    TS POLYCET 2020 date has been postponed again. The exam was scheduled to be conducted on July 01, 2020. The step is taken as a preventive measure to ensure safety of candidates against coronavirus pandemic. The State Board of Technical Education and Training Telangana had extended the application form window for TS POLYCET 2020 till June 12, 2020, with a late fee of Rs 100. The exam is conducted for candidates seeking admission in polytechnic courses in engineering/non-engineering/technology offered at various colleges of Telangana State.

    • TS POLYCET 2020 Admit Card is available from June 12, 2020. Candidates can download it till the date of examination.

    Candidates who will appear for TS POLYCET 2020 can check their result online from the official website. No individual result will be sent by the post. Candidates can access their result by using their roll number and date of birth. Candidates must score 36% marks out of 120 in the qualifying examination.

    TS POLYCET 2020 Counseling Process

    Counseling process will begin from 1st week of July, 2020 through online mode. Candidates will be called for counselling based on their rank. The counselling will be held in 3 rounds and the seats will be allotted by the exam conducting authority.

    Scholarship Program

    Pratibha award

    The meritorious students who excel in POLYCET will be awarded a scholarship of Rs. 10,000/- per annum for the entire duration of the course. The students selected for Pratibha award are eligible for the sanction of scholarship if their parent’s annual income from all the sources, including non-taxable sources like agriculture etc, does not exceed INR 1 lakh per annum.

    Q1. Where can TS POLYCET qualified candidates seek admission?

    Ans. TS POLYCET qualified candidates can pursue Diploma programs in Engineering/Technology/Non-Engineering disciplines at various Polytechnic Institutions (Aided/Unaided/Private) and Institutions running as 2nd shift in Private Engineering Colleges in the state of Telangana State.

    Q2. Is there any age criteria for TS POLYCET 2020 eligibility?

    Ans. The State Board of Technical Education & Training (SBTET), Telangana does not prescribe any upper age limit for TS POLYCET applicants. However, for awarding scholarships to TS POLYCET qualified candidates, Social Welfare (Edn.) Department’s guidelines regarding the maximum eligible age for obtaining a scholarship is followed.

    Q3. I have secured a merit rank in TS POLYCET. Does that entitle me to a guaranteed seat for admission into the Institute of my choice?

    Ans. Just securing a TS POLYCET merit rank does not entitle you to a guaranteed seat at your preferred institute, unless you satisfy the eligibility conditions specified for admission.

    Q4. I wish to pursue Diploma programs in either Hotel Management & Catering Technology or Pharmacy. Do I appear for TS POLYCET 2020?

    Ans. Academic Eligibility criteria for Diploma in Hotel Management & Catering Technology and D. Pharmacy is 10 + 2. Candidates willing to pursue these programs need not appear in TS POLYCET 2020. SBTET will issue a separate notification for admission into these programs.

    Q5. Can any candidate write TS POLYCET 2020 in Urdu?

    Ans. Candidates can write TS POLYCET 2020 in either English, Telegu or Urdu. The medium of Examination preference has to be filled in during the application process. Examination in Urdu medium is conducted only at Hyderabad center.

    Q6. What is the application fee for TS POLYCET 2020?

    Ans. Application fee for TS POLYCET 2020 is INR 400 for general category candidates and INR 250 for SC/ST category candidates.

    Q7. When do I get the TS POLYCET Hall Ticket?

    Ans. TS POLYCET Hall Ticket will be available in the month of April 2020.

    Q8. Under what circumstances a TS POLYCET applicant’s candidature can get rejected by SBTET?

    Ans. TS POLYCET Candidatures are liable for rejection on the following grounds:

    • Incomplete application form including photograph, candidate and parent’s signature.
    • Incorrect or false information entered by the candidate in the application form.
    • Not fulfilling the eligibility conditions.
    • Application Form submitted without the requisite application fee.

    Q9. How do I mark my answers to the TS POLYCET OMR Response sheet?

    Ans.  Candidates will have to mark their responses to each question on the OMR Sheet by carefully shading the appropriate circle with HB/2B pencil only. A Ballpoint pen can be used only to sign, write their name, roll number etc. in designated sections.

    Q10.  What is the minimum mark that candidates need to score to qualify TS POLYCET 2020?

    Ans. Candidates need to score at least 30% of the total score or 36 out of 120 to qualify the entrance.

    Q11. Can I request a re-evaluation of my TS POLYCET response sheet?

    Ans. No. Request for re-evaluation or re-totaling will not be entertained under any circumstances.

    Q12. What tie-breaker rules are adopted in TS POLYCET?

    Ans. The following tie-breaker rules are considered in case of a tie during merit ranking in TS POLYCET.

    • Marks scored first in Mathematics and followed by Physics
    • Date of Birth – the older candidate will be given preference.
    • In case the tie is still not resolved after application of the above rules, the candidate who has scored higher marks in the qualifying exam will be given precedence, to resolve the tie.

    Q13. Where can we access the TS POLYCET 2020 results from?

    Ans. The TS POLYCET 2020 results will be released by SBTE&T on the official website. Candidates can access their results from the websites https://polycetts.nic.in or http://sbtet.telangana.gov.in or from any Coordinating-cum-Helpline center. The rank Cards will be available to download from the websites one week after the results are declared.

    Q14.  Do I have to fill a separate form for admission into the Diploma Programs after qualifying TS POLYCET?

    Ans: No, the separate form has to be filled at the time of admission. The application submitted for TS POLYCET 2020 itself is an application for admission under both local and non-local categories.

    Q15. How will we be informed about the counseling schedule?

    Ans: The detailed counseling and admission schedule will be publicly notified via leading newspapers, post TS POLYCET results, inviting candidates for certificate verification and option entry. This Notification is to be treated as a call letter. SBTET will not issue or send separate call letters to attend the admission camp. The details of web-based counseling and venues for certificate verification and option entry can be accessed at https://polycetts.nic.in.

    Q16. What is the percentage of quota in admissions through TS POLYCET 2020?

    Ans: 85% of the seats in each institution/course will be filled by candidates belonging to the three University areas: Andhra University Area (AU), Osmania University Area (OU), and Sri Venkateshwara University Area (SVU) in the ratio of 42:36:22 respectively; the remaining 15% seats as unreserved.

    Q17. What is Multi Point Entry and Credit (MPEC) system and who is eligible?

    Ans. In Multi Point Entry and Credit system, eligible candidates get pre-determined credits for select subjects, as decided by an expert committee. Through MPEC, a candidate can finish the Diploma earlier than the stipulated period. TS POLYCET 2020 qualified candidates who have completed either 10 + 2, 10 + ITI, 10 + Intermediate (Vocational) or 3-year Degree Courses in Sciences are eligible for Multi Point Entry and Credit System (MPEC).

    Q18. How are seats allotted for admission in TS POLYCET?

    Ans. Allotment of seats is based on a computer program that considers the merit of the candidate and the reservation status to find the best possible seat among the eligible options.

    Q19. What is the next step after a seat is allotted to a candidate?

    Ans. Candidates will have to download the allotment order and fee payment challan for payment through designated bank branches. Once payment is made, candidates should report at the allotted college and present the allotment order and fee paid challan within the stipulated time.

    Q20. If I am unable to report to my allotted institute within stipulated date, how can I further secure admission?

    Ans: Candidates who fail to report within stipulated time at the allotted college or does not make the fee payment within the deadline will have to forego all claims on admission through TS POLYCET 2020.

    Q21. I am not very proficient with computers and am unable to apply for TS POLYCET 2020 online. What do I do?

    Ans. SBTET has identified 58 Coordinating-cum-Helpline centers in every District of Telangana state. Candidates can approach these centers for assistance in the TS POLYCET 2020 application process.

    Q22. Is Aadhar Number mandatory to apply for TS POLYCET 2020?

    Ans. No. Aadhar Number is not mandatory for TS POLYCET 2020 application. However, it is desirable.

    Q23. How can I take a print of the filled-in TS POLYCET 2020 application form?

    Ans. After successful submission of the application form online, click on "Application Status" tab to obtain a print of the filled-in application form. In case assistance of the Coordinating-cum-Helpline centers, request the coordinator to print the form for you.
