    JEE Advanced 2020 Result is expected to be declared in the first week of September at jeeadv.ac.in by IIT Delhi. With the postponement of the exam, the after events will observe a delay. Candidates have to enter their Registration Number and Date of Birth to view their JEE Advanced Rank and Score. JEE Advanced Result shall be in the form of a scorecard containing details of test taker’s total score in Paper I and Paper II, along with candidate’s marks in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, rank in Common Rank List, candidate and category information. Check JEE Advanced Expected Cut off

    Latest: JEE Advanced has been rescheduled to August 23, 2020. 

    • Subject to meeting the eligibility criteria of different IITs, candidates who qualify JEE Advanced 2020 will be eligible for admission in IITs. 
    • JoSAA organizes combined counselling for JEE Main and JEE Advanced Rank holders. 
    • With JEE Advanced Rank Predictor, candidates who appeared for JEE Main January session or are preparing for JEE Advanced 2020 can check their estimated rank range on the basis of their mock test score.
    • Qualifying JEE Advanced is also necessary for candidates who wish to sit for the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT)

    Out of 161319 students who appeared in JEE Advanced 2019, 38705 students including 5356 females qualified the exam. Scoring 346 marks out of 372, Gupta Kartikey Chandresh from Maharashtra topped IIT JEE Advanced 2019. Also, he had secured an All India Rank 17 with 100 Percentile in JEE Main 2019. Shabnam Sahay is topper among female candidates obtaining AIR 10 with 308 marks.

    Candidates need to follow the below procedure in order to check JEE Advanced Result 2020:

    • Visit the official website of JEE Advanced to check the rank. The results will be declared at jeeadv.ac.in.
    • Log into the account using the Registration Number, Date of Birth, Mobile Number and Email Address. 
    • Download the result and keep it for further use.

    Score Calculation

    JEE Advanced Score Calculation

    Only candidates who have appeared for both the papers of JEE Advanced, will be considered for Common Rank List (CRL). Marks obtained in Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be taken while the rank is calculated by the concerned authorities. The example is mentioned below:

    Marks obtained in Physics = Marks obtained in Paper 1 (Physics) + Marks obtained in Paper 2 (Physics)

    Similar method will be used for calculating total marks for Mathematics and Chemistry. The aggregate marks for JEE Advanced 2020 will be calculated using the following formula:

    Aggregate Marks/Scores obtained in JEE Advanced = Aggregate marks in (Physics + Mathematics + Chemistry)

    The rank list of JEE Advanced 2020 will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination. Only candidates who score the minimum prescribed marks in each subject and in aggregate will be included in the rank list.

    The candidates who appear for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be considered for ranking. Rank list is prepared on the basis of aggregate marks scored in JEE Advanced 2020, which is the sum of marks secured by a candidate in Physics, chemistry and Mathematics. The merit list for ST, SC and OBC-NCL will be released separately, there is a speciified relaxation in minimum marks for candidates belonging to these categories. 

    As mentioned earlier, to be included in the merit list, a candidate must clear the qualifying cut off. As per JEE Advanced 2020 information brochure, the minimum percentage of marks prescribed for inclusion in the rank list is tabulated below:

    Tie Breaker Policy

    JEE Advanced 2020 Tie Breaker Policy

    If there is a clash between two or more candidates in terms of their aggregate marks, then the following tie resolving policy shall be used:

    • Aspirants with higher positive ranks will be given a higher rank.
    • Aspirants with greater marks in mathematics will be given a higher rank.
    • Aspirants with greater marks in Physics will be given a higher rank.
    • If the tie situation still continues, then it will be resolved by assigning the same ranks to the candidates. 

    JEE Advanced Answer Key

    The responses marked by the candidates who have appeared for both the papers of JEE Advanced as recorded during the exam will be available for them to view, download and print from the candidate portal on the official website i.e. jeeadv.ac.in. The provisional answer keys will be available on the online portal, candidates must note the provisional answer keys are subject to change. IIT Delhi shall also allow candidates to send feedback on answer keys through the portal. With the announcement of JEE Advanced result, the final frozen answer keys and minimum marks for inclusion in the rank list will be published at the official portal.

    JEE Advanced Cut Off

    JEE Advanced 2020 Cut-off

    JEE Advanced cut off is the score of the candidate with the lowest rank who will be accepted by IITs for admission. IITs also prefer Minimum Qualifying Marks for Ranking (MQMR) which is the minimum scores for JEE Advanced, required to be eligible for including in JEE Advanced Common Rank List.

    The cut off marks for PwD candidates will be the same as the lowest of the cut off marks for GEN, OBC-NCL, SC and ST categories.

    Candidates can have a look at previous year’s cut off for different categories and the revised cut offs to have an idea of what to expect from JEE Advanced 2020. The minimum percentage of marks prescribed for inclusion in the rank list for JEE Advanced 2019 are elucidated in the following table:

    JEE Advanced 2020 Counselling

    JoSSA will be carrying out the counselling procedure for selection of candidates into the IITs and other affiliated institutes. The candidates will be allotted the college and branch as per their choice but in accordance with their AIR.

    For that the candidates will have to wait for the declaration of the AIR and the counselling procedure will commence in the third week of June 2020. JEE Advanced Counselling is centrally managed computerized process and candidates need to report directly to allotted colleges. 

    Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced Counselling

    • Candidates should note that the counselling will be conducted for only those candidates whose rank is under the ambit of the rank released by various colleges.
    • They are required to have obtained at least 75% aggregate marks in class 12th or equivalent board exam. For candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD categories, the aggregate marks required for admission is 65%.
    • For admission in IITs, the candidates must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective class 12th or equivalent board exam.

    JEE Advanced AAT 2020

    Post declaration of JEE Advanced Result, desired candidates must register for Architecture Aptitude Test 2020 at jeeadv.ac.in. Only candidates who have qualified in JEE Advanced can register for AAT.

    • The Registration for AAT 2020 is expected to begin in September. 
    • Exam date for the Architecture Aptitude Test will be released by the concerned authority.
    • There is no separate ranking and cut off in AAT.
    • The allotment of seats will be carried out on category-wise All India Ranks in JEE Advanced 2020.
