NMAT Eligibility Criteria 2020- Course-wise and International Applicants

    GMAC has laid down the basic eligibility criteria (nationality, age criteria, and qualification) required to apply for NMAT 2020. The exam will be held in multiple slots between October 5 to December 19, 2020. Candidates holding bachelor’s degree from a recognised college/institute with minimum 50% marks are eligible to apply for the exam.

    Latest Update: GMAC has announced exam dates, NMAT Registration Process will commence from July 2, 2020. 

    • The eligibility requirements in NMAT vary institute-wise. Test takers are advised to check the websites of each university and school where they plan to apply.
    • If a candidate is found to be ineligible for the desired course, no refund of the application fee is made.
    • There is no reservation policy. However, some seats may be reserved for widows, wards of armed forces personnel killed and Kashmiri Migrants in some colleges.
    • Foreign candidates with a GMAT score of six hundred or above (of last 3 years) can also apply. There is no upper age limit for registrants. Also, candidates with work experience are eligible for application. 

    Candidates qualifying the examination will be eligible for MBA admissions in NMIMS University and 35 other top B-schools in India. In addition NMAT Scores are also accepted by certain institutes in Philippines, Nigeria and South Africa. Candidates of both Indian and Foreign origin with Bachelor’s Degree are eligible to apply for the test.

    The eligibility criteria for NMAT by GMAC 2020 for different courses are as follows:

    MBA (Mumbai Campus)

    • Candidates with a full-time Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3/4) from a recognized University are eligible to apply for NMAT 2020.
    • The degree can be of any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in first the attempt.
    • Part-time graduates, distance-learning or correspondence course are not eligible to apply.

    MBA HR [Mumbai Campus (selection process for this is separate)]

    • Candidates with a full-time Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3/4) from a recognized University are eligible to apply.
    • The degree can be of any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in first the attempt.
    • Graduates through a part-time or distance learning or correspondence course are not eligible to apply.

    MBA Pharmaceutical Management [Mumbai Campus (selection process for this is separate)]

    • Full-time Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3/4) from a recognized University in Pharmacy, Life Science, MBBS, BDS, Science, BAMS, BHMS, B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biotechnology are eligible.
    • A minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the first attempt is necessary.
    • Post-graduate degree in Psychology, Sociology, and Economics may also apply.
    • Applicants with a B.Tech or B.E in Bio-Tech. or Bio-Medical may also apply.
    • Graduates through a part-time or distance learning or correspondence course are not eligible to apply.
    • Candidates working in pharmaceutical companies for more than two years are preferred.

    PGDM 

    • Full-time Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3/4) from a recognized University in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the first attempt.
    • Graduation through a part-time or distance learning or correspondence course  is not eligible to apply.

    Foreign Candidates Eligibility

    NMAT Eligibility for International Candidates

    International applicants can also apply for their choice of course (s) via NMAT by GMAC. The detailed eligibility criteria for the same are described below in the following points:

    • Any international candidate willing to apply must have a full-time Bachelor degree (10+2+3/4) in any discipline from any recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the first attempt.
    • The applicants must also have valid a GMAT score of six hundred and above (the GMAT score for the last three years up to October 2020 will be taken into consideration).
    • International candidates having more than 2 years of post-qualification experience will be preferred.
    • All the admissions for international candidates are subject to them getting clearance from the candidate’s government (if required) and a student visa from the Indian Embassy in the candidate’s country.

    Things to Remember

    Key Points for NMAT by GMAC Eligibility 2020

    Apart from the eligibility criteria as mentioned before in the article, given below are some important points to remember and other important instructions regarding the eligibility requirements and criteria for NMAT by GMAC 2020. Applicants are advised to go through the following before NMAT Registration.

    • AIU certificate is mandatory for the candidates who have completed their graduation from overseas Universities.
    • Reservation of seats for the widows/wards of armed forces personnel killed/disabled in action or during peacetime and wards of Kashmiri migrants will be applicable for those candidates who have successfully met the desired cut-offs and other eligibility requirements of the respective course/s applied at the time of registration.
    • For all full-time courses, candidates who are currently appearing for the final examination of their Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply. In such a case, provisional admission shall be granted.
    • Provisional admission is, however, subject to clearing the final examination of his/her Bachelor’s degree with at least fifty percent aggregate in marks. Candidates who are selected are required to produce all the necessary documents, in original, within the stipulated time.
    • At the time of admission, candidates are required to produce semester-wise/trimester-wise/consolidated (if individual mark sheets are not issued by University/Institute) mark sheets of all years from the college he/she has graduated from.
    • In a case of internet/printed copies of mark sheets, attestation of the same by the Principal with the official seal is mandatory/required, without which it will not be accepted.
    • Candidates who have passed or have appeared for their graduation examination from a University where Grade Point Average system is followed, are then required to produce the equivalent percentage for the GPA/CGPA obtained in writing from the concerned University.

    NMAT by GMAC Registration 2020

    NMAT by GMAC 2020 Registration will be open from July 2, 2020 till October16, 2020. The steps for NMAT Registration are mentioned below:

    1. Visit the official website of NMAT by GMAC i.e. nmat.org.in.
    2. Create an account with a valid email address.
    3. Provide contact information, personal, educational and work experience, the list of programs to send scores, and the ID that you will use at the test center.
    4. Select schools where you wish to send your result. This will be under the "Programme Details" section.
    5. Select up to 7 programs which are included in their registration fee. An additional fee of INR 200 + applicable taxes is applicable for each program added over and above 7 programs.
    6. The photograph must have a resemblance to the candidate and to the photograph on the primary ID. This photograph is included on the admit card.
    7. Pay the registration fee.
