IBSAT 2020 SYLLABUS
NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
IBSAT Syllabus 2020 is not officially released by the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education. However, based on previous year question papers and analysis’, we have curated below the most important topics for IBSAT 2020. The exam is scheduled for December 21 and 22 in a computer-based format. The last date to apply online is December 12, 2020.
The syllabus of IBSAT 2020 is based on the curriculum of class 10+2 and although it does not include a section on general awareness, candidates should have a basic understanding of the same to crack the GD and PI rounds of the top ICFAI business schools. IBSAT 2020 will evaluate a candidate’s quantitative, verbal/reading, data interpretation and reasoning skills through a 2 hour objective exam comprised of 140 questions. Candidates’ should assess the syllabus based on the weightage of the section (i.e. verbal ability weighs for more than 30 percent of the exam) and difficulty of the section in previous papers.

Candidates must be thorough with IBSAT Syllabus and Exam Pattern before they begin with their preparation. The exam is generally of easy to moderate difficulty level. A total of 25% is specified for this written exam in IBSAT Selection Process. Read on to know about the topics from which questions are generally asked in the examination. Verbal Ability questions test a candidates’ acquaintance with English and its usage. The section has highest weightage in the exam i.e. 50 questions of total 50 marks.
The curriculum in ICFAI Business School involve a frequent application of English and hence the same is tested in the exam. There are 4 sub-sections under verbal ability and all the questions are derived from the topics mentioned below.

There are 30 questions in the Reading Comprehension section that candidates have to attempt. The section comprises of three unseen passages with eight questions dedicated to each passage. The passages generally range from 500 to 600 words.
The questions asked in this section are direct and seek factual answers. Difficulty level is moderate with only a few surprise questions. Through this section, a candidate’s comprehension skills, reading and understanding ability is tested.

The quantitative ability section of IBSAT 2020 comprises of 30 questions in total. The difficulty level is considered to be higher as compared to other sections. There are 30 MCQs from this section. As per the trends, the level of difficulty is easy to moderate. It is futher divided into various topics viz. Data Sufficiency, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation. The questions are framed to test the candidates’ ability to deal with a large amount of data. Questions are ideally based on pie charts, lines, tables and graphs.

Ques. What is asked in Data Sufficiency and Data Interpretation section of IBSAT?
Ans. This sections is comprised of 30 questions. Out of the 30 questions, 15 are based on data sufficiency, while the rest are on Data Interpretation. Most of the questions are focused on data sufficiency, pie charts, lines, tables and graphs. The difficulty level of this section is deemed as moderate.
Ques. Are there sectional time limits or any other constraints in IBSAT 2020?
Ans. No, IBSAT 2020 does not impose any sectional time limit or order on the candidate. Candidates can respond to the questions in any order as they please.
Ques. Is the IBSAT exam difficult?
Ans. The syllabus of IBSAT 2020 is based on the curriculum of class 10 + 2 and it does not include any general knowledge questions, thus on one front it is deemed as easier due to that. It is also less competitive than CAT, MAT, or CMAT which are regional/national examinations and has questions that are lower on the scale of difficulty.

Ans. Verbal ability is the largest section of the IBSAT examination. It is comprised of 50 questions in total which aim to test candidates on the english proficiency skills such as vocabulary, reasoning and grammar.
Ques. How many questions are there in the reading comprehension section of IBSAT?
Ans. There are a total of 30 questions in the reading comprehension section of IBSAT. Candidates will have to attempt to solve 4 unseeen passages that will have a maximum of 9 questions and a minimum of 5 questions. The difficulty level of this section is generally deemed as moderate.
