Ques. In the ICAR AIEEA UG, can I take agriculture as one of my subjects instead of physics?

● Top Answer By Ranjit Roy on 20 Jan 21

Ans. For the domains of B.Sc. like Agriculture, Horticulture, Forest and Fishery, although the eligibility is of physics as a compulsory subject in 10+2 yes in the entrance examination one can surely opt for agriculture instead of physics but for the other domains like Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Nutrition and Dietician, Sericulture, Agriculture Engineering, you have to compulsorily opt for the physics and agriculture won’t be an option. The five sections of the exam are: Physics(P) Chemistry(C) Biology(B) Agriculture(A) A student can take agriculture in place of biology but taking agriculture in place of physics is not an option for most of the domains provided. This depicts the information regarding opting for the subjects. Now it depends on the student about which subject to choose.Read more

Ques. What is the required marks vs rank for the ICAR UG AIEEA exam?

● Top Answer By Debopam Bose on 20 Jan 21

Ans. There are no cut-off ranks or marks as such for the ICAR UG AIEEA exam. The ranks are totally based on the number of students attempting the exam with you and the quality of students. By the word quality, it certainly means how good students are writing the exam and your ability concerning them. When you write the exam, you should only try to attain higher marks as your rank will depend on that. After qualifying for the exam, you will be asked to opt for the colleges and the allotment of the college is done to counseling up to the third level. Higher ranks are required for colleges like TNAU, PAU, GKVK, etc. The ranks of the students also depend on the category of the student such as General, OBC, SC, and ST. So, this also plays an important role in the allotment of the colleges and ranks. If a student gets more than 350 and more specifically above 400 marks then he/she gets admission to prominent universities like PAU Ludhiana, BHU Varanasi, GBPUAT Pantnagar, etc.  Generally, in total there are 8000 seats all over the country.  A rank up to 50 assures you of the college and course you wish to select.  A rank between 51 and 100 gives you the guarantee of a good college.  If you attain a rank between 101-500 you will get admission to a decent place. Although ICAR AIEEA never mentions the cut-off marks and the cut-off ranks keep on increasing in the coming years. It is most advisable to practice NCERT as attaining these marks is only possible through NCERT books. This is the information regarding marks vs rank for the ICAR AIEEA UG exam. The student is hence required to prepare according to the rank and focus on getting the rank according to the preferred college.Read more

Ques. How do I prepare for the ICAR - AIEEA - UG Stream A examination?

● Top Answer By Gitika Arora on 20 Jan 21

Ans. There are a total of 180 questions which include the domain of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology which includes 60 questions each. Being a student of stream A of the ICAR AIEEA, there are only 3 sections that are to be attempted, so you can leave the sections of agriculture and maths. Before attempting or starting the preparation of the exam, a student should always go through the syllabus and scheme of the exam which is easily available on the official website of the ICAR. If you had Agriculture in their 10+2, then you can attempt for the section and skip the other two sections. After all, the key rule is to attempt 3 sections out of the 5 given sections. For the preparation part, only NCERT is sufficient. According to the sections: For the Chemistry part, the chapters with the high weightage should be paid more attention to. They should be prepared along with the numerical. Biology sections should be prepared by thoroughly reading the chapters and understanding the basics. For the Physics sections, the books of 11th and 12th are sufficient. There are 90% numerical in the physics section, which if practiced well then can be cracked easily. A student can easily prepare well according to the mentioned points for clearing the exam of ICAR AIEEA Stream A. For the preparation of the exam, a student can revise the PCB books of 10+2 that will build your basics. The books will not only cover the basics but will also help in clearing all the doubts. Also, if you are an aspiring student of NEET, then you are not required to prepare anything extra in that case. A student is not required to study for the General Knowledge and Agriculture related questions in that case.Read more

Ques. What are the cut-off marks for the ICAR AIEEA exam?

● Top Answer By Rudrasish Bose on 20 Jan 21

Ans. For an exam like the ICAR AIEEA exam, the cut-off marks do not matter as the result of ICAR AIEEA comes in the form of rank and not marks. There are fewer colleges now which take admission based on the ICAR AIEEA exam and that increases the difficulty.  Colleges like TNAU, NDRI, IVRI, CSS HISAR are not even available for the choice filling rounds so the ranks and colleges are actually important.  Colleges like PAU Ludhiana, SKRAU Bikaner, RVSKVV Gwalior, MPUAT Udaipur are some of the prominent colleges which are still on the list and give admissions based on the exam. In general, talking about ICAR AIEEA, they just provide ranks according to which the students get admission in the college.  The better rank one achieves the better college you attain.  A student can target the college according to the last year's cut-off rank that makes it easier for the students to get admission to their preferred college. Along with the rank of the student, the result also comprises the section that clearly mentions whether a student is qualified or not. But still attaining 60% marks for the general category is the necessity to at least try for your targeted college. The above mentioned is the information regarding the cut-off marks and ranks of the ICAR AIEEA exam. Now the student has to first target the college and then try to get the rank accordingly.Read more

Ques. How many marks are required in the ICAR AIEEA-UG exam to secure a seat in a government agriculture college or university?

● Top Answer By Aryaa Chatterjee on 20 Jan 21

Ans. The total marks of the exam ICAR AIEEA-UG are 600 and the duration is 2.5 hours. The exam actually doesn’t grant the advantages of knowing the statistics of marks and rank. Also, there is no exact cut-off score known.  The students also don’t get any rank with the marks associated with their results so that a proper cut-off score is known.  In the first counseling, the students within the rank of 2000 get their colleges. The students up to the rank of 7000 get their college or university in the second counseling.  But as the competition is increasing, the student should always focus on marks above 450 as it increases their chance to crack the exam.  Also, a rank below 2000 is a decent one to attain. The above mentioned was a general criterion of marks and rank as there are different cut-offs according to the castes.  According to the stats of 2020, the cut-off marks for the following are -  Categories Cut-Off Marks For General Category 300-350 For OBC Category 300-320 For SC Category 250-300 For ST Category 200-250 Although, there are only 15% of government colleges take admission based on the ICAR AIEEA UG examination, with the increasing competition the ranks are also getting tougher. For a category like General, at least 60% of marks are a necessity. This depicts the relevant information for the ranks and cut off marks of the ICAR AIEEA UG exam so that the student can prepare accordingly.Read more
