BIT MCA 2020 Eligibility, Qualification and Age Limit

    Birla Institute of Technology Mesra commonly known as BIT Mesra welcomes the applications for admission into 3 years MCA program. Master in Computer Application program is also offered at different off campuses at Allahabad, Jaipur, Noida and Kolkata. The admissions will be made through the BIT Mesra MCA 2020 Entrance Test. BIT Mesra MCA Entrance Test is a paper-pen based.

    Writing any exam starts with its application process and the required eligibility. If you are eligible, then you can go for your exam! BIT MCA 2020 entrance exam is conducted by BIT Mesra for getting admission into 3 years (6 semesters) Master in Computer Application at its various campuses.

    BIT MCA 2020 Eligibility Criteria

    Given below is the BIT MCA 2020 Eligibility Criteria. Before moving to the application process, check your eligibility:

    1. Applicants should have passed with Mathematics/ Computer Science as one of the subjects in Class 12 or Equivalent Examination.
    2. Applicants must hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent of any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state assemblies/legislatures in India or other educational organizations set up by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or have an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India/AIU. This degree must involve at least 3 years of education after finishing higher secondary schooling (Class 12 or proportional).
    3. Aspiring candidates must have one of the below-mentioned qualifications:

    a) Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), or

    b) B.Sc. in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Electronics, or

    c) B.Sc. in Mathematics or statistics as one of the subjects at the graduate level.

    1. Applicants must have secured at least 55% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) marks an average in graduation. Marks to be computed as the average of marks got in all subjects in which the applicant has appeared.
    2. Applicants with B.Sc. Honors must have secured at least 55% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) marks on an average in their Honours subject.
    3. Candidates who are in their final year Bachelor's program can apply if they have acquired requisite marks or equivalent (according to item 4 or 5 above) taking into account the most recent available marks at the time of applying, and if chosen can join the program provisionally. At the time of documents verification cum admission, the candidate must get a declaration in original from the Principal of Institute expressing that:

    a) By June 30, 2020, the candidate would have appeared for the examination in all the subjects required for getting his Bachelor's Degree.

    b) Candidate must have secured essential marks or equivalent (according to item 4 or 5 above), based on most recent available evaluations/ marks.

    Candidate’s admission will be confirmed when he would present the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with requisite marks according to the item (4 or 5) above. The applicant should submit his proof of passing the last examinations with requisite marks by October 31, 2020. Non-satisfaction with this condition will consequently result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

    1. Applicants who have completed their qualification through correspondence or distance learning programs will be considered eligible only if

    (a) The programs that are done by the DEC-IGNOU,

    (b) Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination at the time of applying, with at least 55% marks in average (50% for SC/ST/PwD) calculated according to item (4 or 5) above. They should enclose photocopies of pass certification and mark sheets of qualifying examination with their application. (Appearing applicant in distance learning programs, whose results are yet to be announced, are not eligible to apply).

    Applicants who have graduated in foreign diplomas should see the EdCIL site for equivalence (edcil.co.in) and if required should acquire an equivalent certificate from the evaluation of the AIU (eee.aiuweb.org).

    1. If any Board or University grants grades rather than the marks, the estimation of equivalent marks would be based on the method recommended by the Board or the University. If a University does not have any plan for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be based on dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.

    2. At any level of the studies (Class X, Class XII or graduation), a candidate should have passed all the required subjects at the level from the same Board or University.
