BITSAT Syllabus 2018 has been announced by BITS Pilani with the release of the notification. The syllabus covers questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology based on NCERT Class 11 and 12 of Science stream. The exam also consists of questions based on English and Logical Reasoning. Candidates should prepare in accordance with the syllabus of BITSAT to ace the exam like a pro.

  • BITSAT Syllabus for Mathematics consists of 45 questions. This section can be said moderate to difficult on the scale of level of difficulty of exam.
  • BITSAT Syllabus for Biology includes 30 chapters from the CBSE syllabi of both class 11 and 12. In the Biology section, the topics from Class 11 hold more weightage than those of class 12. We infer that the maximum questions come from principles of inheritance and variation followed by molecular basis of inheritance and morphology of flowering plants. 
  • BITSAT Syllabus for Chemistry consists of 18 major topics which dominate the section with most of the questions. The maximum questions are asked from chemical bonding and molecular structure followed by equilibrium and hydrocarbons. 
  • BITSAT Syllabus for Physics comprises 23 chapters. This section is considered one of the toughest thresholds in BITSAT by many of the aspirants. Most of the questions are asked from Current Electricity, Semi- Co nductors and laws of motion. 
  • BITSAT Syllabus for English This section is sub-divided into two more sections- English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning. This section consists of 45 questions from English Proficiency and 10 questions from Logical Reasoning.

BITSAT Syllabus for Physics        

Physics section is the toughest section as claimed by candidates appearing for the exam. Here are few important key points about BITSAT Physics Syllabus:

  • There are a total of 40 MCQs in Physics section which carry 120 marks.
  • Maximum weightage is given to Mechanical properties followed by Current Electricity as inferred by the previous year analysis.
  • Less number of questions are asked from Kinematics, AC and Waves.

BITSAT Syllabus 2018: English & Logical Reasoning

  • BITSAT Syllabus Part 3 is divided into two sections, English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning.
  • There are 10 and 15 questions based on Logical Reasoning and English Proficiency respectively.

BITSAT Exam Pattern 2018

BITSAT Exam Pattern will help candidates understand various important elements related to the entrance exam like nature of questions, marking scheme, subject-wise marks distribution, total number of questions, etc. and ace the exam. Here are some of the major highlights of BITSAT 2018:

  • BITSAT is an online exam with objective type questions in English language.
  • The questions in the exam have to be answered by using the mouse as the keyboard will be disabled during the exam.
  • There are 4 sections in the exam namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology and English (Proficiency and Logical Reasoning).
  • There are 150 questions in total to be solved in 3 hours.
  • For every correct answer, 3 marks will be awarded and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
