IBPS PO 2019 CUTOFF
NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Board releases IBPS PO Cut off separately for Prelims and Mains. Last year, the final cut off score (Prelims) for SC and SC category was 53.20 and 54.74 respectively. Whereas for OBC and UR the scores were 57.18 and 65.58. For Mains, the cut-offs for SC category was 62.50, ST it was 42.25 and for General category, it was 82 only.
Candidates who qualify in each of the three sections of the preliminary exam, securing the minimum qualifying cut off, will be able to sit for the mains exam. This year, IBPS PO Prelims 2019 is scheduled for October 12, 13, 19 and 20, 2019 in online (computer-based) mode.

Q1) When will the results of preliminary exam get declared?
Ans. The result regarding whether a candidate has been selected for mains examination will get declared either in last week of October 2018 or in 1st week of November 2018(tentatively).
Q2) How much will I need to score to clear the preliminary exam?
Ans. The cutoff varies from year to year. In 2017, the cutoff for General Category was 42.75 (out of 100).
Q3) What if I score more than overall cutoff but do not clear the sectional cutoff of a section, will I be considered for mains exam?
Ans. No, one needs to clear the sectional cutoff for all the sections, along with the overall cutoff.
Q4) When will the results of Mains exam get declared?
Ans. The results of mains exam will tentatively be declared in December 2018.
Q5) What was the cutoff for IBPO PO Main exam last year?
Ans. For general category, the cutoff was 82 out of 225 (for 2017).
Q6) How can I check my mains exam score?
Ans. For this, you will need to visit www.ibps.in. On the homepage, you will see a notification for ‘Click here to view your Online Main Examination for IBPS PO/MT’. After clicking on this link, you can enter your login credentials and your result will be displayed.
Q7) When will the final results get declared?
Ans. The results and provision allotments will start in April 2019.
Q8) Are scores of preliminary exam also considered during final selection?
Ans. No, only the scores of Mains examination and Interview will be considered, in the ratio of 80:20.
Q9) Are the final scores given out of 100?
Ans. Yes. As mentioned above, from 100, 80 marks will be calculated from Mains exam score and 20 will be from Interview score.
Q10) How are marks of Mains exam, which are out of 225, converted into ‘out of 80’?
Ans. Let us take an example for this. Suppose you scored 112.5 out of 225 in the Mains examination. Your score for final merit will be taken as (112.5/225)*80 = 40 marks.
Q11) Is there any minimum score for interview as well?
Ans. Yes, a General Category candidate needs to score at least 40% marks in the interview, While SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates need to score at least 35% marks. In case any fails to score minimum marks, he/she will not be considered for provision allotment.
Q12) What was the cutoff for final selection last year?
Ans. In 2016, the maximum score for final selection was 57.40 (out of 100), and minimum score was 39.90 for General Category.
Q13) Is any waiting/reserve list also released?
Ans. Yes, a reserve list is also released. In 2016, the cutoff for reserve list (for general category) was 39.40.
Q14) I am not satisfied with my mains exam score, what can I do?
Ans. You can report any issue regarding IBPS on www.cgrs.ibps.in, which is the official portal of Central Grievance Redressal System.
Q15) Will IBPS provide me the answer key or answer sheet for the exam?
Ans. No, IBPS will not release either of them.
Q16) I am not satisfied with my interview score, can I review it?
Ans. There is no option/provision for review of Interview marks.
Q17) Can I use my current scores for next year’s IBPS PO recruitment?
Ans. No, scores are valid for one year only.
Q18) If I have scored just above the cutoff score in Main exam, what are my chances for final list?
Ans. This depends totally upon your relative performance in the interview. If you have been shortlisted for Interview, it is advisable that you prepare well for it.
Q19) What if my scores are equal to someone, how will the tie be resolved?
Ans. In case of a tie, the candidate with higher age will be preferred.
Q20) On what basis I will be allotted job in any bank?
Ans. The provisional allotment depends on two factors, scores of candidates, and preferences given by them in the application form. Taking these two things into account, you will be allotted jobs.
