UPSC CAPF Selection Process consists of three broad stages – the Written Exam, the Medical Test and the Interview / Personality Test. Candidates must crack each step of the selection process in order to be recruited as Assistant Commandant.
Candidates have to initially appear for the CAPF Exam conducted in offline mode in two sessions. The Paper I (objective) and Paper II (subjective) is scheduled on August 18, 2019. The total duration of the exam is 5 hours. The candidates who clear this stage qualify to the next stage of UPSC CAPF Selection Process.
The candidates have to then satisfy the medical standards set by the commission during the medical test. Candidates have to satisfy the parameters set for 100m race, 800m race, long jump and shot put (7.26 kg). Female candidates don’t have to satisfy any parameters for shot put.

The candidates who fill the DAF (Detailed Application Form) and download the e-summon letter in time are allowed to come for the interview.
The first step of the CAPF Recruitment is the written entrance exam conducted on the allotted CAPF Exam Centres. It is scheduled on August 18, 2019. The basic UPSC CAPF Exam pattern is given below:
Candidates must ensure that while writing the answers in Paper II, they adhere to the language allowed for the question. Any answer written in another medium will not be considered. The UPSC CAPF Cut off for each paper will be different and fixed by UPSC. Candidates must secure the qualifying marks in Paper 1, in order for their Paper 2 answers to be evaluated.
The next round of the UPSC CAPF selection process is the medical examination of the candidate. A candidate must qualify the CAPF written examination with the minimum qualifying marks mentioned in the UPSC CAPF Cut off to be eligible for this step. Such candidates who have successfully qualified the CAPF will be called for Physical Standards or Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Test. The candidates who qualify the PET will be eligible for the Medical Standards Test while the others will be rejected.
The details of the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) are given below:

This must be done within a period of 15 days after the results of these tests have been announced.
Candidates who are deemed fit and who qualify the Medical Standards Test will be summoned for the final round of Interview or Personality Test. This stage of the UPSC CAPF Selection Process will be worth 150 marks.
It is important to note that those candidates who are declared medically unfit but are allowed to appear before the “Review Medical Board” on their appeal by the Appellate Authority will be also be called for the final round. But, this invitation to participate in Interview or Personality Test will be provisional.
Candidates must download the e-summon letter released on the official website for candidates shortlisted for the interview. Enter the seven digit roll number and captcha code to download the letter. There is a panel of 4 people where one is a chairperson (serving member of CAPF) and others are professors/experts with a high experience in their related fields.
