Aprofessional with 17 years teaching and 9 years industrial experience, Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh is presently working as Director at Moradabad Institute of Technology, Moradabad since July 2017. He is the former Director of S.C.E.T Ghaziabad (formerly Shri Ganapati Institute of Technology) and has worked as a Professor in Mechanical Engineering Dept. at N.I.E.T Greater Noida. Prior to this, Dr. Bhanu was working as an
Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering Dept. at M.I.T Moradabad. After serving there for almost five years, Dr. Bhanu had exposure to Product development, Assembly and M/c Shop at Birla Yamaha Ltd. Dehradun.
Apart from this, Dr. Bhanu has attended various seminars and has also been awarded with several national and international recognitions.
Dr. Bhanu’s educational qualification include Ph.D. from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun, M.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering) from U.P.T.U Lucknow, and B.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering) from H.B.T.I Kanpur in the year 1991.
Dr. Bhanu’s experience in the education sector
It has been a great experience to work in an education sector as here we get an opportunity to work with young minds and make a difference in their lives. Teaching is not merely a profession but a passion for me, where I go through varied experiences every day. This profession provides the opportunities to be creative. It can be a great way to pass your knowledge and passion for future generations. As a teacher, we can inspire hope, ignite the imagination and instill a love of learning in our students. As said by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, “Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber, and future of an individual”.
Mr. Bhanu’s philosophy of leadership and his leadership style
As for leadership style, I believe in maintaining transparency in an organization. No leader can be successful without the support, cooperation, ideas and knowledge sharing of the other professionals in the organization. In our institute, we take all decisions after discussions with the concerned employees so that no conflict may arise. Though there is a hierarchy in our institute, but if any student or employee wants to discuss anything, he can discuss it with the authorities of the organization.
Non-academic support services in MIT Moradabad
Continuous maintenance of the labs, libraries is ensured by preparing periodic reports by Lab O.Cs and Lab Technicians. All equipment is purchased and repaired to keep the labs up to the mark. For the holistic development of the students, there is a well-organized Hobbies Club, Cultural Society and MIT Sports Association that organize various events time to time. Various development and orientation programs for students are organized frequently at the institute level to inculcate the creative talent and to provide a platform for students to compete and learn.
MIT’s planning for further expansion in terms of placement drive, international projects, and seminars
It is a dream of every student to get a good job in a reputed organization. MIT has established the Department of Placement and Corporate Affairs with systematic structure and advanced technologies under the guidance of highly experienced professionals. The absolute mission of MITGI is to help the students to pursue a quality career, high package placements and to fulfill this mission, MIT has been attracting many big names in the industry like TCS, Infosys, and HCL etc. Our institute is accredited by TCS and has MOU with many reputed companies also. Department of T.P and C.A also arranges workshops and lectures for our students by the experts from industry and academia.
Training of teaching staff of MIT
The teacher is an integral part of the society and the backbone of an institution. As it has been said, “to teach is to learn twice over”, it is very important for a teacher to remain a student by continuous learning and updating himself. MIT is seriously concerned for grooming its teachers in their respective fields. MIT organizes many FDP programs in summer vacations by inviting eminent speakers from recognized universities. A large number of faculty members from our institute goes to IIT Roorkee and NITTR, Chandigarh and at other reputed universities to attend Faculty Development Programs and Short-Term Courses. It is a matter of pride to say that AKTU has given us the opportunity to form nodal center to train faculty members of AKTU in the course of Human Value and Professional Ethics.
Dr. Bhanu on efforts made by MIT to stay in touch with the international alumni
In our institute, MIT Alumni Association is formed to facilitate communication between the present students and the MIT Alumni. The association comprises Patron, President, Secretary, and Executive members. To stay in touch with its international alumni, MIT conducts lectures and workshops by distinguished alumni from industry and academia. MIT invites its valued alumni on various occasions and programs of the institute to reminisce their memorable stories and meet with their adorable teachers, mentors, and friends. Our alumni are the prized possession of our institute and an integral part of MITGI fraternity. So, we make continuous efforts for their continued association with us. We are sure to say that we maintain everlasting ties with our alumni.
Steps taken to maintain the positive environment in MIT
Our institute is committed to provide a positive work and learning environment. The students are trained not only in academics, but here they get the opportunity to show their talent and skills in other fields also like dancing, singing and sports etc. There is MITSA for sports activities, hobbies club for extracurricular activities, Cultural Society for exposure of the students on the stage in dancing, acting and singing etc. We organize mega cultural event UTKARSH on Annual Day of the Institute. Participation in the above activities helps in overall personality development of the students. Such environment develops team spirit, leadership, communication and management skills among the students and their talents and energies are channelized in their chosen fields.
Measures taken by MIT to ensure the process of internships
An internship provides the students an opportunity to apply their knowledge in the real-world environment. It also helps them to perform better at their jobs. Internship increases the chances of suitable employment after the completion of the professional course. We send our students for internship in different industries so that they may acquire necessary practical skills to excel in the job market.
Suggestions for the current youth and the aspiring students
I would like to suggest the students that they should always have a ‘dream’ and passion to fulfill that dream. They should always work hard but only hard work will not pay. Proper planning and management along with hard work are required for success in this competitive world. It inculcates values in their life. Always contribute to the growth of society, nation, and the whole universe. Be intellectually and emotionally strong, always have a positive attitude towards life, never fear from failures and do turn your stumbling stones into stepping stones
