 The organizing body does not release a cut off to shortlist candidates for the selection process since there is no centralized admission process. However, colleges that accept CMAT Scores will release individual CMAT Cutoff marks after the announcement of result. CMAT 2020 is set to be conducted on January 28, 2020 and the result will be released on February 7, 2020. CMAT 2020 Registration began on November 1, 2019.   • CMAT Cut off is the minimum marks required for a candidate to successfully secure a seat in AICTE approved PGDM and MBA programs across the country.
  • In accordance with the previous year's IMS expert prediction, a score of at least 235-240 could land a candidate for GD & PI round at B-schools like GIM, whereas a score of at least 275-280 can help candidates to get a call from an institute like KJSOM.

Factors Influencing CMAT Cut-off 2020

Cut-off released by the CMAT participating institutes will depend on the following factors:

  • Number of candidates passing the exam
  • Number of seats available
  • Level of difficulty of the CMAT question paper

CMAT 2020 Score Calculation 

Steps to calculate raw score for CMAT 2020

  1. Note down all the correct and incorrect answers in the paper 
  2. For each correct answer, add 4 points
  3. For each incorrect answer , deduct 1 mark
  4. There is no negative marking for any question that is unanswered
  5. Total score will be calculated out of 400

  • CMAT Scorecard will contain both the candidate’s raw scores and percentile scores 

  • The raw scores are normalized and then converted into percentile scores

  • CMAT Percentile is calculated on the basis of the rank that is allotted to the candidate 

  • Scores are adjusted for scale and location differences in the normalization process

Calculating CMAT Rank

  • Ranks are given to the candidate on the basis of the marks scored by them in the exam
  • Candidate who scores the highest attains All India Rank 1
  • If two candidates attain the same score, rank is alloted on the basis of their sectional scores 

Calculating CMAT Percentile

  • To calculate their percentile, candidates need to multiply the number of candidates that sat for the examination that have equal raw marks with a 100 and divide it by the total number of candidates that appeared for the examination
  • For eg. If a candidate has gotten the first rank, his CMAT percentile score will be calculated in the following manner: 100 x 9999/10,000 = 99.99
