NMAT by GMAC is conducted for admission into MBA/ PGDM Courses. It is extremely important to prepare laboriously in order to score excellent marks. This year, NMAT 2019 is scheduled from October 4 to December 17. Candidates must book a slot as per their preference and real time availability at the time of registration, ending on October 16. NMAT can be taken up to a maximum of 3 times (first attempt plus 2 retakes).

Before starting with NMAT preparation, it is important to know its exam pattern. The NMATquestion paper consists of 3 sections- Language, Quants and Logical Reasoning. It is a computer-based test of 2 hours (120 minutes). Each section is timed individually and the aspirants have to attempt the sections in the defined time frame.

NMAT Section-wise Preparation Tips

Section 1: Logical Reasoning 

  • This section consists of 40 questions out of 120 questions.
  • Candidate must be thorough with the syllabus first.
  • This section has to be completed in 38 minutes.

Section 2: Language Skills

  • In this section, 32 questions are to be completed in 22 minutes.

  • No one can learn all the grammar rules in one time.

  4. Read all passages two times to get the theme of comprehension part & then answer the questions. Do not read again & again if you are not able to understand what have been said in the passages. It just appears to be waste of your time.
  5. Reading newspapers & magazines is a must. Because it enhances your vocabulary & grammar skills so that you will be more efficient in answering questions.
  6. High level of thinking is required so that you could infer the quoted message from the text.
