Students can visit the GOAPS portal @gate.iitb.ac.in to make changes in their applications or can visit the direct link given below. Candidates may have to pay the difference fees depending on the type of correction made. GATE 2021 Form Correction can be done by logging in with your enrolment number and password at the official website – gate.iitb.ac.in.

After submitting the application form, it goes under scrutiny where the form is checked as per the specifications mentioned in GATE Information Brochure. In case, any mistake/ defect is found, the same is informed to the candidates through their registered email IDs for the rectification. Additional fee payment, if applicable, will have to be paid by the candidates.
Type of corrections in GATE Application Form (against each correction, a document as a proof for correction is also required) are mentioned below-

Male to Female: Difference fees will not be refunded,

As only certain details can be edited in GATE Application Form and if the mistakes cannot be rectified then you have to apply again for GATE 2021 with a new E-mail ID and Phone Number. It must be noted that the previous application fee shall not be refunded.
Candidates can follow the below given steps to make correction in GATE Application Form:
Step 1: Login at GOAPS website
Step 2: Enter Enrollment ID/Email Address, Password and Captcha.
Step 3: Click on Edit GATE Application Form and make the changes.
Step 4: After making the changes, verify before saving the application form and then Save and View Application.
Step 5: Submit and Proceed to Payment after verifying all the changes.

For GATE 2021, there have been certain changes in the form correction fees. According to the official notice, change of examination city will be free while change in category, gender and/ or paper will cost an additional amount. Studnet must note that there will be NO REFUND of the fee paid.

The exam authority allows candidates to view GATE Application Form Status after they submit their application forms. Any defects or incomplete data can also be checked through GATE Application Form Status at the official website of GOAPS.
The steps to check the status of the online form are the same as completing the registration. Successfully registered candidates need to log in at GOAPS with Enrollment ID/Email Address and Password.

Ques. I have submitted wrong information in the Application Form. Can I change that?
Ans. Yes, you can change the information in the Application Form. Examination authority gives the candidates an opportunity once to edit their mistakes in the Application form.
Ques. What are the changes that I can make during the Application Form correction period?
Ans. Candidates can make corrections in the Application form at the time of opening of the correction window. Candidates can correct the information like candidate’s name, date of birth, name of parent/ guardian, qualifying degree and the year of qualifying degree.
Ques. Is there any extra fee charged for making correction in the Application Form?
Ans. Yes, you have to make some extra payment using GOAPS
Ques. When will the correction window close?
Ans. The correction window will be open from October 28 to November 13, 2020. After which no request for the changes in the application form will be accepted.
Ques. While filling in the application form, I made a mistake in filling my name. Will I be able to correct this?
Ans. Yes, you can correct your name on the GATE Application Form.
Ques. Can I change my mobile number or Email ID after I have submitted my GATE 2020 Application Form?
Ans. No, you cannot change your mobile number and email ID once you have submitted the form.
Ques. Am I allowed to change my GATE 2021 Exam City centre after the submission of GATE 2021 Application Form?
Ans. Yes, you can make a request for the change of examination city centre from October 28 to November 13, 2020, with an additional fee to be paid online using GOAPS.
Ques. I have selected a wrong paper. What should I do?
Ans. You can fill a new application form with a new email address and choose the correct paper for examination. The previous mobile number can be used for filling a new application form. Application Fee will not be refunded once it’s paid even in the case of submission of incorrect application form
Ques. Can I change my category in GATE Application Form?
Ans. Yes, you can change your category via logging into GOAPS and click on ‘change personal data’. Change your category and verify all the details before the final submission.
Ques. Do I have to pay any additional fee for changing category? If yes then how much?
Ans. You have to pay a fee of INR 750 in case of category change from SC/ ST to General/ OBC (not applicable to female and PwD candidates). The additional fee will not be refunded.
Ques. I want to make changes in my gender in the GATE 2021 Application Form. What should I do?
Ans. To change the gender from Male/ other to Female, you will have to login into GOAPS and click on "change personal data". After making changes verify the information before the final submission. After submission, you have to pay the non-refundable additional fee of INR 750.
Ques. My application status of GATE shows "Under Scrutiny". What does it mean?
Ans. IIT Bombay will check the GATE applications for any discrepancies in photograph or signature. If the status shows "Under Scrutiny" it is fine. Once they will check all the details, the status will be changed to "Successful Submission".
Ques. How will I know that there are some defects in my GATE application form?
Ans. In case of any defect in the application form, you will receive a mail regarding defects in their application forms and their status. Once rectified, the application status will reflect "Under Scrutiny" till it gets cleared by IIT Bombay.
Ques. Am I allowed to make changes once the Application form correction window gets closed?
Ans. No, you are not allowed to make changes after the closure of the correction window.
Ques. Can I make changes twice in the Application Form?
Ans. Yes, you can but into the stipulated time for Application Form correction. You have to pay an additional non-refundable fee after the completion of the correction process.
