TNTET 2019 Exam Pattern; Mode, Total Questions, Marking Scheme

TNTET 2019 examination is comprised of two papers i.e. Paper I and Paper II. Both the papers will be held in the last week of April 2019. TNTET 2019 will be a pen paper based examination.

Paper 1 will be for the candidates who are willing to teach class I – V and Paper 2 is for candidates those who want to teach class V – VIII. Candidates can take both papers if they want to teach class from I - VIII. 

In Paper I, questions will be asked from the subjects such as Tamil, English, Child Development 7 Pedagogy, Environmental Studies and Mathematics. On the other hand, Paper II questions will come from the subjects namely English, Tamil, Child Development & Pedagogy, Math & Science or Social Science.

Both the examinations will comprise of objective type questions. Candidates are free to attempt all the questions because there is no negative marking for any wrong answers. For every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded.

TNTET 2019 Exam Pattern

To know the examination pattern in advance is a plus point for the candidates who are appearing for the examination. Following is the detailed explanation of examination pattern of both the papers:

Paper I

  • The paper is comprised of 150 multiple choice objective type questions.
  • Total time duration given to complete the examination is 3 hours
  • Questions will be asked from the subjects like Tamil, English, Child Development & Pedagogy, Environmental Studies and Mathematics

Marking Scheme

  • For every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded
  • No marks will be given or deducted for un-attempted questions

Important Instructions

Instructions are written on the back side of the admit card. Candidates must check all the instructions carefully before appearing in the paper. All the instructions are as follows:

  • Candidates must reach the examination centre before the commencement of the examination
  • Electronic devices are not allowed inside the examination hall such as calculators, pagers, mobile phones, digital watches etc.
  • Candidates must carry admit card at the time of examination.
  • They are not allowed to enter the hall without admit card.
  • Candidates cannot leave the examination hall before the completion of the examination.
  • Food or any beverage is not allowed to have during the exam.
  • Applicants cannot mark more than one response to the same questions.
