GPAT 2019 ELIGIBILITY
NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) is a PAN India level entrance exam conducted for admission to the Pharmacy programs at the masters’ level offered by various NTA approved Pharmacy colleges/institutions. GPAT is conducted and managed by the NTA (National Testing Agency).
Before applying for GPAT 2019, candidates should go through GPAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria and check whether they are eligible or not. The basic GPAT 2019 eligibility for candidates is a Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
GPAT Application Form filling for the 2019 session started from November 01, 2019. The last date of applying to GPAT Exam was November 30, 2019.
Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria notified by NTA can only appear for GPAT 2019 exam. In order to appear for GPAT 2019, candidates should fulfill the below GPAT 2019 eligibility criteria:
The candidates willing to appear for GPAT must be Indian citizens.
There are no age restriction criteria specified by NTA to appear for GPAT 2019 exam.
As per the Persons with Disability (PwD) Act, 1995, a candidate appearing for GPAT exam, qualifies to be a PwD candidate if he/she is suffering from any of the below listed disabilities. The extent of physical disability should be at least 40% as prescribed by a recognized medical committee. The categories for PwD candidates as defined by the NTA are discussed below:
Persons with Disability candidates are also provided with approved means of teaching assistance, as chosen by the candidate on his/her application form. The form of teaching assistance provided for different types of the PwD candidates is presented below in the table:

Visually impaired and cerebral palsy candidates are allowed to bring a reader/scribe as per the scribe form mentioned on the GPAT website. Moreover, candidates can also avail the scribe facility from the NTA.
Candidates opting for scribe/reader will be given the opportunity to interact with them a day before the GPAT 2019 examination. Once the candidate has met with his/her scribe, he/she will be required to submit an undertaking regarding the same.
It must be noted that candidates with scribes/readers will be provided with a time extension of one hour for the computer-based exam.
Any visually challenged candidate who wants to opt for a scribe/reader is required to fulfill certain eligibility criteria. GPAT 2019 eligibility criteria for a scribe/reader is as follows:
NOTE: It must be noted that the age certificate of the scribe must be presented at the test center.
Candidates must note that in case any of the above-mentioned criteria are not met by the scribe/reader, then he/she will not be permitted to assist the PwD candidate for the GPAT 2019 exam.
Ques. Is there any age restriction for appearing in GPAT?
Ans. No, there is no upper age limit for appearing in GPAT.
Ques. I belong to Mumbai. I want to take admission in B. Pharmacy. Should I need to appear in GPAT 2019? Is the test valid for Maharashtra students?
Ans. GPAT 2019 is not meant for getting admission into B. Pharmacy course for any state in India. For admission into B. Pharm course, every state has a policy. GPAT 2019 is valid for all the states and Union Territories in India for admissions into postgraduate in Pharmacy courses.
Ques. I am a B. Pharmacy third year student. Am I eligible for GPAT 2019?
Ans. No, only candidates who are in the final year of B.Pharm course and the candidates who have completed the course earlier are eligible.
Ques. I am a Nepali student studying in B. Pharmacy final year in India. Can I appear in GPAT 2019 examination?
Ans. Yes, you can appear in GPAT 2019 examination but your admission into a PG course in pharmacy and scholarship will be governed by the rules and norms set by MHRD, Government of India.
Ques. I belong to SC/ST category. How many seats in M. Pharm are reserved for SC/ST category students? OR If I qualify in GPAT 2019 Examination then am I assured of scholarship in M. Pharm?
Ans. Qualifying in GPAT 2019 examination with a score card having “Qualified for scholarship and admission into M. Pharmacy” is the minimum eligibility condition for getting a scholarship in M. Pharm course. There is no reservation criteria for GPAT 2019 admissions. Seats of M. Pharm are reserved as per state/central government policy. Scholarship to the GPAT 2019 qualified candidates would be given by AICTE as per the rules/norms prevailing at that time.
Ques. Am I eligible for registration for Ph. D. after qualifying in GPAT 2019 examination?
Ans. GPAT 2019 score card is valid only for 1 year. This scorecard is valid only for pursuing the M.Pharm course. However, if a candidate completes the M.Pharm course and is interested in PhD degree then this scorecard is valid for 1 more year. And applicants need not appear in any PhD entrance examination.
