NATA 2020: Result Test-2 (Declared), Score Card, Merit List, Cutoff and Counselling
NATA 2020 Result for Test -2 has been declared on September 18, 2020. The exam was conducted successfully on September 12, 2020. Result for Test-1 has been declared online on September 4, 2020. - CoA has also released a revised NATA Syllabus and mode of exam. Earlier Part A i.e. Drawing Test was conducted in an offline mode but from this year this paper it is decided to conduct it in online mode.
- NATA 2020 Exam Pattern has also been revised. Part A is now of Drawing with 3 questions of 125 marks. Part B will have PCM questions instead of Mathematics and General Aptitude-Logical Reasoning with 50 questions of 75 marks.
According to NATA 2020 Eligibility Criteria, candidates passed or appearing in 10+2 with PCM or 10+3 with Mathematics as a compulsory subject are eligible to apply for the course. Qualifying Marks for NATA 2020:
- A minimum of 25% must be secured in MCQ portion (32 out of 125)
- A minimum of 25% must be secured in Drawing portion (18 out of 75)
- Overall qualifying marks (out of 200) would be based on post-exam statistics and at the discretion of the Council
Note: Candidates failing to satisfy the above-mentioned conditions will not be considered as a qualified candidate in NATA.
NATA 2020 Response Sheet
The authorities have released the response sheet for Test-1 along with the declaration of result. The response sheet will have the response marked by the candidates which candidates compare with the correct answers with the help of NATA 2020 Anwer keys when released. Know More
- It must be noted that Council of Architecture (CoA) will release NATA 2020 answer key only after taking into consideration the challenges received against the provisional answer key.
- Also, there will be no review available for the drawing test and no provision for post-publication review.
How to use NATA Response Sheet?
For calculating the score using NATA answer key, candidates have to use the marking scheme of the exam. Each correct answer will give 2 marks and there is no negative marking for attempting an incorrect answer. To calculate the score, candidates can use the formula given below:

NATA Re-Test for Candidates
The authorities have released a notice in which some clarification is given regarding the re-test and some other issues. Read More
- NATA Test 2 will be conducted in 3 sessions on Sep 12, 2020. Session 1 and 3 will be conducted in CBT mode and session 2 in HBT mode.
- The re-test will be conducted on the same date i.e. Sep12, 2020, and if in case candidates have registered for test 2 also then they will be provided different sessions.
- No fees will be charged from candidates who are appearing for re-test.
- HBT candidates who have been provided the chance to appear for re-test need to appear for the test in the CBT mode only. These candidates are also suggested to take the second test in CBT mode only if opted.
- Also, CBT candidates who have in case changed their preference from CBT to HBT for the second test are suggested to appear for CBT mode only.
- Candidates will be informed about their test centers etc through admit card and no request for a change in the center, rescheduling of re-test, etc will be entertained.
Eligibility Criteria for NATA 2020
Before applying for the examination, candidates must fulfill the required eligibility criteria which are given below:
- Age Criteria: There is no Age limit to apply for National Aptitude Test in Architecture.
- Qualifying Examination: Passed in 10+2 scheme of examination or 10+3 diploma examination. Candidates appearing in 2020 are also eligible to apply for NATA. International Baccalaureate Diploma passed/appearing, after 10 years of schooling with Mathematics as a compulsory subject of examination.
- Qualifying Exam Subjects: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and 10+3 Diploma holders (any stream)/ appearing recognized by Central/ State Government with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
- Art Stream Candidates: Candidates having Art Stream are also eligible if they have qualified Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects conducted by CBSE.

How to fill NATA 2020 Application Form?
Filling up the Application Form is interactive in nature by following some simple steps. The process is completely online and is as follows:
Step 1: Visit NATA Official Website nata.in and navigate to Online Application 2020.
Step 2: Fill personal details like name, parents name, DoB, correspondence address likewise. 8 digit numeric Application Number will be generated for the candidate. After which applicants have to choose a password and security question for further login.
Step 3: Login again using the credentials (Application Number and Password) and upload the images in the specified format. Scanned recent colour photograph, preferably in white background and clear signature on white paper in jpg/ jpeg format has to be uploaded.

Candidates can make payment through online mode (Electronic Payment Gateway) using debit card/credit card and net banking. There is no need to send the NATA application form through offline mode or by post.

Important Points related to NATA Admit Card 2020
- One Photo ID Proof (Voter ID, Pan Card/ Aadhar Card/ Driving Licence/ e-Aadhar, or any other ID) must be carried along with the hall ticket at the exam center.

NATA 2020 Exam Centers
For the 2020 session, it is expected that there will be 190 exam centers. Allocation of Exam Center is subject to the availability of more than 200 candidates at a particular exam center/ city. The discretion lies with the Council of Architecture. There is a provision to select Dubai as an Exam center preference. Candidates who choose Dubai as their exam center must choose two more centers as alternatives.
- The Council reserves the right to add or delete some test zones notified.
- The Council reserves the right to allot any test zones other than that opted by the candidates.

The Council of Architecture or COA defines the exam pattern for NATA exam. It has been revised form 2020 session onwards. Highlights of the exam are as follows:
- NATA 2020 will be conducted in two parts namely Part A and Part B.
- Part A comprises of 3 Drawing questions to be answered in online mode on A4 size drawing sheets.
- Part B will have 50 Objective questions on PCM and General Aptitude-Logical Reasoning.

Important Things to know about NATA 2020
- Twice a year: NTA holding JEE Main paper twice a year from last year, 2 candidates for B.Arch admission got a chance to attempt the exam twice and improve their score. Thus, CoA also decided to announce NATA to be held twice a year.
- Admission Process: There is no centralized counselling for the candidates seeking admission in colleges based on NATA score. The qualified candidates have to report to the college/institute of their choice for admission as per the admission criteria of the respective institute/college.
- Two NATA 2020 exams: Aspirants can apply for admission in the colleges with score of any of the two NATA exams that he appears for. However, if a candidate attempts both April and July session, the best score out of both will be used for admission. It is not compulsory to appear for both exams.

NATA 2020 Cutoff
National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2020 Cutoff will be released after the declaration of NATA 2020 result by the conducting authorities. - There is no national-level centralized NATA counselling.

Ans. No, as the exam is conducted only on one day all over the country, rescheduling the examination is not possible.

Ans. Once the choice is made by CoA, no changes will be entertained.
Ques. Can I use a scale or any kind of instrument in NATA Drawing Test?
Ans. No, the test has to be done freehand, therefore no use of a scale or any other instrument is prohibited.
Ques. What do I have to report early to the exam center?
Ans. Candidates are required to report at least 2 hours 30 minutes before the examination commences. This is because of the procedure to verify candidate’s identity and taking the biometrics before final allocation of seat in the examination center. The entire process of verification will take a minimum of 2 hours if the centers are large.
Ques. Is bringing a calculator to the examination center allowed?
Ans. No, all the electronic devices including calculators, mobile phones etc are prohibited inside the examination hall.
Ques. If I have completed my examination, can I leave the hall early?
Ans. No, candidates have to stay inside the examination hall until the examination concludes.
Ques. What will be the duration of NATA?
Ans. The test will be conducted for a duration of 3 hours. Part A must be attempted within 90 minutes and Part B must be attempted within the next 90 minutes. There is no extra timing for PWD category candidates.
Ques. Is the marking scheme for NATA same as the previous year?
Ans. Yes, no new changes have been introduced in NATA marking scheme. For the objective test candidates will be awarded 2 marks for every correct answer.
Ques. Will there be any negative marking for incorrect answers?
Ans. No, there will be no negative marking for unanswered or incorrect answers.
Ques. Are there any centers in foreign cities? And is the examination fee different for the exam center?
Ans. Yes, the exam will also be conducted in Dubai. Candidates opting for Dubai as their exam center have to pay an additional fee of INR 8000.
Ques. Is it required to send the hard copy of filled in the application form?
Ans. No, candidates need not send any hard copies to the exam conducting authorities. The entire application process will be online.
Ques. What is the general difficulty level of the test?
Ans. Keeping in view, the previous year's trends of NATA, the exam is of moderate to difficult level.
Ques. Will the test be conducted online or offline?
Ans. From this year onwards, NATA 2020 will be conducted in an online mode only.
Ques. What if two candidates secure the same rank in the test?
Ans. In case, two candidates securing similar marks and appearing for counselling, preference will be given to the candidates having higher marks in the qualifying academic exam.
