MAT 2021 Exam Dates for CBT and IBT modes have been announced by AIMA. MAT IBT will be conducted on June 6, 8, 10 for which the registration deadline is June 2, 4, 6 respectively. MAT CBT Exam Day Guidelines

  • Appearing candidates need to possess MAT Admit Card at the time of appearing for the exam.
  • Along with the admit card, carry a valid id proof and a blue/black ball point pen.
  • Do not carry any banned items like calculators, mobile phones, and any other electronic gadgets.
  • Report to the exam center 90 minutes before the commencement of the exam. The entry inside the exam center is allowed 30 minutes before starting the test.
  • Carry your own masks and hand sanitisers at the exam hall and abide by all COVID-19 SOPs.

MAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria

To appear for MAT 2021, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institute in any stream.
The major advantage that MAT aspirants have is that there’s no upper age limit to appear for the test along with the number of attempts i.e. candidates can appear for MAT as many times they want to improve their ranks. Read entire MAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria here

MAT 2021 Registration

Registration for MAT 2021 February session has begun from last week of December. The application process for MAT PBT, MAT CBT, and MAT IBT will begin at different times. Candidates willing to appear can get themselves registered for either of the tests by paying required application fee.

MAT 2021 Admit Card

MAT 2021 Admit Card has been released for CBT mode. AIMA will soon release the hall ticket for MAT PBT and IBT. The exact date will be displayed on the official website.- 

  • Visit the official website of AIMA MAT. 
  • Login using the registered Mobile Number and Password. 
  • There will be an option to download the Admit Card. 
  • Save the Admit Card/Hall Ticket to your device and on the drive as well. 
  • Take a print out of the Admit Card for use at the center.
  • Also take a printout of the Test Instructions. 
  • In the exam center, the invigilator will verify the details and sign on it. 
  • The upper half of the admit card will be collected by the Invigilator and the lower half will be given to the candidate.

MAT 2021 Exam Pattern generally consists of 5 sections. The sections broadly measure the candidates ability in Mathematics, English and General Awareness.

  • The paper can be attempted both online and offline based on the candidates preferences.
  • A total of 200 questions will be asked in MAT 2021.

MAT 2021 Syllabus will be divided into five different sections carrying different weightages.

  • Mathematical Skills will comprise topics like Algebra, Mensuration, Arithmetic, Geometry, Trigonometry.
  • Language Comprehension will be divided into Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability.
  • Questions on Data analysis and sufficiency will be based on texts, tables, graphs, charts and venn diagrams.

MAT 2021 Paper Analysis

All India Management Association successfully conducted MAT 2020 for the December session on December 6 for PBT mode & on December 28 for CBT mode respectively. The IBT mode tests were conducted between November 21 and December 24. Check Detailed MAT Paper Analysis

  • The question papers of MAT 2020 December exams were of moderate difficulty, like they have always been for the past few years.

  • The Language Comprehension section was easy
  • Mathematical skill section was moderate to difficult.
  • Data Analysis and Sufficiency was moderate
  • Intelligence and Critical Reasoning was Moderate to difficult.
  • Indian & Global Environment was easy like that of the previous year.
September Session
  • The Intelligence and Critical Reasoning section had more questions focused on Analytical and Logical Reasoning and the number of Critical Reasoning questions was reported to be less. The section was length and thus time taking.
  • Mathematical skill section was moderate but was time taking. About 50 per cent of this section of MAT had questions on Pie Charts, Graphs, Charts, Bar Diagrams, Data Comparison. Rest of the section had questions from Data Comparison and Data Sufficiency.
  • Indian & Global Environment section was easy.
May Session
  • Language Comprehension section was slight on the moderate scale with certain topics carrying difficult questions.
  • In the Mathematical skill section, the Arithmetic section dominated the paper entirely. It was moderate to difficult scale. About 50 percent of this section of MAT exam was dominated by Data Interpretation that included questions from Graphs, Pie Charts, Bar Diagrams, Charts, Line Graph, Data Comparison.
  • Intelligence and Critical Reasoning section was lengthy with more focus on Statement-Assumptions, Reasons, Analogies and Direction, Series and Incorrect terms. o There were 40 questions in this section with maximum questions on Government Policies, COVID-19 and its global implications, Rules, Regulations, JIO- Facebook deal, Awards, CAA, GST, Constitution of India, Appointments, Capitals, US Trade Policy, Current Nationals and International Events.
February Session
  • Language comprehension section was difficult with questions on Antonyms/Synonyms, One Word Substitution, Errors in Sentence Formation, Fill in the blanks, Phrases & Idioms and Jumbled Paragraphs. There were five RC passages, each carrying four questions.
  • Mathematical skill section according to the candidates was one of the most difficult to solve.
  • In Data Analysis and Sufficiency most of the questions where from Graphs, Pie Charts, Bar Graph, Venn Diagrams, Charts, Line Graph, Data Comparison. It was moderate in nature.
  • The Intelligence and Critical Reasoning section was slightly lengthy and questions were of moderate level of difficulty.
  • Indian and Global environment was easy to solve according to the candidates.

MAT 2021 Result & Score Card 

MAT 2021 Result is always released within three weeks of the exam. For MAT 2021, the results are projected to release in the month of February 2021. The results will be released online only. 

  • Visit the official website of AIMA MAT. 
  • Login using the registered email address, DOB and password. 
  • You can now download MAT 2021 Score Card. 
  • Check if all the details match with your documents. 
  • Take a print out of the MAT Score Card for future reference.
MAT Cut Off

MAT 2021 Score vs Percentile calculation

MAT 2021 consists of 5 sections but the candidate will be scored on the basis of 4 sections only. The 5th section which is Indian & Global Environment is not taken into consideration. 

  • MAT 2021 consists of 40 questions of 1 mark each but the end marks are calculated out of 160 marks instead of 200 marks. 
  • The scores which candidates acquire are scaled to 100 for each section. Thus, the scaled scores are awarded in the section from 0-100.
  • Later, the scaled score which the candidate acquires is converted into percentile score based on the relative performance of one candidate as compared to others. 
  • The composite score is calculated out of 800 marks and the scaled scores of 0-199 are converted into composite scores.

Yes there will be a single paper in MAT with 5 sections namely: Indian and Global Environment, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, and Intelligence & Critical Reasoning. Will the exam be online or offline?

MAT is a National level entrance test that is conducted in 3 modes namely:

  • Online/Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT)
  • Offline/Paper Based Test(PBT)

For all 3 modes, application is accepted in online mode only. The exam dates for different modes will be different and so will be the release of admit card.

Can MAT exam be given in many slots on the same day?

MAT is conduted 4 times in a year in 3 modes namely CBT, PBT and IBT. The test will be conducted in 2 slots on single day for IBT mode exam but a candidate can only appear for one slot. However you can attempt alll 4 sessions of the test and there is no restriction for that. For MAT 2021 February session IBT exam, you can register till March 9, 2021.

Is there any reservation for children of armed force officers?

No there is no such reservation available for MAT 2021. Teh application form will be available in online mode on the official website of AIMA. The exam will be conducted in online and offline mode on different dates and candidates can apply for either of them as per their preference.

What should be my percentage in UG to give the exam?

There is no mention of the required graduation percentage to give MAT. Candidates must have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university. In the case of grades or CGPA, the percentage of marks calculation will be based on the procedure certified by the respective Institutes in accordance with the participating management institute’s eligibility criteria.
