    MAT 2021 Preparation Tips

Here are some tips to aid you in your efforts.

    • You must be aware that the syllabus for MAT is not as difficult as that of other MBA entrance exams. On top of this, this exam is conducted 4 times in one year, thus substantially increasing your chances of success. But this does not mean that you should take this exam lightly. Note how the syllabus for MAT is different from other similar tests, and prepare accordingly.
    • Make yourself acquainted with the question pattern of MAT. Carefully go through previous years’ papers.
    • Do not overlook any section. The scores of all the sections make up your total. You cannot afford to ignore any part.
    • Solve previous years papers and mock question papers to get a hag of the question pattern.

To hone your skills for each specific section, read the below mentioned points.

    • Language Comprehension: Try to improve your reading skills. Work on your grammar. Along with everything else, it is crucial that you keep a check on the clock and manage your speed accordingly. This is an easy area to score good marks if you have strong grammar and vocabulary.
    • Mathematical Skills: If you have studied Mathematics in class 12 board exams or graduation, this section is going to be a cake walk for you. Others need to work hard in this area. First of all, your fundamental knowledge and basics should be absolutely crystal clear. For instance, you should know your theorems thoroughly well. It is suggested that you practice mental calculations to increase your speed. Keep practising, find out your weak areas and work harder on them.
    • Data Analysis and Sufficiency: It is recommended that you first get a basic idea of how to interpret data. This is the first thing that you should do before jumping headlong into solving questions. Learn about tables, pie charts, graphs very well. Be advised that you absolutely must not start solving the questions as soon as you come across them. First take time to understand the data to avoid errors in later stages.
    • Intelligence and Critical Reasoning: This is a section which tests your reasoning skills and logic. The key to scoring well in this section is practice and more practice. It might seem easy to you at first glance but this is the area where most students commit silly mistakes. Do not just start assuming certain answers because they are obvious. Always try to find a logical backing behind your assertion.
    • Indian and Global Environment: This is a section for which you need to spend very little time during the exam as this does not demand any kind of critical thinking for you. However, you will need to spend considerable time preparing for this section. This expects the candidate to have general awareness about the important national and global issues at present.
