MHT CET 2021 Exam Pattern
The questions will be based on the syllabus of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. MHT CET holds papers for 3 subjects that are Mathematics/Biology, Physics & Chemistry.

- The difficulty level will be at par with the JEE (Main) for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and difficulty level for Biology will be at par with NEET.
- The questions will be mainly application based. The question will be set on the whole syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics subjects of Std. XII.
- However, 10 questions from each subject will be based on class 11th. MHT CET 2021, being a common entrance test, has been divided into three papers.
Candidates applying for a particular course are required to appear for a specified set of papers. Provided below is the distribution of subjects, questions, duration, and marks in various papers:
- Engineering candidates are required to attempt or appear for PCM
- Pharmacy candidate are required to attempt or appear for PCM or PCB
- PCM/PCB are divided into 2 Groups/Slots: In Group 1, candidates will get 90 minutes to complete physics & chemistry. In Group 2, candidates will get 90 minutes to complete Maths/Biology.
Note: Exam will be conducted at all the district headquarters in the State of Maharashtra.
MHT CET 2021 Marking Scheme
MHT CET 2021 consists of 3 sections- Section 1 will comprise of Physics and Chemistry, Section 2 will be based on Botany and Zoology while Section 3 will include questions related to Mathematics. MHT CET 2021 Syllabus
- MHT CET Syllabus for Engineering, Pharmacy and Agriculture courses will be as per the class 11th and 12th syllabus.
- Candidates must prepare for all the units of class XII & XI, except for the ones deleted for HSC examination due to COVID-19 pandemic.
- The difficulty level will be somewhat similar to the JEE Main for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and difficulty level for Biology will be comparative to NEET.
- The exam consists of 3 papers of 100 marks each and there will be no negative marking.

MHT CET Statistics
As per the data of MHT CET exam conducted in 2017, 2018, 2019 you can see a rise in the number of candidates registered.
- As per the press note released by DTE Maharashtra, in 2019, 4,35,606 candidates registered for MHT CET and 4,19,052 appeared for it.
- In 2018, 3,89,520 candidates had registered for the MHT CET. Of which, 3,76,282 candidates (96.60%) appeared for the exam.
- In 2017, 4,09,276 candidates had registered for MHT CET whereas only 3,97,768 candidates took the test.
MHT CET Exam Pattern 2021 FAQs
Ques. What if the candidate has completed Section 1 earlier than the stipulated 90 minutes, will the time saved be added to the time of Section 2 as per the MHT CET Exam Pattern?
Ans. No, MHT CET Exam Pattern is fixed in the way the candidate attempts the paper. If the candidate completes Section 1 before 90 minutes, he would not be allowed to attempt Section 2 immediately. He must complete the duration of 90 minutes in Section 1 before attempting Section 2.
Ques. Are we allowed to carry our Calculator in MHT CET 2021 exam centres?
Ans. No, you are not allowed to carry any electronic item with you for MHT CET 2021. Doing so could result in your disqualification from the whole process. Certain rules and regulations will be written in your admit card and you have to follow them.
Ques. Can I switch in between the two Sections back and forth during the MHT CET test as per the MHT CET Exam Pattern?
Ans. No. According to the MHT CET Exam Pattern, the candidate is not allowed to jump from one question in Section 1 to another question in section 2 back and forth. A candidate can attempt Section 2 only after he has completed the question of Section 1 or the time limit of Section 1 has expired.
Ques. Will there be a break/interval/ time given between the sections of MHT CET as per the MHT CET Exam Pattern?
Ans. No, no break would be given in between the papers of each subject. MHT CET Exam Pattern consists of 150 (PCM)/200(PCB) questions divided into 3 (PCM)/ 4 (PCB) respective subject’s sections and all the sections have to be attempted within the time limit of 3 Hours. After 3 hours from starting the candidate's paper would automatically be submitted.

Ans. MHT CET 2021 will have 3 papers and for each paper, you will get 180 minutes. No extra time will be provided to any candidate. The mode of the exam is online. To attempt a maximum number of questions in a given interval of time you need to practice a lot. Try to go for some online mock exams so that you can practice online and can calculate your speed of answering the questions.
