Prepare Effectively with MHT CET Previous Year Question Papers

The previous years' question papers play a vital role in the preparatory work for MHT CET. If candidates include preceding year papers in their preparation and solve them wisely, it would help them score high.

Keep in mind the following pointers while solving previous years’ question papers of MHT CET -

    1. Observe the shift in question trends: By answering questions from previous years, candidates will see how MHT CET has evolved over the years. They also can test the pattern changes in the exam. That way, candidates can effectively plan their strategy.
    2. Determine question weightage: Candidates will find out about the weightage of questions asked from each subject after answering 3-4 questions sample papers. Although this weightage may vary, you can get a rough idea about the same. Apart from practice, the other significant usage of MHT CET question papers from the previous year is to write down the topics' weightage, since there are always some topics which have the maximum weightage.
    3. Know your concepts and achieve accuracy: You can easily clear your concepts by answering various types of questions from different papers. Solving MHT CET question papers from the previous year on a regular basis will also help improve the accuracy. Quite obviously, you can score higher with a good level of accuracy.
    4. Perceive Practice Papers as Mock Tests: Aspirants must be well prepared for the actual exam. This can be done by solving the papers of the previous year. Establish an exam-like environment and attempt to solve the sample papers in the same way that you would solve the real examination paper. Set the timer to three hours, and within that time, answer all the questions. This will help you to build several approaches that will assist you when attempting the actual MHT CET 2020.
    5. Evaluate the level of difficulty: Candidates are encouraged to keep a tab on the level of difficulty in all the previous years’ papers they solve. Suppose you find these papers difficult to answer, then you will know that you have to work harder to score well.

Benefits of Solving Previous Years’ Papers of MHT CET

Apart from recognizing the exam pattern and its difficulty level, you can also identify your weak and strong areas. While the question papers are being solved, make a note of the sections or topics that you find difficult to answer. Later, practice more to strengthen your weak areas. More advantages of solving MHT CET Question Paper are outlined below:

    • Candidates can increase the speed at which they solve questions while retaining accuracy.
    • For the actual examination, candidates can learn how to manage time effectively. Candidates may get a better idea of the test pattern of MHT CET.
    • Also, you can examine what kind of questions are asked and what the marking scheme is.
    • You can evaluate your level of preparation. That will also help you improve your strategic plan to crack the examination.
    • MHT CET Question Paper gives an indication of the real scenario for the test.
    • The solving of question papers from the previous year will also build confidence.
    • Also, you could identify the most significant topics. After doing this, you can practice these topics more often.

MHT CET 2018 Question Paper - Students Review

It is helpful to understand the viewpoints of students who have answered MHT CET in the previous years. This will make you understand how the papers were and how you can prepare accordingly.

    • Students indicated that they found that MHT-CET 2018 was one of the easiest engineering entrance exams.
    • The paper's difficulty point, according to them, was not even half as compared with the 2018 JEE Mains.
    • Another statement from the students was that they encountered no time-management problem in both papers this year.
    • There were fewer calculations and even some non-numerical questions.
    • All three subjects were of moderate difficulty, namely, mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
    • There have been more numerical-based problems in Physics than theoretical ones.
    • In Chemistry, Chemical bonding and Organic Chemistry posed many questions.
    • It was quite easy for a well-prepared student to attempt 130 out of 150 questions having an accuracy of around 85 to 90 per cent.

    Subject-wise Tips for MHT CET

Each topic of the syllabus has a critical role to play in clearing MHT CET 2020. Candidates must be skilful in preparing for subject matter. The test would offer 20 percent weightage to the standard XI curriculum and 80 per cent weightage to the standard XII curriculum when the question paper is being set. Instead of implementing the same technique of practice to all subjects, seek to follow the methods of study as per the subject requirements.

Before you start attempting MHT CET question papers, follow these tips to score better.

    Physics

Physics is a very typical topic, as it includes mathematical formulae and derivations. Thus, more and more practice is required. Candidates could do well in physics through everyday practice, and work to solve the derivation, rather than attempting to cram it. Candidates have to go through the papers of the previous year and refer to NCERT books, because they will help reinforce the basic concepts.

    • Attempting to solve the subject of numerical physics is a significant challenge for students, but daily learning reinforces the computational abilities.
    • Keep tabs on time when answering a question. This helps manage the time effectively during the examination.

    Chemistry

Chemistry is the subject that has the highest scoring prospects in the MHT CET. Students, with a bit of hard work, can get better scores in this segment. Mostly, questions concerning chemistry would be asked from the 12th standard syllabus, and you will have to grasp this topic well to ace the exam.

    • Students should learn all basic chemical principles and seek to grasp the equations of both molecules and mixtures.
    • Numerical chemistry is not very difficult for candidates to reach quite good marks seamlessly.

    Mathematics

Mathematics is wholly based on calculations and derivations so you have to work a lot with calculations. Concentrate more on topics such as Conic Section with an ellipse, hyperbola, parabola and rectangular parabola, Trigonometry, Vectors, 3D, and Integral Calculus to get good marks. Note that there will be no calculator allowed in the test. Manually solve all the questions while practising. That will enable you to increase your speed.

    • Make a note of formulas on one page and repeatedly try to revise them.
    • Discover techniques, math solutions and memory processes, so papers can be quickly and efficiently solved.

    Biology

Biology is a key subject of the MHT CET Exam. Therefore, candidates have to prepare well for the topics of Biology. Biology consists of questions relating to Zoology and Botany. Students therefore need to be aware of the basics of the subject, and also use flow charts. Candidates need to adequately revise the topics of zoology and botany because the concepts or wording in these topics are difficult and complicated. So, revision does make the paper well understood.

    • Ensure that you prepare with the updated syllabus and exam pattern. The highest marks in the question paper will be covered by biology.
    • Consistently study zoology and botany, because marks are divided evenly.
