LSAT Eligibility Criteria

Pearson VUE has announced LSAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs. LSAT India eligibility criteria mentions minimum qualification and age required for applying to the Person VUE administered Law School Admission Test (LSAT) 2018.

LSAT or Law School Admission Test is conducted every year and LSAT 2018 has been scheduled for May 21, 2018.  Candidates are advised to check the minimum eligibility norms of LSAT 2018 before filling LSAT Application Forms. In any case any candidate does not comply with the LSAT Eligibility Criteria may lose his/her candidature at any of the admission steps.

All colleges or universities that accept LSAT score have different eligibility criteria. Students are only allowed to take LSAT test 3 times in duration of 2 years. They are also advised to send the scanned copy along with their email request as an attachment before the last date of registration. LSAT exam is conducted in the offline mode only for the students seeking admission to BA LLB/ LLM program


LSAT India 2018 Eligibility - Age Limit

There is no specific age limit defined to apply for LSAT India Exam for any of the law programs offered at the undergraduate and postgraduate level of study. Students can check the age limit specified by individual colleges wherein they are seeking admission. Apart from the age limit criteria, students meeting the minimum education qualification can apply for the exam.


LSAT India 2018 Eligibility – Educational Qualification

LSAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria vary from institute to institutes. So, before appearing in the exam, students must check their eligibility criteria of the desired college in which they wish to apply. If after registration, are found ineligible for admission then no test fee will be refunded.

Required educational qualification of different courses is as follows:

For BA LLB course

  • Students applying for BA LLB Program must have qualified 12th board examination of 10+2 pattern from CBSE or any other recognized equivalent state educational board.
  • The minimum passing percentage of BA LLB is 45% or it may vary for each of the participating institute.

For LLB course

  • For getting admission in the LLB course, students must possess Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institute with minimum 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam

For LLM course

  • Applicants applying for LLM course must be a 3 years or 5 years LLB graduate. The degree must be granted by a recognized Indian Law Institute as per Bar Council of India Norms
  • Candidates must score at least 45% aggregate marks in the LLB course or passing percentage may vary as per the participating institute.

LSAT India 2018 College-Wise Eligibility Criteria

  1. Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law
  • Students must have completed Bachelor of Law (5 years) in first class from any recognized university.

Or

  • Bachelor of Law (3 years) in first class from recognized university along with Bachelor’s degree (not less than 3 years) in Humanities/ Science/ Commerce or Equivalent.

Or

  • Applicant’s posses LLB (Honours) degree in Intellectual Property from IIT Kharagpur with CGPA of 8.5 can directly apply for admission.
  1. Jindal Global Law School
  • Candidates cleared 12th examination with minimum 45% marks and their age must be below 22 years are eligible for admission
  • Those who have completed 3 years graduation degree with 45% marks with no age limit can apply for admission

Ques. What is the duration of LSAT test?

Ans. Total time duration given to complete the test is 2 hours and 20 minutes without any break.

Ques. Where will the test be administrated?

Ans. LSAT India examination will be conducted at following different location:

North: Chandigarh, Delhi (NCR), Jaipur, Lucknow, Dehradun

South: Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi

West: Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Mumbai, Nagpur, Indore

East: Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Ranchi, Raipur, Guwahati, Patna

Ques. Can candidates edit their registration application?

Ans. Once the form is submitted, the candidates cannot make any changes in the form except educational qualifications and associated college information

Ques. Can candidates use LSAT India score to apply to the law colleges outside India?

Ans. No, LSAT India is designed for use by law colleges in India and scores cannot be used to report the law colleges outside India.

Ques. Is there any negative marking for guessing in LSAT India?

Ans. No, there is no negative marking and students can attempt all the questions.
