    MHT CET Exam Pattern has been released by DTE Maharashtra with an official notification on the web portal. Approximately, 20% weightage will be given to class 11th curriculum and 80% weightage will be given to class 12th curriculum while setting the question paper. Check MHT CET Syllabus

    • The paper will have MCQs and the time duration to solve these questions will be 180 minutes. 
    • 2 marks will be awarded for every correct answer in mathematics paper and 1 mark in other papers.
    • Students appearing for the engineering stream have to appear for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics papers.
    • Students who wish to pursue a career in Pharmacy must appear for Physics & Chemistry and can choose between Maths or Biology.

    The questions will be based on the syllabus of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. MHT CET holds paper for 3 subjects that is Mathematics/Biology, Physics & Chemistry.

    • The difficulty level will be on par with the JEE (Main) for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and difficulty level for Biology will be on par with NEET.
    • The questions will be mainly application based. The question will be set on the whole syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics subjects of Std. XII.
    • However, 10 questions from each subject will be based on class 11th. MHT CET 2020, being a common entrance test, the examination has been divided into three papers.

    Candidates applying for a particular course are required to appear for a specified set of papers. Provided below is the distribution of subjects, questions, duration, and marks in various papers:

    • Engineering candidates are required to attempt or appear for PCM
    • Pharmacy candidate are required to attempt or appear for PCM or PCB
    • PCM/PCB are divided into 2 Groups/Slots: In Group 1, candidates will get 90 minutes to complete physics & chemistry. In Group 2, candidates will get 90 minutes to complete Maths/Biology.

    MHT CET 2020 exam consists of 3 sections- Section 1 will comprise of Physics and Chemistry, Section 2 will be based on Botany and Zoology while Section 3 will include questions related to Mathematics. Only the difference varies in per mark question in the 3 papers.     As per the data of MHT CET exam conducted in 2017, 2018, 2019 you can see a rise in the number of candidates registered.

    • As per the press note released by DTE Maharashtra, in 2019, 4,35,606 candidates registered for MHT CET and 4,19,052 appeared for it.
    • In 2018, 3,89,520 candidates had registered for the MHT CET. Of which, 3,76,282 candidates (96.60%) appeared for the exam.
    • In 2017, 4,09,276 candidates had registered for MHT CET whereas only 3,97,768 candidates took the test.

    Ques. Are we allowed to carry our Calculator in MHT CET 2020 exam?

    Ans. No, you are not allowed to carry any electronic item with you in the exam. Doing so could result in your disqualification from the whole process. Certain rules and regulations will be written in your admit card and you have to follow them. The exam was scheduled to be conducted in the month of July & August 2020 but due to current situations, the dates have been postponed till further notice. 

    Ques. What is the time duration of MHT CET 2020 exam?

    Ans. The exam will have 3 papers and for each paper, you will get 180 minutes. No extra time will be provided to any candidate. The mode of the exam is online. To attempt a maximum number of questions in a given interval of time you need to practice a lot. Try to go for some online mock exams so that you can practice online and can calculate your speed of answering the questions.

    Ques. What will be the difficulty level of MHT CET 2020 exam?

    Ans. The difficulty level will be on par with the JEE (Main) for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and difficulty level for Biology will be on par with NEET. So candidates are advised to start preparing for exam well in advance.

    Ques. What will be the marking scheme of questions?

    Ans. 2 marks will be awarded for every correct answer in mathematics paper and 1 mark in other papers. You have to attempt 3 papers in 180 minute each and each paper will have 50 questions. The level of difficulty will be equal to other competitive exams like JEE, NEET. You can try to answer all the questions because there will be no negative marking in the exam.

    Hi Manoj, Yes you are eligible. But please check the eligibility criteria: Candidates must have passed HSC/equivalent exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with any one of the subjects – Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical/Vocational subjects. In these subjects taken together, the candidates should have secured a minimum of 50 % marks (for General Category) and at least 45 % marks (for reserved category and Persons with Disability candidates) belonging to Maharashtra State only). OR Candidates must have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and secured a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks (for General category) and at least 45 % aggregate marks (for reserved/backward category/Persons with Disability) belonging to Maharashtra State only.
