LSAT India 2019 Syllabus

LSAT India 2018 comprises questions based on Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension. As observed from the previous year question papers, all the major questions appear from these topics only. LSAT-India is conducted by the USA-based Law School Admission Council (LSAC) for admission into different Law schools in India. The candidates have to complete their education till 10+2 level from a recognized board, to be eligible for LSAT India .

  • There are 4 sections in LSAT exam-
  1. Analytical Reasoning
  2. Logical Reasoning (Part 1)
  3. Logical Reasoning (Part 2)
  4. Reading Comprehension
  • The nature of the questions will be objective i.e. multiple-choice format
  • The number of choices provided in a question will be 4-5.
  • Time allotted for LSAT examination 02 hours and 20 minutes duration without any break. The Law School Admission Test-India 2018 will consist of the following sections.
  • Total no of questions- 92-100
  • Mode of Exam is pen and paper based.
  • Approximately 35 minutes will be allotted to attempt each section.
  • Each correct answer will be allotted 1 mark
  • There is no criterion for negative marking in case of a wrong answer or unattended question.

Candidates should be well aware of LSAT Exam Pattern for better understanding of the number of questions asked and time allotted to solve each section.

LSAT Syllabus for Analytical Reasoning

In Analytical Reasoning section, candidates have to solve questions based on structure of relationships where they have to draw the logical conclusions about that relationship which could be based on persons, places, things or events. Candidates will be given choices of 4-5 statements and they have to choose the correct one that describes the relationship in an apt manner. This section evaluates legal problem solving ability of the students.

LSAT Syllabus for Logical Reasoning

LSAT Syllabus for Reading Comprehension

This section is to analyse the reading and understanding skills of a candidate. The questions that come up in RCs are also to evaluate reasoning ability of the candidate.  There are no particular topics defined by the conducting body. Mainly all competitive exams source passages from multiple areas such as: law, sociology, philosophy, psychology, technology, economics, business etc. In this examination the main focus would be on law. 

It consists of four sets of questions based on reading which could appear from the areas such as Law, Business, Legal acts and rights, Economy etc. There is no such reading criteria set by the conducting body but students must practise as many passages as possible from the topics mentioned.

LSAT India Preparation Tips

  • The LSAT India 2018 exam will have four sections. Candidates will be given approx 35 minutes to attempt each section.
  • Time management is required to solve the complete paper efficiently.
  • Answers have to be filled on OMR answer sheet provided to them. The candidates must fill the answer sheet very carefully otherwise the computer will reject your answers.
  • All the sections have equal number of questions and each question holds 1 mark so the aspirants must prepare all the 4 sections thoroughly.
  • There is no criterion of negative marking in LSAT India 2018 exam. So, the candidates must attempt all the questions in the exam for a better score.
  • The candidate should solve a lot of sample papers, mock tests and previous year question papers for a better knowledge of pattern and type of questions.
