MHT CET 2019 Exam Pattern: Marking Scheme, Guidelines, Weightage, Syllabus

MHT CET 2019 Exam Pattern will release by DTE (Directorate of Technical Education), Maharashtra. The questions in entrance exam are based on syllabus of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. Approximately 20% weightage will be given to class 11th curriculum and 80% weightage will be given to class 12th curriculum while setting the question paper.   • The exam consists of 3 papers conducted in online mode. These are MCQ-based and the duration is 90 minutes for each. Check MHT CET Sample Papers
  • Students who wish to pursue career in Pharmacy must appear for Paper 2 and can choose between paper 1 and paper 3.
  • Engineering aspirants must keep in mind that mathematics paper will be published in English language only.
  • 1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

MHT CET 2019 Exam Pattern (Detailed)

The questions are based on Syllabus of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. MHT CET holds 3 Papers- Paper1 (Mathematics), Paper 2 (Physics & Chemistry) and Paper 3 (Biology). 

  • The difficulty level will be at par with the JEE (Main) for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and difficulty level for Biology will be at par with NEET.
  • The questions will be mainly application based.
  • The question will be set on whole syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics subjects of Std. XII.
  • However, 10 questions from each subject will be based on class 11th.

MHT CET 2019, being a common entrance test, the examination has been divided into three papers.

Provided below is the distribution of subjects, questions, duration and marks in various papers:

Candidates applying for a particular course are required to appear for a specified set of papers:

  • Health Science and BVSc AH candidates are required to attempt Paper I and Paper II.
  • Engineering candidates are required to attempt Paper I and Paper III.
  • Pharmacy candidate are required to attempt Paper I and Paper II/Paper III.

Note: Exam will be conducted at all the district headquarters in the State of Maharashtra.

Marking Scheme

MHT CET 2019 exam consists of 3 sections- Paper I will comprise of Physics and Chemistry, Paper II will be based on Botany and Zoology while Paper III will include questions related to Mathematics. Only the difference varies in per mark question in the 3 papers. MHT CET Statistics

  • As per the press note relesed by DTE Maharashtra, in 2019, 4,35,606 candidates registered for MHT CET and 4,19,052 appeared for it.
  • In 2017, 3,89,520 candidates had registered for the MHT CET. Of which, 3,76,282 candidates (96.60%) appeared for the exam.
  • In 2016, 4,09,276 candidates had registered for MHT CET whereas only 3,97,768 candidates took the test. 

Important Instructions

MHT CET is a pen paper based test. Candidates will be provided with OMR answer sheets with each question paper. At the end of each paper, they must hand over the OMR Answer sheet to the invigilator. But they are permitted to take the Question Booklet outside the exam centre.

Following are some instructions to follow while answering on OMR sheet.

  • Mark the correct answer by darkening the corresponding circle against the serial number of the question in the answer sheet with black ballpoint pen only.
  • Do not mark answer like half circle, tick mark, or cross etc. This may not be read by the scanner.

  • Darken one and the only one best response as no change in the answer once marked is allowed.
  • Please do not fold the OMR sheet and do not make any stray marks on it.

Hi Manoj, Yes you are eligible. But please check the eligibility criteria: Candidates must have passed HSC/equivalent exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with any one of the subjects – Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical/Vocational subjects. In these subjects taken together, the candidates should have secured a minimum of 50 % marks (for General Category) and at least 45 % marks (for reserved category and Persons with Disability candidates) belonging to Maharashtra State only). OR Candidates must have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and secured a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks (for General category) and at least 45 % aggregate marks (for reserved/backward category/Persons with Disability) belonging to Maharashtra State only.

Syllabus for MHTCET is 12 std and 11th std is proportional 80:20 or 50:50 like jee
