NTSE 2018 Result

The State Education Boards of all 28 States have declared the NTSE 2018 Stage 1 Result. Candidates who qualified the Stage 1 and got shortlisted in the NTSE result, are eligible to sit for the Stage 2 of NTSE 2018 examination. Candidates can check here the NTSE 2018 result of Stage 1 and 2 on this page.

  • The Stage 2 of NTSE 2018 is scheduled to be held on May 13, 2018. Click Here To check Result
  • NTSE result 2018 Stage 2 or the final result of NTSE 2018 for awarding scholarship will be declared in the month of August by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
  • After the final NTSE result 2018 are announced, the selected candidates will get an amount of INR 1250 per month in class XI and XII and INR 2000 per month for pursuing their under-graduation and above.
  • NTSE 2018 Answer Keys will be released in the 3rd week of May 2018. 
  • The NCERT will award NTSE Scholarship to the successful candidates, based on their performances in stage 1 and stage 2.
  • Aspirants will be required to sign a claim bill for the disbursement of scholarship. They must follow certain rules and regulations in order to receive scholarship upto PhD level.

NTSE 2018 Results Date

How to Check NTSE 2018 Result?

Candidates can find below the steps to check the result of NTSE 2018:

  1. Login onto the official website or click on the direct link provided below soon after the declaration of the result.
  2. Enter the Required Credentials i.e. roll number and the date of birth in mm/dd/yy format.
  3. Type the captcha code shown on the right-hand side and hit ‘submit’. The NTSE Result 2018 will be displayed on the screen.
  4. Download and take a printout of the result and save a copy for future reference.

Note: Incase aspirants find a discrepancy in their result; they may contact the governing body. They can register their complaints through mail at ntsexam.ncert@gov.in within a stipulated period of time.

Final NTSE Result 2018

  • The final NTSE results will mention scores and names shortlisted candidates who qualify the Stage-II examination.
  • Candidates are selected for the final award on the basis of their score in both the exams.
  • The scholarships will be awarded to the students selected on the basis of final merit list once stage II result of NTSE 2018 is announced.
  • For the year 2018 final results will be announced by NCERT on August 23, 2018 (tentative).
  • Qualified candidates will be awarded scholarship along with award letter and certificate of merit.

NTSE 2018 Cut off

Karnataka has declared the state wise NTSE cut off 2018. Candidates need to satisfy the minimum cutoff marks as specified by the exam conducting bodies for state level NTSE exam 2018 as well as for stage 2 to be conducted by NCERT. The criteria for stage 1 exam of NTSE 2018 is as mentioned below -

Selection Criteria for NTSE stage 1 exam -

  • Candidates from all Union Territories appearing for stage 1 exam of NTSE 2018 need to obtain minimum 10 marks in each paper i.e. MAT, SAT and LAT to qualify for NTSE stage 2 exam 2018
  • Whereas, candidates from all states need to score at least 25 marks in each paper of NTSE 2018 stage 1 exam

NTSE 2018 Disbursement of Scholarship

Scholarships will be awarded to students selected on the basis of final merit list once stage 2 result of NTSE 2018 is announced. Aspirants who qualify the exam will an award letter, certificate of merit and details of the disbursement of scholarship in due time by the division.

  • They will be required to fill a Claim Bill every year as long as they want the academic scholarship.
  • This document will contain details about details of the student’s school/ college, course they have opted for along with the various subjects and total marks secured in the particular year.
  • Aspirants will receive the scholarship account by the online mode.
  • They must score a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in order to be awarded the scholarship.
  • If they fail to obtain the minimum marks then scholarship for that year will be forfeited.
  • Aspirants will be rendered ineligible for scholarship payment if they fail to score the minimum aggregate for 2 consecutive or non-consecutive years.

About 1000 students will be granted NTSE scholarships every year. The amount of scholarship will vary according to the academic qualifications of students.

NTSE Result 2018 FAQs

Ques. How many scholarships are awarded every year?

Ans: About 1000 scholarships are awarded every year.

Ques. Is there any reservation for scholarships?

Ans: There is a provision of reservation for ST and SC candidates based on National norms of 15% and 7.5%, respectively. Only those candidates who obtain minimum qualifying marks under these categories are eligible for the scholarship. Moreover, there is a provision of 3% reservation for physically challenged students.

Ques. Does NTSE have provision of reservation for physically challenged students?

Ans: Yes, there is a provision for 3% reservation for physically challenged students.

Ques. How long will successful candidates be getting a scholarship?

Ans: The awardees studying Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, Languages, Commerce, Vocational courses are eligible to receive a scholarship up to Ph.D. level. Awardees studying professional courses in Medicine, Engineering, Technology, Management, and Law are eligible to receive a scholarship up to second-degree level.

Ques. What is the reservation policy in NTSE?

Ans: Here is the reservation policy that is followed in NTSE:

  • SC- 15%
  • ST- 7.5%
  • PH- 3%

Ques. Is there any state quota in NTSE?

Ans: Yes, there is state quota in NTSE Stage-1. i.e. a selected number of candidates from the state will qualify the first round (STSE). However, there is no state quota for the final result.This was all about NTSE result 2018.
