    UCEED 2020 is scheduled to be held on January 18, 2020. Candidates will have to fill the online application form completely to sit for the exam. UCEED 2020 will be conducted in online mode only. 

    • UCEED exam pattern has changed for admission 2020. The number of questions asked in UCEED exam as well as the marking scheme has changed in UCEED exam.

    UCEED 2020 Marking scheme

    UCEED 2020 is conducted for total duration of 3 hours for 300 marks questions, which are well distributed in three parts. Section A comprises questions related to numerical ability. Section B comprises of one question only that is aimed at testing drawing skills which will require subjective evaluation

    Part A 

    Total marks: 240 marks; Maximum time: 2 hours 30 minutes 

    • Part A of the question paper will be administered through a computer based test. 
    • Part A of the question paper will consist of 3 sections. 

    Section 1 

    •  18 NAT (Numerical Answer Type) Questions
    • Questions will be worth 4 marks each
    • There is no negative marking 
    • For these questions, the answer is a number that needs to be entered using a virtual keyboard in the computer screen. 
    • No choices will be shown for these questions. 
    • Questions that are not attempted will be given zero marks.

    Section 2

    • 18 MSQ (Multiple Select Questions)
    • Questions will be worth 4 marks each 
    • 0.19 negative marking for each question
    • Each MSQ has one or more correct answer(s) out of the four given choices. 

    Section 3 

    • 32 MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) 
    • Questions will be worth 3 marks each 
    • 0.71 negative marking for each question 
    • Each MCQ has four choices out of which only one is the correct answer 
    Exam Pattern UCEED

    Part B 

    Total Marks: 60 marks; Maximum time: 30 minute mark 

    • Part B consists of one question that is aimed at testing drawing skills which will require subjective evaluation. 
    • Question in Part B will be displayed on the computer screen and the answer has to be written / drawn in the answer book provided by the invigilator only. 
    • Part B answer booklets will be collected at the end of the examination. 
    • Part B question is mandatory. 

    The entire paper (both Part A and Part B) must be finished within overall time duration of 3 hours.

    Visualization and spatial ability

    • Focuses on diagrammatic representation of data.
    • It highlights the aspect of interpretation of large volume of data in pictorial form.
    • This helps representing complex data in a simple format.

    Observation and design sensitivity

    • It enhances the ability to extract hidden data.
    • Analysis and logical reasoning plays an important role in defining both people and situation critically.
    • This also helps improvise the difference between tangible and intangible objects.

    Environmental and social awareness

    • It is about the general awareness about the natural resources, temperature and climate.
    • Resources like; water, minerals, vegetation all combine to create the natural resource which needs to be utilized optimally.
    • This requires good amount of designing and planning.
    • The subject also revolves around designing artifacts.

    Analytical and logical reasoning

    • This gives one insight how analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data can be done through analytics and understanding.
    • Every situation, solution and concept can be weighed through analytics.
    • It also gives a clear understanding that there is no place for bias opinion and assumptions.
    •  All are based on data and one need to logically understand and interpret data.
    • So, this area covers questions for data interpretation and brainteaser options.

    Language and creativity

    • This is a wide array where candidates can show their creativity along with a proper display of their grasp over English language.
    • Knowledge in terms of grammar, tenses, verbs, vocabularies and thought process will be gauged.
    • Creativity and innovations plays a big role here.

    Design thinking and problem solving

    • This area will judge if students can identify and analyze complex data.
    • Candidate need to identify problem and generate a solution that will best fit to the situation.
    • Generating solution will also involve reviewing the options available.

    UCEED Part B Syllabus

    ​Drawing 

    • Ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective and shading. 

    UCEED entrance exam will be held on January 18, 2020. In case of any change in date it will be informed prior through website update. Candidates need to check the website on a regular basis to stay updated.

    Exam Day Instructions

    • UCEED 2020 Exam Pattern follows OMR sheet of capturing answers.
    • So, candidates must carry dark HB pencils for their answers to get recognized easily by computer.
    • Details like name, roll number need to be filled carefully.
    •  All the instructions mentioned on OMR sheet needs to be read carefully in order to avoid any possible mistakes.
    • Read the questions carefully and with full concentration since there might be time constrain if one wastes too much time on one question.
    • All three sections need to be attempted with equal zeal hence time distribution is very important to allot equal time to all three sections.
    • Any questions which remains unattempted will be null and void so the score will improve with more questions attempted.
    • Since the last section also carries negative marking so it will be advisable to invest more time on this section and try to do less mistake on this section.

    Ques. What institutes accept the score of UCEED 2020? 

    Ans. The score of UCEED 2020 is accepted by four main institutes: 

    • IIT Bombay
    • IIT Guwahati
    • IIT Hyderabad
    • IITDM Jabalpur

    Other well known institutes also accept UCEED 2020 score for admission. These colleges do not participate in the Joint Counselling held by the only participating institutes. Candidates have to apply for admission / counselling separately to each of them. Check UCEED Participating Institutes
