The NEET 2027 syllabus follows the updated National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines based on the Class 11 and Class 12 NCERT curriculum, featuring 79 chapters in total. The NEET syllabus is divided into Physics, Chemistry, and Biology based mainly on NCERT Class 11 and Class 12 topics. In NEET 2027, 180 Questions will be asked, 45 each from Chemistry and Physics, 90 from Biology, with a total of 720 marks.
- NEET 2027 Physics has around 20 chapters from Class 11 and 12 NCERT. Chemistry has around 22 chapters. Biology has around 37 chapters across Botany and Zoology.
- Biology is the highest-weightage subject in the NEET syllabus 2027. It carries 90 questions worth 360 marks — 50% of your total score.
- The previous year NEET syllabus trends show that Human Physiology, Genetics & Evolution, Ecology, Cell Biology, and Biotechnology contribute to 45% of the NEET biology syllabus.
- Modern Physics, Current Electricity, Optics, Electrostatics, and Mechanics contribute to almost 40% - 45% of the NEET Physics syllabus.
- Similarly, Chemical Bonding, Organic Chemistry, Coordination Compounds, and Electrochemistry contribute to 35% - 40% of the NEET Chemistry syllabus.
The 2024 NMC revision reduced the syllabus from 97 chapters to 79 chapters. This revised list is expected to continue for 2027. The official NEET 2027 syllabus PDF will be available at neet.nta.nic.in after NMC releases the official notification (expected early 2027).
