Q 1. Kindly tell us about your experience in the education industry and what makes it the best industry to work in?
Ans. The modern education industry consists of training and organized instruction, by professionals, with respect to systematic curricula and pedagogy. These days, education does not only focus on the development of intellectual skills and knowledge but also contributes to the effective growth of Indian economy.
Being associated with this education sector for twenty-one years, I have experienced that imparting education is the most philanthropic task that is undertaken to serve the society as well as the nation. We, at KIET, aim to provide such education to our students that they evolve as learners, innovators, scholars, researchers and trainers.
Q 2. What are significant challenges that you are facing in bringing out the real vision of the Organization?
Ans. The education industry has undergone a sea change in the recent past as the focus has shifted from public sector to private sector. This has made the role of private sector more poignant and that demand further expansion and growth in the private sector education at an accelerated pace. Technical education has been one of the most significant components of human resource development spectrum and it has contributed a lot to the improvement of the life style of the people. But of late, many phenomenal changes have taken place in the field of technical education and these changes have brought in numerous challenges for the educational organizations.
‘To achieve excellence in technical education and create competent professionals for industry and socio-economic development to meet National and International needs’ is the vision of KIET Group of Institutions. The increasing inclination towards novel technologies coupled with innovative ideas, globalization, gaps in industry and academia, less orientation towards research activities, low employability of students and lack of effectively trained and skilled faculty members pose challenges in the achievement of the goals of the organization. Nevertheless, the institute has been able to get over all these hindrances and is regularly maintaining its momentum towards its goals.
Q 3. Tell us about some of your experiences and how does your curriculum ensure the best practices of the industry?
Ans. It’s a keen observation that the changes amongst the present time students are due to growing technology as it is the most useful educational tool for students these days. Our institute is affiliated to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam University and that limits our interference with the framing of the curriculum. But yes, we ensure the best delivery of the content and even go beyond the curriculum to meet the challenges and needs of the industry.
We, at KIET, endeavor to keep our faculty members, infrastructure as well as technology updated as per the demand of the era. We incorporate the latest and innovative teaching methodology to make teaching-learning interesting and student-oriented. Use of ICT based teaching including the usage of easily portable tablets by our faculty members along with wi-fi internet facility at campus facilitate the faculty members as well as students to access maximum online resources for research activities.
Thus, be it facilities or faculty, curriculum or career guidance, we seek to offer the very best to our students. Education that is thorough, purposeful and meets the requirements of today's global needs; education that disciplines and inculcates values; education that is in tune with the changing dynamics of today's competitive world - that is the kind of education that KIET offers.
Q 4. What goals do you have in your mind for KIET?
Ans. Education is the base for building a good nation and we feel proud to be a contributor in the development of such transformational nation. We get encouragement, looking at the bright and successful career of our students, which subsequently benefit the society.
We feel proud that we are shaping modern India as KIET believes and focuses on ‘Shaping young minds with skill oriented and value based education.’ We aim at achieving excellence to meet the international standards of technical and management education and our short-term goals include accomplishing success in all those efforts that we make to attain our aim.

In order to accomplish the vision and mission of the institute, we leave no stone unturned to prepare and hone our student’s attitude and skills and thereby we train our inexperienced young birds for their flight in the professional world. The institute ventures to provide funding to its students’ innovation and research based projects. We have created and facilitated copious Centres of Excellence for application developments for IOS and networking expertise of students.
Q 6. How do you plan to build a positive school culture or climate in College Name?
Ans. I am delighted that the institute ensures the quality of education, research and development to meet the international standards. To enhance quality academic culture, the Quality Assurance Cell conducts various visits and inspections and Student Welfare Office organizes seminars, workshops and other student development activities quite frequently.
The students are motivated to participate in various intra as well as inter college curricular and co-curricular activities that keep them abreast with the knowledge as well as trends of the society. This even helps the institute in maintaining a disciplined, positive, progressive and ever learning culture of the institute.
Along with various academic and skill development endeavors, KIET ensures that the values and ethics of its members are continuously triggered and enriched. To inculcate these values and also to keep the climate healthy, Team NSS and Uddeshya - a philanthropic society of students at KIET, are actively involved in organizing numerous activities as blood donation, tree plantation, blanket distribution to the needy, women empowerment programs and others.
Q 7. What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
Ans. I believe in ‘leading by example’ and that motivates me as well as my people to give the best of their potentials. I have observed that ‘All of us have immense potential and creativity within us, but it needs to be tapped and channelized.’
I feel the work, as well as power, should be decentralized and the self-driven people, if given opportunity and appropriate power, always give the best results as per their competencies.
Q 8. What would be your ideal school environment, and how would you encourage that kind of culture?
Ans. I think the environment, where the team is self-motivated, all are fully aware of their goals and objectives and they work to achieve those goals with full dedication, is quite ideal. The environment, where the work is decentralized and the workforce is system driven rather than individual driven seem to be perfect.
I feel really proud to share that the culture of our institute is system driven and the workforce here is stimulated to ensure maximum results. We, at KIET, take care of the contentment of all KIETians. All stakeholders take pleasure in their work with complete sincerity and dedication as we undertake to cater to their interest and creativity which provides them maximum enthusiasm.
Q 9. Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
Ans. ‘Attitude is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than what people do or say. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill.’
I sense that the youth should not blindly follow what others say; rather they should identify their passion and develop a positive attitude towards education. The students should be far sighted and know that their passionate focus on their goals can only fetch them excellence and thereby a successful career.
Thus, the students of present era need to polish their zeal for learning which will drive them to study for knowledge and not merely for the job. This attitude along with devotion towards the nation is sure to bring prosperity in the lives of young students.Last Updated - 25 Jul 2017
