    TISSNET Paper Analysis 2019: Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) successfully conducted the national-level entrance exam on January 13, 2019 at 39 exam centres across India. As per the experts and students, the General Knowledge section in TISSNET was the toughest section while English and Mathematics were the most scoring sections.

    TISS National Entrance Test (TISSNET) is conducted for the candidates seeking admission in one among the 55 Post-Graduate MA Degree Programs offered by the institute. There is a single question paper for all the MA programs.

    • TISSNET 2020 is conducted in online (computer-based) mode. Check TISSNET Exam Pattern
    • In total there are 100 MCQs to be attempted in 100 minutes. 
    • 1 mark is awarded for each question, and there is no negative marking.
    • It comprises of questions from 3 sections: General Awareness, English Proficiency, and Maths & Logical Reasoning. ReadTISSNET Syllabus

    Mathematics & Logical Reasoning

    This section had a total of 30 questions with 17 from Quants, 7 from DI and 6 from Reasoning. Majority of the questions were either easy or easy to moderate. DI sets were time-consuming for some students.

    English Proficiency

    This section was easier than last year, having 30 MCQs in total. There were no questions on one-word substitutions, analogy and idioms this year. The questions from grammar were straightforward.

    TISSNET Paper Analysis 2017

    Exam Date: January 7, 2017 | Difficulty Level: Easy to moderate | Cutoff: 80-85 for MA-HR

    • TISSNET 2017 was not a very difficult paper to attempt. In fact, it was the easiest in the last 4 years. 
    • The section-wise analysis of TISSNET 2017 is given below:

    General Awareness

    • This was the most difficult section, relative to others.
    • A total of 40 questions were asked from this section.
    • Out of these 40 questions, 25 were static questions and 12 were on current affairs.
    • The candidates scoring a minimum of 20+ can be regarded as the benchmark.
    • The maximum required time for attempting all the questions in this section is around 15 minutes.

    Verbal Ability

    • A total of 30 questions were these in this section.
    • Out of the 30 questions, 5 were on Reading Comprehension.

    • This section had a total of 30 questions, out of which 15 were Logical Reasoning questions with some of them being tricky.
    • A student could have easily scored about 12 or 13 marks in the LR section.

    • The break-up of this section varied for different candidates.
    • Some students got 7 questions on Logical reasoning, 12 questions on Quantitative aptitude and 11 questions on Data Interpretation, whereas some students got 15 questions in Logical reasoning, 8 questions in Quantitative aptitude and 7 questions in Data Interpretation.
