MAT Exam Centers 2026: City List Out, How to Check Allotted Center and Reporting Time

MAT 2026 Exam Centers for the September session have been confirmed by AIMA. The All India Management Association (AIMA) has announced 54 test cities across India for MAT September 2026. The exam will be conducted in two physical modes - Paper Based Test (PBT) on September 13, 2026, and Computer Based Test (CBT) on September 20, 2026 - at designated centers in these cities. Candidates opting for the Internet Based Test (IBT) mode do not require a physical exam center and can appear from their own device at home. The specific MAT 2026 exam center allotted to each candidate - including the venue address, date, and slot - will be mentioned on the MAT Admit Card 2026, available from September 10 (PBT) and September 17 (CBT) on the official AIMA website.

MAT Exam Centers 2026

AIMA conducts MAT 2026 in three modes: PBT (Paper Based Test), CBT (Computer Based Test), and IBT (Internet Based Test). Physical exam centers apply only to the PBT and CBT modes. Candidates who register for IBT mode appear from home and are not allotted any physical center.

For MAT September 2026, AIMA has confirmed 54 test cities across India for PBT and CBT modes. CBT centers are available in around 50 of these cities, while PBT centers cover around 30 cities. Candidates can choose up to 2 preferred cities at the time of filling the MAT 2026 application form, and AIMA allots a specific venue within one of those cities.

MAT 2026 Exam Center Allotment Process

AIMA allots MAT 2026 exam centers based on the city preferences submitted by candidates during registration. The process differs by mode:

• PBT mode: Candidates choose up to 2 cities from the PBT city list. AIMA allots a specific paper-based exam venue within the preferred city, subject to seat availability.
• CBT mode: Candidates choose up to 2 cities from the CBT city list. A computer-based test center within the chosen city is allotted based on availability. Registration for CBT closes on September 14, 2026.
• IBT mode: No physical center allotment applies. Candidates take the test from home on any chosen date within the IBT window, in two daily slots: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM or 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM.

Once the registration window closes, AIMA processes center allotments. The allotted venue name, address, reporting time, and test slot are then printed on the MAT Admit Card 2026 - candidates can check their specific center only after downloading the admit card.

Note: The city center option in the MAT 2026 application form is non-editable once the form is finally submitted. Candidates must finalize their city preferences carefully before clicking Submit.

How to check MAT Exam Center 2026 Allotted?

After registration closes, AIMA processes center allotments and makes them available through the MAT Admit Card 2026. The PBT admit card will be released on September 10, 2026, and the CBT admit card on September 17, 2026. Candidates can download the admit card by logging into the official AIMA candidate portal.

Steps to check the allotted MAT Exam Center 2026:

• Step 1: Visit the official website of AIMA MAT.
• Step 2: Click on the "Download Admit Card" link for MAT September 2026 (choose PBT or CBT as applicable).
• Step 3: Enter your MAT 2026 Registration Number and Date of Birth in the candidate login fields.
• Step 4: Click "Submit" to access your candidate dashboard.
• Step 5: Download and print the MAT Admit Card 2026 - your allotted exam center name, full address, test date, and slot time will be printed on it.

Note: Candidates must appear only at the exam center, date, and time slot printed on their admit card. Appearing at any other venue will result in cancellation of candidature.

MAT 2026 Exam Center Change: Is It Allowed?

AIMA does not allow any change of exam center once the MAT 2026 application form has been submitted. The city preference field is non-editable after final submission, and no request for a center change is entertained at any stage of the process.

Candidates must therefore exercise care while choosing preferred cities during form filling. Select cities that are close to your home or place of stay so that you can reach the exam venue comfortably on exam day without last-minute travel stress.

Note: AIMA reserves the right to change an exam center for operational reasons such as insufficient registrations at a venue, technical disruptions, or natural events. In such cases, the revised center details will be communicated to affected candidates through email or an updated admit card before the exam date.

MAT 2026 Exam Day Instructions

Candidates appearing at a physical MAT 2026 exam center (PBT or CBT mode) must follow the instructions below on the day of the exam:

1. Carry the MAT Admit Card 2026 (printed copy) to the exam center along with a valid government-issued photo ID proof - Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, or Voter ID.
2. Reach the exam center at least 1 hour before the scheduled start time of the exam. Gates may be closed before the exam begins.
3. If possible, visit the exam center a day before the test to know the exact location and plan your route in advance.
4. Sit only at the seat designated to you by the invigilator. Do not change seats or occupy another candidate’s allotted seat.
5. All MAT 2026 exam centers are under CCTV surveillance throughout the examination process.
6. Carrying mobile phones, smartwatches, digital calculators, pagers, Bluetooth devices, or any written material into the exam hall is strictly prohibited. Candidates found with such items will be debarred.
7. For CBT mode, if you encounter any technical issue with the computer system, immediately raise your hand and inform the invigilator. Do not attempt to fix the system yourself.
8. Rough work must be done on the sheet provided at the center and must be submitted to the invigilator before leaving the hall.
9. Do not leave the exam hall before the exam is officially concluded by the invigilator.

Note: Candidates appearing in IBT mode from home must ensure a stable internet connection, a functioning webcam, and a quiet, distraction-free environment for the duration of the test.
