    MAT Exam Pattern is prescribed by AIMA and no changes are introduced for the 2020 session. The exam will be having five sections: Indian and Global Environment, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning. A total of 200 questions are to be attempted over 150 minutes with each section having 40 questions. The score of Indian & Global Environment will not be considered while forming the merit list. Check Detailed MAT Syllabus

    Latest Update: AIMA has postponed MAT PBT and CBT mode exam due to COVID-19 and nationwide lockdown to July 2 and July 4 respectively. 

    Remote Proctored Internet Based is also introduced  where candidates can take the test from theer homes between May 25 to July 5, 2020. Check Details Here

    • Exam Pattern and syllabus for MAT IBT Mode is the same the only change candiates have to face is the manner in which exam is taken. They will be requiring a computer system with webcam and internet facilities to take the test.
    • Candidates can get acquianted with IBT mode pattern by appearing for official mock test provided by AIMA. 
    • Registration Process for MAT 2020 started from March 6 and has been extended due to Coronavirus disease. Candidates can apply till June 24 for PBT mode and  June 10 for CBT mode. Apply Here! 
    • Keeping exam pattern in mind is essential to devise a clear cut preparation startegy. As AIMA has also postponed the May session exam by about a month, candidates have extra time in their kitty to cover up their left over syllabus and ace the exam. MAT 2020 will be conducted on July 2 and July 4, 2020 for offline and online mode respectively.

    • Each candidate is awarded +1 mark for a correct response.
    • -0.25 marks are deducted for an incorrect response. 
    • Each section carries equal weightage of 40 marks.
    • The maximum marks which a candidate can score are 200 and the scaled score is given out of 800.

    Question: Is there any difference between paper-based and computer-based test?

    Answer: The Paper-based test is generally offered in a single day for the candidates. MAT 2019 exam will be conducted in all the cities of our country. Candidates can choose the area which is nearby to their places. Candidates can also choose the center, day and time of his convenience to take an exam. Candidates have to bring Pen, Pencils, Eraser, and Sharper along with them whereas the OMR sheet and Question paper will be provided at the exam center. Unlike paper-based, computer-based test means the candidate sits in front of the computer monitor and read the questions are presented on the monitor, and answers the questions, and submit the answers. Each computer will be connected to the servers which will help to show a question set and delivers to the candidates. Candidates should be good at operating computer, keyboard and mouse.

    Question: What is the mode of MAT exam?

    Answer: MAT 2020 will be conducted in two modes. Those are Computer-based Test and Paper based test. Candidates can choose any one of the modes which are easy mode for them.

    Question: What should my exam strategy be to improve percentile scores?

    Answer: Candidates have to prepare extensively within a time limit, try to get adequate exposure to different models of questions, and analyze MAT mock papers.

    Question: Is there any fixed syllabi for MAT exam?

    Answer: No, there is no fixed syllabus in MAT exam. Candidates have to go through the analysis of the previous year papers. There are certain topics which will be asked in all the MAT exams which were mentioned above. Candidates should go through these topics to secure high marks in MAT exam.

    Question: How many times is MAT conducted in a year?

    Answer: MAT is conducted 4 times a year in the month of February, September, September, and December.

    Question: I got 50% of the marks in my Undergraduate degree examinations. Am I eligible for MAT exam?

    Answer: Yes, you are eligible. Some colleges or schools have fewer cut-offs in graduation. You can select those colleges for their graduation.

    Answer: MAT exam will be conducted in all major cities in India. A foreign candidate can choose to appear in any Indian exam centers or in Dubai or Singapore.

    Answer: Yes, candidates who have a backlog in their graduation can also attend MAT exam. However, they should clear all papers before final admission.
