Royal College of Surgeons Admissions

The admission process for domestic and international students are both conducted online. However, international students have additional requirements and must be careful with their visa process so as to complete it in time. To avail scholarships at a priority basis, students must apply early.

Admission Requirements for International Students

Country-wise Academic Eligibility

  • International Baccalaureate: A minimum score of 36 IB Diploma points (inclusive of bonus points).
  • GCE A-Levels: A minimum of three A-Level subjects with minimum grades of ABB.
  • India: A minimum score of 90% or above in four subjects to include Chemistry, Biology and either Physics or Mathematics.
  • Australia: ATAR/TER required – minimum 95%
  • United States of America: GPA of 3.5 with a GPA of 4 in science subjects.

Visa Process for International Students

Students are required to apply online for their visa through the Irish Government website. Applicants must provide the following documents to complete the Visa Application, which can be done by visiting the official government website.

  • The online form must be completed with accurate information such as name, biographical information, and program information as this will be used for the visa stamp in the applicant’s passport.
  • Students have to pay the visa fee of €60 and print the receipt for the interview.
  • Applicants then need to apply for the study visa, submit the form and make the required payment.
  • Finally, students must attend the scheduled interview at a suitable Irish Embassy or Consulate.
  • General documents to take for the visa interview:
    • Passport (valid for at least six months ahead)
    • Original application Form
    • Health Insurance Cover
    • Official Admission Letter and completed Visa Application Form.
    • Completed and signed visa application form
    • Proof of permanent address outside Ireland.
    • Two Passport- sized photographs (2”x2")
    • Receipt of fee payment.
    • Proof of funding sufficient to cover the tuition and living expenses. The applicant may support this by providing the original versions of the Financial Affidavit of Support form and bank statement they submitted to receive immigration documents.
    • Evidence of the intention to return to your home country and not immigrate to Ireland.

Royal College of Surgeons Graduate Admissions
