What After MAT Cutoff 2020?
Each MAT Score Accepting College follows its individual selection procedure. While some admit students directly upon their MAT Result, some hold further scrutiny rounds. These rounds help filter out the best students from the crowd.
Read below the stages of the pre-admission process. Most Management Institutes have two or all of these stages:
- Group Discussion (GD)
- Personal Interview (PI)
- Written Ability Test (WAT)
The majority of management colleges now give higher weightage to a candidate’s performance in the written test. This is so because it is easier to judge a candidate’s viewpoints while he is writing, unlike in GD/PI. Also, a soft-spoken candidate often loses his chance in a GD round. So, we advise you to prepare well for all these rounds to the best of your ability.
Post these selection rounds, selected candidates appear for MAT Counselling. While participating in the counselling rounds, make sure you bring along the following documents:
- MAT Admit card with Xerox copy
- Original certificates of 10th, 12th with Xerox Copy
- Medical documents
- MAT Rank Card
- All original certificates in concern to preceding qualification
- Caste certificates for the reserved category
- At least new six passport size black and white and color photographs
MAT Cutoff FAQs
Ques. What is MAT Composite Score and how is it calculated?
Ans. While the total marks of MAT Paper are 200, colleges carve out the composite scores from 800. MAT Score represents the relative position of a candidate w.r.t. other candidates. For e.g.: percentile score of 95 means that there are 95% of candidates below, whose scores are lesser.
Each MAT score-report contains six scores: Verbal Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation & Sufficiency, Reasoning Ability (ranging from 0 to 100), Composite Score (199 to 801) and General Awareness (a separate scorecard on a scale from 0 to 100). Check MAT Exam Pattern
But the composite score is decided upon the first four sections only. This is so because these sections talk about specific skills that one acquires over a long period of time. AIMA assigns equal weightage to these sections. The scores were defined in a way that a score of about 50 in a section and about 500 on the composite scale represent the average performance of that group.
