Mr. Premnath Reddy is the Founder and Chairman of Acharya Institutes. An eminent technical professional, educationist and nationalist, Mr. Basani Premnath Reddy has gained a prominent position in society due to the exemplary work he has done in his Career. Through his philosophy of staying updated with the current generation he wants the youngsters to inculcate the values and etiquettes and acquire necessary life skills. In his interview he talks about the support system institute provides to the student to help them elevate in their personality development and takes responsibility to provide students with all the opportunities to succeed. He appreciates the ability the institute has to adapt to the needs of each individual student that has set them apart.In the later segment he applauds the efforts put in by faculty to play the role of a proctor and a parent as well. At the end he gives his valuable advice to the students to understand that knowledge and skills create successful paths.

Being the Founder Chairman of “Acharya” comes with a lot of responsibilities. You have to make decisions that would craft the future of over 15,000 students drawn from more than 75 Nations. As a leader in Higher Education, one is investing to shape the future of each of those countries and across the entire spectrum of human needs for a sustainable future.

My philosophy has always been to stay updated with the current generation and to ensure the creation of opportunities for them to acquire the Life Skills needed to be model citizens and useful to society. We are known to make ordinary students to derive extraordinary results in their life by enhancing their ambition levels and nurturing their aspirations and supporting their growth. Like any other effective leader, I have made my effort to change with the evolving elements of time. Thankfully it was this wilfulness that has enabled me to sustain several challenges that I had to face over the years.


The life cycle from admissions to their placements is ensured by able leadership of the institute 

To run an institution as large as Acharya, we had to identify leaders who would take initiatives and own the responsibility of their action. At Acharya, good leaders were always easy to find. In fact, I am proud to say that we have several members of faculty and staff who fit the above description. Unlike others, we have a standalone department which takes care of all aspects of the student life at Acharya. The life cycle from admissions to their placements is ensured by able leaderships in this team. It has been my pleasure to work in close proximity with them, guiding them through the occasional rough seas and watching them accomplish success.

Acharya has always had its ear close to the ground and understands societal needs. This in turn has helped us in our discussion and collaborations with industries. These partnerships have helped us achieve our vision of being a fountain head of the talent pool and has defined our identity today as one the most successful campuses in Bangalore.


The exposure via various means plays an important role for the personality development of the students 

Most students who come from abroad take time to adjust to the intense work rate of Indian academics. It is definitely difficult for them during the initial phase, but when they reach home after their course and a few years into their career, they call us to say a thank you, there is no award in the world that has made me feel as special as those words.

 The kind of exposure we give here to students through our collaborations, research initiatives, clubs, forums and social outreach has all played immense roles in reshaping their personalities as well.

We are very proud of our accomplishments as we have helped students who had lack of communication skills come to Acharya, pick up the language, go home and become great leaders in their field. We have students working in ministries, universities, MNCs, mostly in decision making roles. Today we can say this to the students deciding to choose Acharya, "If you wish to be a leader, we will push our limits to make you one."

Keeping pace with the industry is a huge challenge for any educational institution to begin with

We are not an institution that is satisfied by the curriculum prescribed by the universities. The world is changing and so are the industries. Keeping pace with the industry is a huge challenge for any educational institution to begin with. We have our training cell working in close proximity with several corporations and fortune 500 companies to ensure that our training programmes are updated to bridge any gap between the traditional academia and industry.

Our Department of collaboration on the other hand works with international organisations and institutions so that our students are exposed to the best practices that are followed globally. We keep updating ourselves constantly to ensure consistent quality in the students graduating from our college to ensure better probability of employment.


It is our responsibility as an educational institution to provide students with all the opportunities to succeed

My roles and responsibilities are in line with the Motto and the Vision statement of Acharya. I believe that everybody below the age of 25 comes with a lot of aspirations and it is our responsibility as an educational institution to provide them with all the opportunities to succeed. They indeed are the future of this world. We always look for newer time relevant ways to improve the quality of opportunities available for our students to be successful. I take it upon myself to ensure that such opportunities are created every step of the way for every student.


When we commenced education at Acharya, we wanted to ensure that even if we do little, we will do it world class

When I started thinking about Acharya I wanted to ensure that even if I do little, I will do it world class. Even if I had 30 students, they would get the experience of a world class institution. There was never a second thought on this. Neither the team nor I have ever stepped back from this notion. Call us adamant if you must, but this has given us the success formula that has driven us to the top of the list of private colleges in India, a walk through our campus exemplifies this belief.

It is our ability to adapt to the needs of each individual student that has set us apart. We do not run an institution which makes the students adjust to our needs, but we synchronize to theirs. This has enabled us to develop trust with the students on our methods and approach to solve their problems. Students here learn ways to implement problem solving techniques.

As you know, at the end of the day, practice makes perfect and on this journey a lot of opportunities are given to our students to experiment their learnings and thereby learn about their personal strengths and weaknesses. It is this teaching and learning process that has developed the personal traits of several students from across the world and thereby showing them the ways to become successful leaders. We consciously encourage students to take up entrepreneurship, and we have a dedicated Incubator to handhold the Start-up’s in the emerging areas including financial support/seed fund. Today we are proud to have a good number of Start-up’s making their presence felt in the entire spectrum.


Every faculty is trained to be a proctor, and every proctor takes up the role of a secondary parent

This is where the proctor system of Acharya comes into the picture. Here, every faculty is trained to be a proctor, and every proctor takes up the role of a secondary parent. They keep track of the student's growth, help them solve their issues on campus and they are the ones who make the campus friendlier. They are the ones who connect us with them.

The in-house designed and developed LMS allows students to connect with their faculty from the comfort of their residences. Although not envisaged, our LMS has been a boon for the students during this time of the pandemic and our students have been able to continue the learning process without too much difficulty. 

Thus we take the proctor system seriously. There are alumni who are still in touch with their proctors for advice and such stories portray to us how successful the system has been in establishing such a student friendly environment on campus.

Youngsters around the world should understand that in today's world knowledge and skills can take you a long way, but the moment you understand and don a leadership role, it will take you to where ever you want to go. I also urge the youngsters to stay away from distractions which hinder their career growth.
