MSQ Partial Marking Rule: For MSQ questions, if you select some (but not all) correct options and do NOT select any wrong option, you earn partial credit = (number of correct options you selected ÷ total correct options for that question) × 4. If you select even one wrong option, −1 mark is deducted regardless of how many correct options you also selected.

There is no negative marking for NAT (Section 1) questions — always attempt every NAT question in UCEED 2027.

You earn full marks (+4) only if you select all correct options and no wrong option. The critical rule: selecting even one wrong option costs you −1 mark and cancels any partial credit. In MSQ, be extremely selective — select only the options you are fully confident about; if unsure about any one option, leave it out to protect partial credit.

MCQ – Multiple Choice Questions (Section 3)

MCQ questions have exactly one correct answer out of four options. Each correct answer earns +3 marks; each wrong answer costs −0.71 marks. How to Prepare Based on UCEED Exam Pattern

UCEED’s exam structure directly drives the best preparation approach. The three section types in Part A each reward a different strategy, and Part B demands daily hands-on practice. Use the pattern breakdown to allocate your study time where it matters most.

1. Prioritise Visualization and Spatial Ability above all other topics. This topic area contributes roughly 25–30% of Part A marks and consistently has the highest number of questions. Practice mental rotation, 3D-to-2D views, paper folding, and mirror images using UCEED previous year papers every day.
2. Attempt every NAT question without exception. Section 1 (NAT) has no negative marking and is worth 56 marks — the highest guaranteed risk-free scoring opportunity in Part A. Even an approximate numerical estimate costs nothing. Never leave a NAT question blank.
3. Be very selective about MSQ options. Section 2 (MSQ) deducts −1 mark the moment you select any wrong option. Mark only the options you are fully confident about. If uncertain about one option in a multi-select question, select the remaining confident options to earn partial credit instead of risking a deduction.
