    Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) 2020: Class 12th Result (Announced), Toppers List, Compartment Exam

    Mizoram Board has declared HSSLC Class 12th Result today i.e. July 14, 2020. Candidates who appeared for the examination can check their marks online by entering their roll number and registration number. Students who are not satisfied with their scores can apply for rechecking online after the release of results by paying the required fees. Mizoram Board of Education (MBSE) conducted the Mizoram Board class 12th exams for Science, Commerce and Arts Stream.     • Earlier Class 10 (HLSC) board exam result was announced on May 13, 2020. A total of 18,594 candidates passed the HLSC Examination 2020.
    • As per the news total of 7,026 class 12 students had registered for the pending exams in Economics, Sociology, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Home Science. 
    • This year, 17,024 students appeared for the board examinations (12,324 for HSLC and 4700 for HSSLC). 

    The Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) is an academic administrative body responsible for conducting the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations. This body has been conducting State Technical Entrance Examination (STEE) since 2021 for entry into various technical programs such as engineering, medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, homeopathy, and nursing. Exams for both HSLC and HSSLC are held for 3 hours. Papers are out of 100 marks divided into theory and practical. HSLC candidates should have passed the MSLC/MESLC Examination of a Board at least 3 years before the year in which they would appear in the HSLC Examination with 75% attendance. 


    • Mizoram 10th board HSLC examination has been successfully conducted between February 10 and March 03, 2020. 68.33% of candidates passed this year. 

    • Class 10 compartmental exams will also be held from July 01 and a total number of 143 candidates registered for Class 10 compartmental exams.  

    • Mizoram 12th board HSSLC examination was scheduled to be conducted between February 18 to March 30, 2020, but some exams were postponed due to lockdown.

    Steps to download MBSE 2020 Results

    Mizoram board has already declared class 10 HSLC and 12 HSSLC results on May 13, 2020 and July 14, 2020. The result contains personal information such as roll number, candidate name, father’s name, mother’s name, school, registration number, and registration year. Marks details are also given in the result such as subjects the candidate appeared for, theory marks, practical marks, grand total, and result status. Candidates must pass in theory and practical exams separately. Pass marks in each are 33% of total marks.

    • Click on the ‘Result’ tab. Enter the details in the provided link.

    Classification of Candidates

    Candidates will be placed in:

    • Distinction Division if he/she secures 75% or more than the aggregate marks;

    • First Division if he/she secures 60% and above but below 75% of the aggregate marks

    • Second Division if he/she secures 50% and above but below 60% of the aggregate marks

    • Third Division if he/she secures 33% and above but below 50% of the aggregate marks.

    MBSE 2020 Results for Rechecking

    Candidates who are not satisfied with their marks or think there has been an error in totalling can apply for rechecking online. Candidates must follow the steps given below to opt for rechecking:

    • Visit the official website of Mizoram board of secondary education mbse.edu.in

    • Find the rechecking link which will be made live once the portal has been activated

    • Enter the required information and pay the fees and submit.

    • You will be able to check your rechecking results by entering your name, roll number, and date of birth once declared. 

    MBSE 2020 Compartment Exam

    Candidates who failed to qualify in the examination will have to appear in the “compartment exams” held by the Mizoram board. Candidates who pass in the compartment subjects they appeared for will be declared “pass”. 

    • Candidates who do not appear or fail in the first or both chances shall be considered to have failed and such candidates must appear in all subjects in the subsequent annual examination. 

    • Such candidates will have the option to appear for the practical examination (for applicable subjects) or retain their previous marks.

    • Syllabus for students appearing for compartmental exams will remain the same as candidates appearing for the examination that year. 

    • For subjects that involve practical work, if the candidates have passed the practical exam at the main exam, they must appear only for theory paper as previous practical marks will be carried forward. 

    • If the candidate has failed in practical, he/she has to appear for both theory and practical irrespective of whether they passed in theory or not.

    The admit card is an important document that all board students must carry on the day of their examination. Without the damit card, candidates might not be allowed to sit for the examination.

    • Admit cards for both levels (10th and 12th) were released in February, 2020. Candidates must collect it from their respective schools. 

    • Students must avail a copy of the admit card from their school head. Schools will set a date and time for students to collect their admit cards. 

    • School heads must login username and password from the official site and download it on the behalf of the students. 

    • The admit card contains important information related to the exam such as name of the board, examination name, roll number, registration number, name of the candidate, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, respective class, list of subjects, subject code, photograph, signature of the student, important instructions. 

    • Students must check all the details mentioned on their admit cards to ensure that it matches with the actual details. 

    • In case of discrepancy, students must contact their school heads and get the error corrected at earliest.

    • Students must go through the exam pattern to understand the structure of the paper and types of questions.
