SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern 2018

SSC Stenographer 2018 Exam Pattern will be released for ‘Grade C & Grade D’ posts conducted by SSC (Staff Selection Committee). It is a common exam for candidates who have successfully completed their Intermediate from a recognized board of university.

  • SSC Stenographer 2018 Exam Pattern comprises of 200 objective type questions in Preliminary exam.
  • The exam will be conducted in the online mode
  • Total marks for the exam is 200 which will be conducted for 2 hours
  • In pre-exam questions from Reasoning, General awareness and English sections will be asked.
  • The difficulty of questions is expected to be of secondary level but considering the number of applicants, there will be a tough competition as usual.
  • SSC Stenographer exam is going to be conducted in 2nd week of August 2018

SSC Stenographer 2018 eligibility must be checked by candidates willing to fill the form which will start from the 1st week of June 2018.  All the successfully registered candidates will be issue Admit Cards from the 1st week of August 2018. Result of the exam will be published post successful conduct of the examination.

SSC Stenographer 2018 Exam Pattern

SSC conducts this exam in two stages; Preliminary exam and after qualifying this, applicants need to go through a skill test.  Pre-exam comprises of 3 sections i.e., Reasoning, English Comprehension and General awareness. The questions will be classified as per the table given below:

SSC Stenographer 2018 Marking Scheme

SSC Stenographer 2018 Preliminary exam comprises of 200 objective type questions with weightage of 200 marks carrying 1 mark each. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each negative response. The competition level is quite tough considering the number of applicants. The merit list of the students will be based upon the marks scored by the students in preliminary exam. Marking scheme for the exam is given below.

Exam Pattern for General Intelligence (Reasoning)

General Intelligence test is a form of psychometric testing that is widely used by corporate employers & Government to help assess candidates during the recruitment process. ‘Psychmetric’ is just a fancy way of saying ‘measuring mental ability’ and logical reasoning tests are designed measure your non-verbal skills. This section comprises of 50 questions and marks allotted to this section is 50, hence giving equal importance to each question with 1 mark .

Exam Pattern for English language and Comprehension

English comprehension plays vital role in the selection of a candidate in any competitive exam. This is the most important section of the exam which checks the grammar ability and basic understanding of concepts related to English.

Skill Test

After qualifying the Preliminary examination, candidates need to go through skill test to get selected for the post. The skill test/stenography test will be organized at various sub-regional offices or at some other centers. Candidates who qualifies the preliminary exam and eligible for the skill test, will be given one dictation for the time period of 10 minutes in Hindi as well as English with minimum speed of 100 words per minute for the stenographer grade C posts while for Grade D the minimum speed would be 80 words per minute.
