CLAT 2021 Application Form has been released on January 1, 2021, on the official website. Candidates can register in online mode till March 31, 2021. CLAT 2021 has been rescheduled for June 13, 2021 from 2 PM to 4 PM. Candidates must go through detailed eligibility criteria before applying. Check CLAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria

If a candidate chooses to withdraw from CLAT 2021, the application fee shall be refunded after a deduction of INR 400 for SC/ST candidates and INR 500 for all other candidates towards processing charges. CLAT 2021 exam is announced to fill around 2500 UG seats and 720 PG seats. The exam is conducted for admission into 21 National Law Universities of India, along with many private institutes that use CLAT score for admission.

  • NLSIU Bangalore increased the total seats to 120 from 80. 
  • Several NLU’s offer domicile reservations except for NLSIU, Bangalore.

Pre-requisites to fill Application Form

Pre-requisites to fill CLAT Application Form

Before beginning with the CLAT application form 2021, candidates are advised to keep ready following documents before-hand.

  • An official email id- All communication will be transferred through this mail id.
  • Personal mobile number.
  • Residential address for communication.
  • Class 10th and 12th marksheets.
  • ID and address proof with proper details mentioned (Aadhar Card/ Driving License/ PAN Card)
  • Scanned passport size photograph (front facing; jpeg image; maximum size: 500kb).
  • Scanned signature in specified format (jpeg image; maximum size: 100kb)
  • Scanned copy of Caste Certificate in pdf format (for SC/ ST/ SAP candidates).
  • Scanned copy of state domicile certificate (format: pdf; maximum size: 2MB)
  • Certificates in support of Candidate’s claim for NRI/NRI sponsored candidate

Note: There is no need to send any hard copy of the application form to the CLAT Office.


How to fill Application Form?

How to fill CLAT Application Form 2021?

An increase is observed every year in CLAT Registration for LLB Program. For LLM Program, the registration number remains almost constant. Read below for detailed CLAT application procedure.

Step 1: Register on CLAT official website

In order to attempt CLAT 2021, candidates will have to first visit the official website of CLAT Consortium. After this, candidates have to click on the ‘Register’ tab and fill in all their personal details like name, mobile number, and password. On submission of details after clicking on the register button, candidates have to give confirmation to the details entered by them.

Then candidates are required to activate their account by entering their mobile number and OTP received on their personal numbers on the screen, and giving confirmation for activation. Once the account gets activated, candidates are required to log in to their accounts to proceed with further registration process.

Note(s) - 1) Name of the applicant and parents should be correctly spelled as mentioned in the certificates/ mark sheets/ ID proof. 

2) Any alterations found may result in rejection of the application.

3) Candidates submitting more than one application with the same ID and Mobile No., the last successful submission will be considered by the authorities.

Step 2: Fill CLAT Application Form 2021

After logging into the account, candidates will have to fill in the following personal details accurately. Any discrepancy in these details can raise chances for cancellation of application. After filling in all details, preview the application carefully and then click on ‘Submit’.

Note - NLU Patna does not offer any PG Program. If you choose PG Program in the preference list then it will be ignored.

Note: No change in category will be permitted after Final Submission of the online application.

For NLUJA Assam

1) The university extends State reservation on the basis of permanent residence.

2) For claiming reservation under this quota, choose Assam as the State of Residence.

Step 3: Payment of CLAT Application Fee

After uploading all documents, the final step is the payment of application fee. Candidates can pay the application fee in online mode using debit card/credit card/net banking; or offline mode using bank challan. Below mentioned is the fee for candidates belonging to different categories.

Note:

  •  CLAT application fee is non-refundable. Candidates will have to pay bank charges while making online application fee payment which will be displayed on the payment gateway.
  • Once the payment gets accepted, the CLAT 2021 application process is completed. A confirmatory message is sent to the candidate’s registered email id and mobile number.
  • For NUALS Kochi The University especially extends State reservation on the basis of the nativity. For claiming reservation under this quota, choose Kerala as the State of Nativity.

Ques. What are the reasons for rejection of Application Form?

Ans. Due to the following any one of the reason, the form might get rejected:

  1. An incomplete application form in any respect without uploading photo and signature
  2. An incomplete application form in respect of without fee payment will be rejected
  3. If face of candidate in the photograph or signature is unclear in the application, it may be rejected

Ques. How to recover a CLAT Form Password?

Ans. If any candidate forgot his/ her password of login page, it can be retrieved by following some simple steps:

  • Open the official website of CLAT
  • Click on ‘Apply Online’ link
  • Click on ‘Already Registered’ tab
  • Next, click on ‘Forgot Password’ link
  • Enter Registered Email ID
  • Enter characters as shown in the image
  • Click on ‘Retrieve Password’ tab

After doing the above steps, you will receive an email containing your password. Use the password for logging to CLAT 2021 website.

Ques. What should I do if there is a delay in accessing the application page?

Ans. There are various factors due to which the process of registration may be getting delayed. They are as follows:

  • Slow Internet Speed,
  • A large number of applicants trying to register at the same time etc.

Therefore if you are not able to access the page immediately, retry after a gap of 15 minutes or during off-peak hours i.e. during the night.

Ques. How will I know if I have registered successfully?

Ans. Successfully registered candidates will be sent a prompt Email or SMS informing the status of the application. The communication method will carry the login credentials i.e. Registration No. and Password. Make sure to note down the same for future processes like filling in the form again and downloading CLAT Admit Card.

Ques. Will the concerned candidate be given an Application form correction facility if there is any error?

Ans. No, there is no facility to make corrections in the form. Information once furnished can not be modified at later stages. Therefore, it is suggested to read instructions carefully, enter the information correctly and preview the form before final submission.

Ques. What is the CLAT 2021 Application fee defined by the university authority?

Ans. CLAT 2021 Application fee as defined by the institute is given below:

  • For General Category Candidates- INR 4000 & 
  • For SC/ST Category Candidates- INR 3500.

Ans. CLAT 2021 Application form procedure will be available online in the university website- consortiumofnlus.ac.in

Ques. Will the concerned candidate be intimidated about their CLAT 2021 registration online?

Ans. Successful Registration will prompt an e-mail communication or SMS after the clicking on the ‘Submit’ Button. The Email/ SMS will have the generated "Registration No." and "Password". Note down these credentials carefully and preserve it for future references.

Hi, Registrations for the examination closed on 10th July 2020. The exam will be conducted on 28th September 2020. NOTE:As per Government of India guidelines COVID-19 positive candidates won't be allowed.

Hi Sunny, The candidate must have passed Class 12th with a minimum of 45% of marks. ... Candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories must have a minimum of 40% of marks in Class 12th to be eligible for the entrance exam.

Hello Kaukab, CLAT eligibility criteria- In class 12th or equivalent examination, they must have secured:

For Unreserved /OBC /Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and other categories – A minimum of 45% marks required.

For SC/ST Category – A minimum of 40% marks required.
