    CLAT Quantitative Techniques section is a section that will test your basic mathematical abilities. It is basically one of the shortest and simplest sections in the paper. The paper only accounts for around 10% of the total predicted weightage for CLAT 2021.

    How to Prepare for CLAT Quantitative Techniques?

    CLAT Quantitative Techniques section is one of the most scoring sections in CLAT. Preparing well for this section will ensure that you have 20 marks in the bag easily. This section is also extremely quick to solve once you have enough practise with different questions. Here are some CLAT Quantitative Techniques study guides and preparation tips - 

    • Work on your basics: This is the most important step for this section. If your basics are not clear, you will not be able to attempt any question on time. Go back to your 8th standard textbooks if there is something you did not understand. 
    • Practise: This section cannot be aced without regular practise. You do not need to devote a lot of time to it, but give at least 40-45 minutes daily to solving Quantitative Techniques. Incorporate it into your daily schedule. 
    • Solve Mock Tests, Sample Papers and Previous Year Papers: By solving question papers you will have an idea of how the structure of the paper works. You will also recognize how fast you can solve the papers and where you can improve. 
    • Use Shortcuts: There is a better and more efficient way to solve most questions. These methods can be found online on various platforms. When practising for a question, look for such techniques and practise that way. Remember, you will not be getting any marks for the steps. You will just be marked for the right answer. 
    • Work on your accuracy: You have to make sure that the calculations that you do are correct. A silly mistake of any kind will cost you 0.25 of the marks that you have gotten, so your accuracy matters for this section quite a lot.

    Q1. Is it necessary to attempt all the questions in Quantitative Techniques?

    Ans. No, it is not necessary to attempt all the questions in the Quantitative Techniques section. You should, however, note that for every wrong answer there will be a penalty of 0.25 marks. So, it is recommended that you should attempt the questions that you are confident about.

    Q2. How important is the Quantitative Techniques section for CLAT?

    Ans. Quantitative Techniques does not carry a lot of weightage, as it is only around 10% of the total weightage. However, the importance of this section comes from how easy it is to score. It can also be solved within a short time to solve the questions that take longer.
