UP: Order to Remove Teachers without TET

Allahabad High Court has directed to take action against the TET passed assistant teachers without taking the prescribed qualification. This order has been heard by the Bench of Justice Dilip Gupta and Justice Jayant Banerjee on the special appeal of Prabhat Kumar Verma and dozens of others, senior advocates Ashok Khare and RK Ojha, advocate Anup Trivedi and Vihu Rai.

  • With this, the bench has revised the decision of the single-generation, which said that in this case, give the representation and take the BSA action.
  • The court said that the petitioners cannot be asked to ascertain who was the teacher who had the capacity to become a teacher of science or mathematics and who was not. This work can only be done by the BSA by examining and hearing.
  • The petitioners say that many such people have passed the TET and have been appointed assistant teachers, who did not take science or math subject in the undergraduate.
  • According to 2011 Circular, graduates in science or mathematics can become assistant teachers only.
  • After receiving the complaint from the court's decision, every BSA will have to investigate and examine which teacher did not graduate from science or mathematics before passing the TET.
