NMAT Eligibility Criteria 2021 is decided by GMAC. The basic eligibility criteria for NMAT 2021 includes Nationality, age limit and qualifications. Candidates with a bachelor's degree from a recognised university can apply for NMAT Exam, and there are some criteria for NRI Students. The other eligibility criteria varies as per the institution, and it is important to go through before NMAT 2021 Registration

The Eligibility Criteria for NMAT varies as per the requirements of the institution candidates are applying at. There is no reservation policy for the NMAT Exam, except for widows, wards of armed forces personnel killed and Kashmiri Migrants in some cases. There is no upper age limit for registration.

International Students

NMAT 2021 Eligibility - International Students

The eligibility criteria for International Students is as follows: 

NMAT Eligibility for International Students
Educational Qualifications Full-time Bachelor degree (10+2+3/4) in any discipline from any recognized University 
Minimum Marks Minimum aggregate of 50% marks in first attempt
GMAT Score  600+ (the GMAT score for the last three years will be taken into consideration)
Work Experience 2+ years of post-qualification experience 
Additional Criteria All the admissions for international candidates are subject to them getting clearance from the candidate’s government (if required) and a student visa from the Indian Embassy in the candidate’s country.

MNIMS Campuses

NMAC Eligibility Criteria for MNIMS Campuses

Campus Criteria
Thapar school of management Graduates or post graduate in any discipline with 50% marks or CGPA
Amrut Mody school management 50% or equivalent from a recognized university. 45% for SC or ST candidates
MISB Bocconi 50% marks in 10th, 12th, and graduation level
Shiv Nadar Must have completed graduation degree or equivalent, with at Graduation with 50% or equivalent CGPA recognized universities or professional body such as ICSI, ICAI, ICWAI
GITAM school of international business Graduate or equivalent from a recognized university

Things to Note for NMAT 2021 Eligibility

Apart from the basic eligibility criteria, there are some other important things to note while applying for NMAT 2021. Applicants are advised to go through the following before NMAT Registration

  • AIU certificate is mandatory for the candidates who have completed their graduation from overseas Universities.
  • Reservation of seats for the widows/wards of armed forces personnel killed/disabled in action or during peacetime and wards of Kashmiri migrants will be applicable for those candidates who have successfully met the desired cut-offs and other eligibility requirements of the respective course/s applied at the time of registration.
  • For the full-time courses, candidates who are currently appearing for the final examination of their Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply. In such a case, provisional admission shall be granted.
  • Provisional admission is subject to clearing the final examination of his/her Bachelor’s degree with at least fifty percent aggregate in marks. 
  • At the time of admission, candidates are required to produce semester-wise/ trimester-wise/ consolidated (if individual mark sheets are not issued by University / Institute) mark sheets of all years from the college he/she has graduated from.
  • In the case of internet/printed copies of mark sheets, attestation of the same by the Principal with the official seal is mandatory/required, without which it will not be accepted.
  • Candidates who have passed or have appeared for their graduation examination from a University where Grade Point Average system is followed, are then required to produce the equivalent percentage for the GPA/CGPA obtained in writing from the concerned University.

Ques: What is the eligibility criteria for NMAT 2021?

Ans: Yes, Candidates should graduate with a minimum 50% or should be in the final year of graduation to apply for NMAT. GMAC specifies that it is the candidates' responsibility to check the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. In case candidates are found ineligible to appear for the exam, no refund of fees will be made.

Ques: Can NRI candidates also apply for NMAT?

Ans: Yes, NRI and Indian both candidates are eligible for NMAT. A Bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks is mandatory along with a GMAT score above 600. Work experience is generally given preference while selecting foreign nationals. 

Ques: Is the eligibility criteria the same for every institute?

Ans: Eligibility criteria for NMAT vary as per the course selected by the candidate. General eligibility is the same for all the participating institutes in NMAT. Though final selections are based on preference and shortlisting procedure of the institute. For instance, candidates having professional experience of more than 1 year are given preference. 

Ques: How many times can I appear for NMAT ?

Ans: Candidates can appear for a maximum number of 3 times in NMAT. This includes no show- which means if candidates fail to appear in the exam due to personal reasons.

Ans. One of my friends also opted for conversion. According to him, in recent year's cut-offs, chances of anyone to be shortlisted would be possible if you manage to score around 207-209.  This goes for sectional cut-offs too, like-  Sections Cut off Logical Reasoning 60-61 QA 72-74 Verbal 55-56 If I assume that you have already managed to clear these cut-offs (sectional or non-sectional) and have a good score of 222, chances of converting your call are really, really high.  Read the following points to understand how your NMAT score would not be an exclusive aspect if you really want to pursue a course at NMIMS.  The entire admission process encompasses various factors. Like your academic background, work experience, case discussion, and eventually a personal interview round.  The selection aspect includes the NMAT score. But students with a low score have not managed to make it.  This also proves how you have to have a good Case Discussion and Personal Interview (CDPI) score to eventually make it.  There have been instances where the students have managed to score pretty well. But since they didn't perform well in their CDPI, they could not convert the call. Although, in 2020 the NMAT Exam Pattern has changed itself a bit. The time limit is just the same. The number of questions has been lessened. Expect the NMAT cut-off to surge. There also have been speculations that the number of questions would be unknown making the NMAT exam cut-off pointless to assume already.Read more

Ans. Post NMAT process at NMIMS Mumbai includes Writing SOP, CD and PI. The following points are based on my sister’s experience at the institute: CD: Case Discussion is like a group discussion but very different from it.  A structured analysis of a particular circumstance is given as a case.  To clear, the CD makes sure the student makes 2-3 meaningful entries in 15 mins. If the case is long and you are in between the first two persons to speak, make sure to crisply present the problem.  You will be needed to give a clear direction and structure to the problem. SOP & PI: The panel will have your Statement of Purpose. SOP is a representation of the best qualities, journey and achievements with importance on why you yearn to pursue an MBA in NMIMS.  The SOP should be well structured and best described.  You need to make your stories fall in place.  Questions relevant to work experience, previous projects, or internships are usually asked in PI.  Apart from that, some interviewees might end up asking random abstract questions just to check the presence of mind and thought process. Ans. Since the cut-offs range around and over 190+, there is a vivid chance of you getting the admission call from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneshwar (XIMB). If you in any chance put your target for the XIMB-HR department, then you should definitely make sure to obtain a good scoring in the LS section of NMAT, which is basically the Language Section.  Revised in 2020 by GMAC, NMAT is supposed to be centered around having 12 questions less when compared to 2019.  As also mentioned by a friend who appeared in NMAT, is to prepare thoroughly for the GD-PI section which certainly can fetch you XIMB. It is because your score is just above the cutoff, and an additional good GD-PI is supposed to affect your score on the upper side of the hill.  The scoring rate and other relative factors are subjected to vary as per guidelines, and the year date. The NMAT score for XIMB from the past year was estimated at a different rate. The outlook of which is mentioned beneath: Look at the various cut-off ranges, that similarly are subject to change each year, as per criterion. Ans. NMAT, SNAP, and CMAT are some of the Management entrance aptitude tests conducted by different exam bodies in India. All these exams have a set of colleges that accepts these scores. All three exams are computer-based and follow Objective Type Questions (MCQ) question format. These three exams have varying difficulty levels. SNAP conducted by Symbiosis University is tough compared to the other two exams NMAT and CMAT. NMAT and SNAP have a similar level of difficulty but SNAP has a tough choice of questions compared to NMAT. CMAT is the least difficult exam among all the three exams. Hi Pradeepraj, Yes you can attempt both the exam in same year as NMAT is conducted 3 times a year and MAT is conducted 4 times in a year. So by proper planning it i spossible to give both exam together in a single year.

The structure of NMAT is similar to any othe management test liek MAT or CAT with minor differences. 5 sections in MAT are Indian and Global Environment, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning while topics in NMAT are Language Skills, Quantitative Analysis and Logical Reasoning.

Hi Ananya, There are no hidden charges for application. For general category, the application fee is INR 4000 and for reserved category it is INR 3500. If you are paying online, bank charges will be additional. Also, in case a candidate wish to cancel the application, the money will be refunded with some minor deductions.
