire question paper within the estimated time. For this, the only thing you can do is practice. Set a timer and solve as many questions, correctly, as possible. H.C. Verma is a recommended book for this entrance. Solve the problem till you attain proficiency. The questions are designed in a way that examines the students' basic knowledge strength. If you are familiar with the previous year's question papers then you can solve the questions swiftly without much difficulty. The target score should be 190 and above. If you manage to score above 190 then the chances of getting an admission increases by a considerable margin.Read more

Ques. I have got 986 rank in BHU UET test for BA social science, will I get admission in BA social?

● Top Answer By Ruchika Mishra on 16 Jan 21

Ans. The chances of admission depend on two factors- rank in BHU UET and the total number of seats available. Given below is the breakage of the seats. VKM (For girls only) – 249 VCW (For girls) – 210 DAVPGC (For both boys and girls) -326 Now, keeping your rank in mind you have to check the availability of seats. If a student is from the general category, then they might have to wait it out for a bit longer because the first preference is given to the reserved category. If the rank comes below the number of seats, then the probability of getting a seat is 80%.  According to the cut-off ranks in the year 2019, if a student has secured a rank of 986 and belongs to any of these further mentioned categories- General or Obc, he/she might have a chance at securing a seat in BHU. This year's (2020) cut-off rank list has not been published yet by the university. They have only released the cut-off marks which are as follows. For the general category, the cut-off score is 230 marks. For the EWS category, it is 191 marks. For the OBC category, the cutoff-mark is 187. For the SC category, it is 97 marks. For the ST category, the cut-off was 46 marks. The only possible action in the current scenario is to compare the obtained marks with the above-mentioned cut-off score - if you have secured marks within the mentioned range, then is a possibility for your admission to be successful. If the situation goes the other way, you have to wait for the waiting list and the vacancy of seats (if any). The best thing to do in such scenarios is to wait for the official rank cutoff list. But you need to get a minimum score of 200 at best if you want to increase your chances of securing a seat in BHU.Read more
